    Seth

When I saw the scent description and the label art for Seth, I knew I had to get a bottle of it ASAP! Wet on skin: Lots of myrrh and amber! It reminds me of Diamond Star, however there is no ambergris in this blend. Dry: I start to smell the lotus and champaca flower. The florals start to mellow out the myrrh and amber. It doesn't go powdery. It is a soft dry floral incense. I get no leather at all, which is surprising because I usually amp leather in blends. No honey either. Maybe that papyrus is mixing with the dry florals? This is starting to remind me of Diamond's Gong now rather than Diamond Star. I will have to try this on my partner's skin because he loves leather blends.

    Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht

Wet: I smell a lot of apple blossom! It reminds me a bit of Samhain 2008. Dry: It smells like this could be a Weenie scent. Unfortunately the caramel is not very prominent. For a caramel apple scent, I will stick to Caramel Apple Cookie I would say Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht is a less foody version of Caramel Apple Cookie.

    Blóðughadda

Wet: Woody cloves! It almost reminds me of frankincense and cloves but there is no frankincense listed in the description. It smells like a clove version of Midnight Mass to me. A little spicy, a little woody, lots of cloves. No patchouli. Dry: Rich dark wood with a hint of saffron. I am not getting any fig from this.

    Behind the Veils

This was a gamble scent for me because typically I avoid wine notes (list of wine scents that didn't work on me: Blood Kiss, Blood Rose, Bordello, Horreur Sympathique, Lady Macbeth, Lilith, Nosferatu, The Obsidian Widow). Wine scents usually overpower the other notes on my skin and just smell like wine and I am not a fan of that. Wet: This smells like artificial grape candy This isn't looking good. Dry: This smells like Smut mixed with Streets of Detroit to me! I agree with mizliz2176. I own Streets of Detroit and it is one of my favorite scents. The dried of Behind the Veils is definitely giving me the aroma of Streets of Detroit if you replaced the motor oil note with Smut! I am curious as to how this will age. Since I own Streets of Detroit and Smut HG, I don't feel as I need to purchase a full bottle of Behind the Veils. It is the first wine scent that I've tried that didn't overpower the other notes though. I recommend this scent if you enjoy Smut and/or Streets of Detroit!

    Harper

Wet: A nutty scent (like almond milk) with a creamy rose background Dry: Smells like earl grey (probably the bergamot!) with a dash of vanilla almond milk and some tea roses. I do not get any incense or labdanum. This scent is borderline foody on my skin because the vanilla is quite sweet! It is a tea rose version of A Little More Tea without the cookies. It is a pretty scent but I do not think it is bottle worthy as it fades after 20 minutes. I think this will age nicely though.

    Old Scratch

I love Old Scratch! On my skin it is a mix of Dorian and TKO which is a lovely combination! It is a lot like The Serpentine. If you liked The Serpentine or never got a chance to try The Serpentine, I'd recommend Old Scratch. The tonka balances the lavender well. The lavender isn't astringent. It is quite elegant and smooth on my skin.

    Obatala

Beautiful scent. I wish my skin didn't eat it up because the scent fades very quickly when it dries. When it is wet it smells like a wonderful coconut shea butter. The coconut is not sweet or artificial smelling. It is a fresh/nature coconut smell. And shea butter makes the coconut very smooth and soft. It eventually becomes a vanilla candle wax smell very close to the skin. If the scent didn't fade on me, I would've bought a full bottle!

    La Tentation

Honeyed patchouli and apple musk with a sliver of white fig. Out of the 14 Lupercalia scents I've tried from this year's Lupercalia launch, La Tentation is my absolute favorite! I am shocked that there are no other reviews yet for this amazing scent! The apple musk note is so beautiful. Wonderful, juicy, realistic apple! The honeyed patchouli compliments the apple perfectly. The fig rests in the background and gives the scent a sultry vibe. In the bottle: It smells like a fresh Pink Lady apple! On the skin, wet: Crisp pink apple and fig. It smells like perfectly ripe fruit in the prime of their season. On the skin, dry: The honeyed patchouli emerges and deepens the scent. The note patchouli in this reminds me of a mix of Badgers (which also has honeyed patchouli vibe) and Silky Bat (which has a sweet, light patchouli). The patchouli note makes this apple scent so unique and gorgeous. The fresh pink apple note becomes a playful apple musk as it sits longer on the skin. The fig gives the scent a sexy edge and makes it irresistible to smell. It is very romantic and reminds me of warm Spring evenings. If I were to describe this scent as a color, it would be a vibrant pink sunset! The throw is medium on the skin. I swear, the longer it sits on the skin the more it morphs into a more complex and luxurious apple scent. The honeyed patchouli and fig paired with apple musk is heaven in a bottle. I think La Tentation made it into my top all time favorite scents!

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

In the bottle: Chocolate and caramel with some spicy cinnamon Wet: Cardamom, cinnamon, and cherry. It is a nice real cherry smell which is great because I cannot stand artificial cherry. Drydown: Some French vanilla peaks out amidst the cinnamon and cardamom. Dry: It smells like a snickerdoodles baking in the oven! Yum! The cherry has disappeared completely and I am left with French vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom. There is just a hint of caramel in the background. I am usually cautious of cinnamon scents because I have had reactions to them in the past (Eclipse and Pumpkin Spice Everything, I am looking at you), but Enraged Groundhog Musk did not bother my skin. I felt a little heat on my skin from the cinnamon but thankfully nothing turned red or rashy. I was hoping for more chocolate. I never got any chocolate on my skin, but I still enjoy this scent! Medium throw and good wear length.

    Moonbathing

I recently bought a bottle of this. Cantaloupes are my favorite melon and when I heard Moonbathing was a melon scent, my excitement soared. In the bottle: It is the most beautifully fresh, ripe summer honeydew. It smells like the real deal. I want to eat it. On the skin: Yummy melon. I never get any pineapple. It is a melon single note on my skin. It reminds me a bit of Kasugai honeydew gummies because of how sweet it is, but the scent manages to steer away from an artificial smell. Low throw and very low wear length, but that doesn't stop me from loving it. It disappears in like 30 minutes on my skin. I should try this in a scent locket to see if the wear length improves. This is a wonderful scent for summer!

    Pleasures of the Imagination I

If Musée de l'Erotisme had a perfume, this is what it would smell like. Immediately when I smelled my decant of this, it reminded me of when I visited that museum in Paris. It smells just like it! I had to buy a bottle immediately. The leather is soft and sexy. One of the softest leather notes I have smelled from bpal. The "softness" of the leather reminds me of the brown leather note from The Book from the 2016 Lupers. However it still has a "bite" to it but not in a bad chemical leather way. Almost like a slight pepper to make it sharp. Compared to my other black leather perfumes, I think "Pleasures of the Imagination I" is like a mix of brown and black leather. The only chemical leather experience I have had are with Ian and Adam from the OLLA line. But I know everyone's skin chemistry is different. Maybe it is the black amber and myrrh that calms the leather note down, but personally I am not getting any chemical scent like some others are from this scent. On my skin dry: It is sexy worn leather with a slight sweet powdery dust. I think the powder/dust and the worn leather is what makes me think of the Musée de l'Erotisme. The powder dances back and forth between sweet and spicy (like pepper). It is very complex despite it only being three notes. The throw is medium/strong and it sticks to my skin all day.

    Die Begierde

Beautiful scent! I was hesitant about this one because I typically stay away from any booze notes (specifically rum and champagne). Thankfully the cognac note in Die Begierde is not noticeable on my skin. In the decant: Rose water and sugar. There is a slight creamy/smooth quality to the rose. On the skin dry: Sweet pink rose water with cream and a tiny touch of carnation. This reminds me a lot of the hard French rose candies (by Les Anis de Flavigny) I used to have as a child. If you loved Lucy's Boudoir Atmosphere Spray, you will love Die Begierde! This may be my new favorite rose scent! It has medium throw and the rose stays on my skin all day. No headaches, no sour notes, no soap, no artificial smell. This one is a winner!

    The Ecstasy of Passion

This scent is one of my holy grails! In the bottle/wet: Luscious vanilla with amber and red musk. Drying: It is glorious red musk and sweet clove with a hint of amber and ambergris. Finally drydown on the skin: My skin really amps the red musk! Red musk with sweet clove wrapped in a cloud of vanilla. Absolutely stunning. It is a very elegant, sexy, and expensive-smelling incense scent. Amazing wear length (lasts all day on my skin) and strong throw. The red musk note in this blend reminds me of the red musk note in Lady in Black atmosphere spray. If you are a red musk fan, you will love this!

    Kamisuki Hair Gloss

Cherry blossoms with a drop of strawberry is the perfect way to describe it. I would not describe it as a floral hair gloss because the strawberry keeps it from being "floral" smelling. And the strawberry note in Kamisuki is a beautiful realistic strawberry! It smells like it is "shampoo-like" in the bottle, however once it is sprayed onto my hands then rubbed into the ends of my hair it becomes a very fresh, real cherry blossom scent. It definitely does not smell like fake cherry blossoms. If you have tried the very strong/perfumey cherry blossom lotion from Bath and Body Works, this smells nothing like it and that is a good thing. I do not find Kamisuki to be a perfumey cherry blossom hair gloss. It is very fresh, clean, and uplifting. No musk or artificial smell. Kamisuki is the real deal if you want a true cherry blossom scent. It smells like real cherry blossoms in full bloom. No vanilla orchid detectable which is great cause I am not a big fan of orchid as it can be very overpowering in scents. This is very innocent yet romantic. It is more complex and elegant than many "floral" scents I've tried, yet it is very wearable for daytime!

Diligent Instruction for the Bridal Night

I had such high hopes for this one! I love strawberry and Strawberry Moon is one of my favorite bpals! Unfortunately this was a foody perfume in the bad kind of foody way. The strawberry note was very artificial and sickeningly sweet to me. In the decant: It smells like strawberry cereal and milk. Very sugary and very artificial. On the skin: Overwhelming and strong strawberry and cream. Very strong throw. I never got the marshmallow from the mallow blossoms, and I think that is because mallow blossoms have nothing to do with marshmallow root. It did not remind me of Stekk or any marshmallow-like bpal scent at all. If this scent was sugar-dusted strawberries and marshmallow, I think it would have had more of a Stekk vibe. If you are a big fan of foody scents, I would probably say try a decant of this! I do not wear foody scents besides marshmallow or chocolate based bpal (marshmallow pumpkin, Stekk, A Breathless Chuckle, Boo, Bliss, etc.). If you are looking for a more realistic, juicy, ripe strawberry scent, I would suggest Kamisuki hair gloss or Strawberry Moon! If you are looking for a sugary foody strawberry scent, try this one! It may work for you!

Kitten with Shamisen Daydreams of a Phallus Palanquin

Very pretty scent! I've never tried any bpal with pear or rice milk before. White musk is usually very generic perfumey on me. The rice milk and pear balance the white musk perfectly! In the decant: Very sweet pear! It reminds me of juicy pear Jelly Belly beans. On my clean skin: Pear and rice milk with a hint of white musk. The white musk makes it feel more elegant instead of foodie. 10 minutes later: The pear and the rice milk almost make a shea butter-like scent. Very creamy and gentle. The pear is definitely the dominant note. Low throw, stays close to the skin. I really enjoy this scent. It would be great on warm, sunny days!

    Jinbari Nyûdô Bobo Dokisu

Oh I wish I had the same glorious experience as everyone else! I have only tried a few bpal with blueberry in them (Bitches Love Unicorns and Blueberry Cream Pie). Blueberry Cream Pie is amazing on me. Bitches Love Unicorns did not work on me (candy scents don't work on my skin as they disappear very, very fast!). And I have only tried one other bpal scent with lotus in it (Poor Monkey) and that did not work on my skin at all. Sadly, Jinbari Nyûdô Bobo Dokisu does not work on me. In the decant: Yum! Blueberry heaven! I do not smell the lotus in the decant. It smells like blueberry green tea to me. On my clean skin: It smells like floral scented sanitary pads and public bathroom air freshener. Very artificial and yucky. My skin chemistry is doing very horrible things to this beautiful scent. It disappears completely from my skin within 10 minutes (which is a relief because it smelled so terrible on my skin!) I will have to test it on my clothes or a scent locket. I adore tea scents and blueberry. I am afraid the lotus may be what wronged me again this time.

    Jareth

Jareth is a beautiful scent. It reminds me of Dorian when I sniff it in the bottle, however when I apply it to my skin it becomes something truly magical. Wet on skin: Dorian fougere mixed with brown leather. The leather note in this reminds me a lot of The Book from the 2016 Lupercalia. Very soft and dreamy brown leather like that of an old story book or journal. No chemical leather note like black leather tends to have. Brown leather is one of my favorite notes. Dry: The brown leather is much stronger compared to the fougere now. Lilac blossoms to keep the brown leather soft and ethereal. The more I wear it, the softer, sweeter, and more lush the leather becomes. The tonka is not noticeable on my skin. Hours later: Dorian comes back and the lilac disappears. It is now Dorian with soft brown leather. Both notes are equally amped on my skin. Very gorgeous. Very unisex. This scent is very comforting and soothing. I would even like to wear it to sleep. It has a medium throw and lasts a very long time on my skin (almost a full day's worth of wear).

    Schwarzer Mond

2006 version. I tried the 2008 version in the past and I was not a fan. The 2008 one was strong opoponax on me and I did not like it. I decided to give it another shot and try 2006! And I am so happy I gave it another shot! In the bottle, it reminds me a lot of Siberian Musk. Slightly cola-like. Kind of yucky. Wet: The cola smell is completely gone (thank God because I do not like how it smells in the bottle!). Gorgeous patchouli and amber. Very sophisticated. Dry: How did this get even more amazing? It is feminine yet dark. Very romantic to me. I would definitely wear this on a date night. This is one of the best patchouli and myrrh notes I have smelled from bpal. It is soft, sweet, yet dark. What a beautiful combination of resins. Thankfully no opoponax this time! 2006 you are a winner!

    A Little More Tea

In the decant: Smells like Jelly Belly buttered popcorn jellybeans. Very buttery and sugary. Wet: Same buttered popcorn candy smell. It is very unpleasant wet. Dry: Fruit Loops in milk. I had to pause and resniff again. Yes still Fruit Loops in milk. What is this sorcery? It is very nostalgic. 30 minutes later: Still Fruit Loops. But now it is dry cereal Fruit Loops. No cream. 1.5 hours later: The scent is fading. Now it smells like buttery cookies soaked in tea. However the tea note is very subtle and it does not smell like Earl Grey to me. Maybe more of a lightly steeped Earl Grey. It lasts under two hours on my skin and the throw is light. I was hoping for a stronger Earl Grey note but it was hardly there for me in the end. Earl Grey is my favorite tea. I will stick with the decant. Even though this scent was not what I had hoped for, it is still a unique and fun scent in my collection.

Dead Leaves, Raw Leather, Bourbon Vanilla, and Clove

This perfume has quickly made it into my top 10 favorite perfumes. It is so beautiful and well blended. I absolutely adore it. I bought backups immediately! When I sniff from the bottle, I get major flashbacks of being in the dressing room of my high school's theatre. We would leave the back door open and dry dead leaves would blow from the wind and get smashed up underneath costume racks backstage of a drama production. We had a lot of old, soft, worn leather jackets on the costume racks that had a lingering smell of warm men's cologne. We would all have homemade, baked goods backstage for the first night of the play for a cast party. It was usually vanilla cupcakes or some spiced cake. Dead Leaves, Raw Leather, Bourbon Vanilla, and Clove remind me of this wonderful memory exactly. I can pick out each note individually in the bottle but it all swirls together in perfect harmony. The dead leaves smell more like a cold fall night rather than the typical green/rainy dead leaf note I get from other dead leaf blends. The leather is very soft and worn. No chemical smell at all which is lovely. The cloves and vanilla give the perfume a gentle sweetness. The vanilla never goes plastic on me. The scent stays the same scent on the skin as it does in the bottle. As hours go by, I smell the vanilla and clove more on the skin. If you are afraid of leather notes, I suggest this perfume. It is very mellow for a leather perfume. It is unisex and very nice for the fall. Nothing is overpowering in this scent. It is very wearable out of all the dead leaves scents I have tried.

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

I have Tombeur from 2015 and Tombeur from 2010. Is your label on Tombeur the same label art as the current label art on the website (male vampire bting a woman)? Or does your label look like it has older art (3 people on the label)? In the bottle: newer Tombeur to me smells dominantly of juicy (slightly fruity) blood musk with almond and vanilla-infused sandalwood whereas older Tombeur (from 2010) smells dominantly of lavender, amber, and snake oil. Both of them smell completely different to me. I own Dorian and Dorian definitely does not smell anything like Tombeur. I would contact the lab if you purchased your bottles from the lab. Also if you just received your package in the mail, I suggest letting the bottles sit for a few days to settle. Shipping and temperature changes can change how perfumes smell temporarily. I hope this helps and I hope you can figure out what is wrong.

    Stinky

Stinky is a nice, clean scent. I just finished off my decant of it and I felt it was time for a review. This is the only baby powder scent that has ever worked for me. Normally, I can't stand the smell of baby powder. When I go shopping, I avoid the baby section to avoid the smell of baby powder. I was pleasantly surprised that this perfume works on me and how much I enjoy it! In the bottle/wet on skin: Honey, and powder. Drydown: Honey and milk with a powdery overlay. This reminds me a lot of Burt's Bees milk and honey lotion. I used to use that stuff everyday in 6th grade. Dry: Sweet powdery honey. The milk disappears on me. The scent has a medium/light throw. This is a nice bedtime scent. It is very soft and relaxing. A decant was enough for me. I don't feel like I need a bottle of it. I would recommend this scent as a bedtime scent for those who enjoy honey.

    Odd Portents

Odd Portents is very well blended and complex dark scent. In the bottle: I mostly smell dark musk, black currant, bourbon geranium, and an undertone of amber incense. Wet: Very strong rose (reminds me of the rose in Black Rose). Slightly herbal. A faint undertone of the lavender buds. Dry: Myrrh and olibanum. The rose faded quite quickly. It is a soft herbal rose now. No powdery or soapy smell. It is more like a rosebud smell. 10 minutes later: The bourbon geranium and black musk are back. The olibanum overpowers the myrrh and amber. The faded rose note is less herbal now and more of a sweet whisper of a rose. This surprisingly sweetened up! The lavender is still not very noticeable. Medium throw. I was hoping to smell more amber incense and lavender buds in the blend. This perfume is a dark unisex perfume. The bourbon geranium keeps it from being too dark. It has just the right amount of sweetness to keep it from being too dark, too fruity, or too herbal. It is a nice Fall scent. If you are a fan of Black Rose, I would suggest this perfume.

    Bitches Love Unicorns

I don't normally go for candy scents but this one sounded like so much fun! In bottle: Very strong. I can smell this perfume even before I take off the lid. It smells like assorted flavors of pixie sticks and a fizzy lemon lime soda. Wet on skin: All kinds of fruity smells. Mostly orange, lemon, lime, strawberry, and a bit of sugar. Dry: A SUGAR RUSH! I mostly get a lemon-lime fizzy sugar scent. It smells like crushed/melty sour skittles to me. So yummy and uplifting! Very strong throw! An hour later: It transforms to a perfumey fruit musk that is close to the skin. The perfumey fruit musk smells like an old aerosol room freshener... It is a bit unpleasant. I definitely prefer the sour skittles smell over this perfumey stage. I may have to try this in a scent locket to see if the sour skittles smell stays. I only used two small drops from the cap. I will have to retest it to see if putting more on my skin will make the skittles scent last longer. Hopefully the aerosol stage doesn't happen on my skin when I retest this out again in a few days. Overall I really enjoy this scent. It is very fun and unique. I recommend anyone who enjoys sugary scents to try this.
