What a sophisticated and complicated scent. From bottle sniff to complete dry down, I've been taunted and shooed. Started black Amber, dark violet, powdery w a sound of sage wet. Warming on skin: the vanilla musk & hint of warm woods peeked. VERY POWDERY Drying down: amber, dark violet, hint of sage, pleasant warm undertones. Musk weaving in and out w wood. Overall, Lucretia has aged incredible. A nostalgic perfume for a aristocratic era. It reminds me slightly of V from Clive Christian.

Poisoned apple martini is a fun scent more me. Wet it's all green apple. That juicy burst of tart and sweet fragrant apple when you take that first bite into a perfect Granny Smith/ golden delicious hybrid, if such a thing. Drying down, hints of younger days and a green apple schnapps. For me, drydown is a pretty true apple, zero booze, yet a clear sweetness. Green apple and rock candy. Not quite a jolly rancher, but similar apple note. Moderate sillage, great wear length. Fun and happy apple scent. It's not for everyone per say as a go to Perfume, yet an undeniably cheerful, huge smile scent.

the sandalwood, similar to the SN released earlier this year, comes first foe me. Dry down neither vanilla heavy, nor musk driven, nor sandalwood forward... sublime with its effortless and golden warmth and perfection. On me, it conjures the balance and elegance of Hesiod's Phoenix. i adore this. Great sillage.

Agree w Lizzie.... The black coconut note is best exemplified in body remember and so below ... At least for me. As for a yummy coconut, Ivory vulva is perfection. She's been more available recently on forum. I amp a similar coconut note in captain Lilith and her first mate, and surisingly also in trading posts key lime cream pie. I'm not normally a huge fan of the watery coconut of obatala gc, yet it seems to be a favorite. There are so many pretty coconuts... Integrated w florals and other notes which you are not seeking. Lastly, I know erode love Snow White for her coconut w the chill. I get zero coconut w her. Just amp the others like no ones biz. Sooo.... Here is a piggy back question. Can anyone suggest your MOST coconutty~ish year of SW?

The Antikythera Mechanism

rich deep golden and assured notes of woods vanilla and a most fragrant pretty tobacco. the balance of all components is very impressive and certainly deserves celebrity status. however, for me, once again, this will not make the cut to be in the rotation box. i find it to finish quite androgynous. neither feminine, nor masculine. i should adore it, but i just do not. sad. -

joyleaf_ have you looked into lamia, death adder and perhaps shadows and reflection decants? I know in lamia the floral and in death the coconut might turn you away... Given your list, I'd say these 3 would be off the beaten path and perhaps loved. -

I definitely agree on all accounts. Lol my palate is relatively narrow. Despite being different genres, these 5 overlap in one way or another... As they are the go to 5 in current rotation, it prob has to do lots w the climate and flux of life. The selection recommended I will surely explore, though the photos might be more rare than what I currently DISO <3 On the gc..l antiKyM wears very wonky on me. I've tried both perfume and hair gloss, something about it is too warm and cloying. Muse of fire, I shall pull the imp. I must have it. As for banshee, it's really aged lovely... I just find myself not reaching for it as much as I should. Thank u Celestia xxoo P.s. Cascading blossoms is showing very beautiful at moment. As are volcano in spring time & blossoming vulva. Great light scents from this year's Lupercalia. -

ava lucille the girl black lace aradia .... these are my current go tos, sadly they all retired. i have others i like a lot... none too similar to these. haloes i wear and it reminds of aradia... others... uh ... please suggest?? -
I've tried somnus Baku ebon TAL & several traditional fixes... I have to be honest, sir Thomas is the one I sleep with. Perhaps I feel safe, rather than sleepy. The scent to me is what lingers after a long bear hug, embrace,,tuck in. Like my ear is still listening to a heartbeat. This is off the traditional idea of "sleep aid." It's archaic, but it's what helps me.

Did not love at release time this year as the lotus was too forward for me. More than 6 months in bottle later, it's creamy, resonant, smooth vanilla well expressed beginning to finish. Golden hints of amber and wood accompany after dry down. the lotus is forgotten after the wet stage. Elegant~ close to the skin. Sexy. It's one I would wear. Slather: wear again. And miss if without.

mossy pear. pale. hints of floral and very distant incense. i do not get any vanilla on me, nor detect much of the sandalwood. not something i'd wear as mossy pear with barely there pale florals= extremely fine soap from a Parisian boutique. the blend is very pretty and innocent. polite throw, moderate silage. eta 12/10 i still get barely vanilla. its moss, sandalwood incense, pear. not really vanilla. its all very pale and shiny. like putting nu-skin or a top coat on my hand to test. i think something with the pear and sandalwood plus moss is not working for me. at all. i will not be adding this to my yule order before it comes down

pleasing & smooth. the gourmand note is present, without overbearing density. aromatic. texture silken like wanna cotta, vanilla is a dark golden... SUBLIME!! i love this. layered and solo. begs the question:HOW MANY bottles do i need?!!!!

This is the unicorn token child. Favored and rightfully so! It's everything pleasant, so lovely, the scent of contentment and joy. Oh.., real description? It's sweet, floral, hint of white gourmand notes. Lavender and sugared peonies settle into another.., the aromatic sweetness of apricot dances w the white musk and pink rose infused mallow. Apple of my eye.., beginning to finish. Polite throw long silage. I love her so.

The Unicorn, Rushing Against the Tree, Fixed its Horn so Fast in the Trunk that it Could Not Draw it Out
SmilesSunshine replied to puck_nc's topic in Limited Editions
Innocence bottled with a vein of virginal purity & anticipation. That's the journey and scent gets for me. On wet, I find it ethereal and slightly sweet atmospheric. As it dries, the airy sweetness recedes and the florals dance with moss. This on me is minutes of slight awkwardness and tiny soapy. This phase is short. As it settles to the dry down, the scent is literal to all components. Non competing. Balanced, beautiful. Demure. Hopeful. Slightly sweet but in a transparent way,,, and this really compliments the floral note. White organza w a wreath of flowers in a unicorn forest... Dancing Pretty. -
as her twin Daisy, to me, another white driven blend. The orange blossoms, normally sweet for me, plays w the pink peppercorns to create a clean note. the coconut, similar to the note in OBATALA, and white musk are at the top and heart of this on my skin. Started on wet application sharp. My chemistry prefers a denser coconut. This is a clean, innocent, hopeful scent. Reminds me of my early teenage years. i don't remember what Phisoderm smells like anymore, but this elicits that feeling. Not scent, just the feels. Clean and pretty.

i would best describe this as a fragrance driven by the white~ oud, then hint only of tobacco . rose hips is honorable mention. out of bottle wet, this was very perfume on my skin. I'd almost guess ambergris and white sandalwood. With tobacco flower and rosehips inthe background. the white tobacco lends a creamy sweetness, like a raw cashew. the rosehips like a tight rosefruit, bud~ more green than the strong rose. as it wears, overall it is a clean androgynous blend. enigmatic, energetic. minimalist. confident. modern. think... ambergris, white amber, white sandalwood. that type of a scent.

i'm testing this slightly aged, as century guild just asked if I'd like to add on in~stock oils to my Freaks order... it's gain some weight and depth and curves since I first received. at the top, a sweet sticky honey with dark and aged patchouli, slightly peppery... perhaps a hint of saffron and its gone. THICK then the mid-palate... albeit sweet still... patchouli softens w appearance of amber &myrrh. texture smoothens w elegance. dry down, medium throw, pretty yummy, all the notes above are well integrated... sweet but not cloying. earthy but not hippy. ... i will not be getting a back up bottle. because in part, i am reminded of Tricksy. At a moment of Feed Me FMWP, another Banshee... Its way too much of a compromise for me. if you love honey, with gentle patchouli and a neutral sweetness.. this is for you

Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)
SmilesSunshine replied to zillah37's topic in Carnaval Diabolique
A decade later, single owner, sleeping bottle of the original Madame... She's waking up a Sofia Loren. Everything which enraptures and draws BPAL new following, I find in here.., vanilla smooth, musk sultry, the patchouli has fused w the fruits to mesmerize reminiscent of a wet unpacked tobacco... As if French tobacco SN is in here as it dries down. I really love this now, much more than the current, or than I did then. -
vanilla cream, mimosa, and almond blossom.... on cold... ehhhhh... yet, the scent blooms immediately upon application... the creamy vanilla & almond... sweet and fragrant without the density of a gourmand... the mimosa is very very slight, smooths out the almond after drydown. this settles in pretty fast. wears close & relatively short to medium duration. whimsical. elegant. i adore.
