I can barely smell the violet in this. I get mostly the eucalyptus and mint but the violet tones it down a little and stops it being too harsh and astringent. It's one of the only violets that doesn't give me a headache, Twilight I'm looking at YOU. Ultraviolet is much less sweet and cloying than a lot of violet scents and I really like it. It's one I'd choose to wear more in warmer weater, it seems like it would be cooling to wear on a hot day.

I had really high hopes for this one but I just get apple from it. Extremely sharp apple. I'm hoping it'll round out a bit with aging *fingers crossed*

Hmm, this is a strange one. It does have an effervescent feel to it and it's a happy, summery scent. However the strawberry keeps alternating between real, fresh strawberries and odd creamy strawberry sweets. I can't decide if I like it or not.

I've never tried Dorian. Now I've got that shocking confession over with. Anyway, I really like this. I can smell the Snake Oil but the vanilla is much sweeter and more like I assume Dorian is. Now it's dried down I can just about smell the vanilla coming through. It's really pretty and it's convinced me that I really need to get an imp of Dorian soon.

I definitely get the tobacco in this one, and dried out leaves. It smells an awful lot like The Death of Autumn, which must be the khus I suppose. It's quite "perfume-y" but in a really good way.

In the bottle this smelled very buttery which scared me, I really don't want t o smell like butter. I still have nightmares about Jack, for this very reason. However, the buttery smell disappears when on the skin and I get a lovely orange custardy scent for a few minutes. After that the anise comes out and the scent becomes a little bitter. The orange and anise lessens after a while and I can smell the flowers which turn slightly soapy on me. Eventually the flowers fade out to leave just the orangey anise goodness. I'm not a huge lover of foody scents but this will be great for when I decide I want to smell like a really lovely cake

Hmmm... I'm finding it hard separating the notes for this one. It seems to be mainly pumpkin, but maybe that's the apple? I get the woods aspect, and the leaves are there but faint. It has an odd smokeyness to it that might be the poppy or the nutmeat, I'm not sure. It reminds me of both Samhain and The Death of Autumn.

Wow, this one smells drastically different after it's dried down to when I first put it on. Wet, it's a mixture of vanilla and pine. After a while the tobacco comes out and I can just about smell the honey. It has a smoky quality that reminds me of Snake Oil a bit, must be the musk. I was worried the pine might make it too cologne-y but the honey and vanilla balance it out perfectly. It's lovely, if not one I often reach for.

Mmm, buttermints! I love this one, but it fades really quickly on me. It's gorgeous, I just wish it lasted longer.

I love this one Honey and beeswax with a vague hint of lemon. So pretty.

Smells exactly like damp, mossy earth. Gorgeous. However... I'm not sure I'm going to want to smell like dirt that often. Let alone explain to other people why I smell like dirt. Erm, it's my perfume guys, really

When I first put this one on it smelled just like sweet sweet sugared plums but when it dries down it turns sort-of musky. The musk reminds me of Smut, which I don't like all that much to begin with. Smut plus plum really doesn't work for me

Beautiful. A sweet, creamy rose. It reminds me a lot of Hope, it has that same sugared rose feel, but more innocent seeming. I think it would be a good choice for a gift for a young girl. It definitely fits the character it's based on. I love it.

I get a creamy butterscotchy scent when it's still wet but dries down into hazlenutty goodness. Seriously, I know hazlenut isn't a listed note but it's what I get. A chemistry thing maybe? Anyway, after that the apple blossom comes out and mixes with the hazlenut. I'm not generally a fan of foody scents but this is gorgeous

Woah, I really wouldn't have guessed the notes in this one. In the imp it smelled like flowers, but grassy too. Like a meadow of flowers. On skin though, it turned into a lemon scent, like home-made lemonade. Possible imp mix-up? My nose is defective maybe? Either way, I didn't get a hint of tea, rose or carnation. Weird.

Straight away, on skin, this smells exactly like cherry bakewell tarts but fades quickly into a light, slightly soapy cherry. I like it but it's not a scent I'd want a whole bottle of.
-
I get sharp citrus at first too, which then fades to a beautiful earthy, mossy scent. I didn't expect to love this one so much but it's definitely going on my bottle wish list
-
On me this one smells exactly like a warm sponge cake with raspberry jam. Gorgeous, but not something I'd want to smell like every day.

Mmm... in the imp, and wet on skin, this smells like really good leather and smoke. On the drydown it's less leather and more like smokey... anise? And slightly coconut-y? Maybe my nose is defective but either way, I love this. From the other reviews I was expecting this to be a little too masculine for my taste but I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! Although that's not to say I wouldn't want to smell this on a man I need a bottle of this as soon as possible.

Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)
ankhfangirl72 replied to Vanilla's topic in Recommendations
I love Lush's Angel's on Bare Skin, does anyone know of a BPAL that smells similar? -
That's how I say it in my head, but if I was talking I'd probably just end up saying "the lab" because I don't like spelling out acronyms either. So at least you're not the only idiot

I really wanted to love Snake Oil but when I wear it I don't get the fantastic sexy vanilla everyone else raves about. I get spicy milk. Plus it gives me a headache because it's so strong. Edit- After it's had a few months to calm down I can smell the vanilla a lot more and it no longer gives me headaches. Sadly I still smell spicy milk more than anything

Hyson tea leaf, pale mint, sugar cane, orange blossom, lemongrass, and honey. Mmmm... mint tea with honey. A lovely fresh scent, perfect for summer

I'm surprised I like this so much, as I usually find jasmine really overpowering but this is lovely and light. Very pretty, however it does turn slightly powdery after a while. I can't really smell any lavender, but the honey-suckle is lovely. I actually got this as a frimp and it really isn't something I would have chosen, but I love it! Edit- After I'd worn this one a few times it started morphing into really strong KILLER JASMINE so I can't wear it anymore (or even sit next to someone wearing it) unless I want a headache

The only notes I can really distinguish here is the sunflower and red musk, mainly due to having an untrained nose, I think. Anyway, it is beautiful. I love it
