  1. In the imp: sweet, rich vanilla and leather

Wet: warm sage and leather, a little sweet

Dry: pretty much the same but with a little lavender

Overall: I really like this, it's a beautiful cozy sweet leather, but I just don't know how often I'd actually reach for it. I'll keep the imp for now however!

  2. First I get pure, true pumpkin and a little bit of spice, and it reminds me of pumpkin muffins I recently made. As it dries I get more creaminess, and the cardamom and ginger stand out though I get touches of allspice. On deeper sniffs and as it lingers I get the tea.

  3. In the imp I get super sweet, dark, sugary rum, but no booze. Like rum syrup. There's a fruitiness as well.

Wet: Sugary rum, but boozier. There is something that smells vaguely banana-y underneath.

    Dry: Rum and bananas.

  4. Fresh, pink rose and I agree with zankoku_zen, very rosewater-y. I get a sprinkling of white sugar over the top, and I think a little vanilla. Completely dry I get a clean freshness that I associate with white musk as well.

  5. Threatened to go screechy on me, but settled down fine! I get the Chanel No.5, lavender, a classic men's cologne in that order and if I really sniff I get the Snake Oil underneath all of that. It's heady, floral, and a little powdery but in an elegant way. It's definitely a big, bold, glamorous scent.

  6. Very comforting scent. In the bottle I get cocoa, with coffee, almond, and rum primarily. Wet it's a dry cocoa with coffee, vanilla, and cardamom. It gets sweeter and creamier as it dries down and the notes harder to distinguish. Sweet, creamy chocolate with a bit of coffee is mainly what I get. Absolutely delicious!

Thread necromancy for any Umbridge recommendations! I'm dressing as her for a Halloween party. I feel like it ought to be something kind of evil, but that someone of her tastes would see as ladylike. I'm kind of stuck on Wicked at the moment, but any other ideas would be welcome! Maybe even Lucille Sharpe, but I think Lucille might be offended.

Maybe layering something pink and sugary over something a little more sinister? The first thing I thought of for her was High-Strung Daisies

Ack, I think I had High-Strung Daisies long ago, but swapped it away. Not sure I really have much in the way of sugary scents in general, other than maybe Midnight on the Midway.

Hmm maybe something with roses, like Sin layered with rose. Or maybe a tea scent?

  9. Beautiful creamy pink rose! The orris doesn't overpower and go weird musty sweet like it usually does on me. The coconut is very creamy but the actual coconutiness of it is quite light. Smells like a princess! Good back up for when some of my other creamy pink roses run out.

  10. In the imp: spicy cherry candy

Wet: cherry starts going a little cough-syrupy. I think the ultra-sweet cherry I get from DBR is pushing the cherry much too sweet and the clove is quite strong as well.

Dry: Much more restrained cherry, I think the myrrh is really holding down the fort, and the spice settled down as well. Surprised about how the DBR is working on my skin

  11. Mmm dark musky tea. I agree with LizzieLuck, this is like a dark Dorian. The little bite from the licorice replaces the lemon in my mind. This one is fairly light, and not too strong on the licorice for me. A very cozy tea scent.

  12. Jacquelynn’s beautiful baby!
She has a unique independence that I attribute to her being an Aquarius.
She hates closed doors and crates. She likes the option to join the party or not.
She is intelligent, loyal and protective.
Super affectionate with people she knows, but aloof with strangers.

A wintry-white flurry of snow, as pale as her eyes, with lacquered black pepper and oudh.

This starts out all sweet, fluffy, vaguely coconutty snow. Like Snow White without the flowers. As it settles the black pepper adds a little heat and intrigue. The oudh is definitely a milder one, I get a sweet woodiness underneath all of the snow. I feel like I could pair this with quite a few things (especially Yule scents!) and could be one of my everyday workhorse HGs. Definitely give this a try if you love sweet snow scents.

  13. And every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened it oh so gently! And then, when I had made an opening sufficient for my head, I put in a dark lantern, all closed, closed, that no light shone out, and then I thrust in my head. Oh, you would have laughed to see how cunningly I thrust it in! I moved it slowly very, very slowly, so that I might not disturb the old mans sleep. It took me an hour to place my whole head within the opening so far that I could see him as he lay upon his bed. Ha! would a madman have been so wise as this, And then, when my head was well in the room, I undid the lantern cautiously oh, so cautiously cautiously (for the hinges creaked) I undid it just so much that a single thin ray fell upon the vulture eye. And this I did for seven long nights every night just at midnight but I found the eye always closed; and so it was impossible to do the work; for it was not the old man who vexed me, but his Evil Eye. And every morning, when the day broke, I went boldly into the chamber, and spoke courageously to him, calling him by name in a hearty tone, and inquiring how he has passed the night. So you see he would have been a very profound old man, indeed, to suspect that every night, just at twelve, I looked in upon him while he slept.

Midnight observations and false cheer: moon-shrouded indigo musk illuminated by a thin, wavering amber light, punctuated with erratic bursts of nerolis sharp affability.

This is definitely going on my list of most favorite scents ever. The amber is deep and warm, and the combination with the musk reminds me somewhat of Haunted. The musk is hard for me to describe but it's cool-toned and narcotic. I get just a little halo of floral from the neroli. It's such a beautiful and addicting scent.

  14. Sweet and darkly warming.

Testing this directly on my skin as a moisturizer. The pomegranate is sweet, velvety, and dark. The clove is very, very light. It spikes the pomegranate just enough to give it some warmth make it festive. Overall it wears pretty light on my skin and I could get away with wearing it as a moisturizer on my whole body, I thought it was going to be too overpowering. Simple and lovely.
