I think amber/ambergris scents (I'm thinking like Haunted or Diamond Star where it's simple and the main player) can be good when applied lightly because generally they are just vague and warm in a way. They make someone say "you smell so good" rather than "your perfume smells so good" ya know?

Mmm tart green apple! Very fresh, I get a little lemon and apple blossom as well. The sugar becomes more apparent as it dries. Absolutely delightful!
-
Mmm starts off as a lemony lavender men's cologne. Gets sweeter and a little powdery and smells a little like candy by the end. It's still very pleasant. The mint gives it a nice edge as it dries (I think), but my guy says it smelled medicinal.

Starts of salty, salty, salty. It lightens up as it dries with a light floral aspect. Salty, fresh sea air with a sharp mossy greeness and light florals.

In the imp: very light and sweet, not what I was expecting Wet: Faint, but lightly smoky Dry: Barely existent herbal soap. Not at all where I thought this was gonna go!
-
In the imp: sweet, rich vanilla and leather Wet: warm sage and leather, a little sweet Dry: pretty much the same but with a little lavender Overall: I really like this, it's a beautiful cozy sweet leather, but I just don't know how often I'd actually reach for it. I'll keep the imp for now however!

Dark smoky, rum, smoldering wood, and something dark and harshly green. Gets more leathery as it dries.
-
Smells dark purple. Wispy and bottomless flowers and opium, with myrrh underneath. Hard to pin down.
-
How have I never noticed this scent before? A beautiful creamy white floral, I get primarily magnolia and tuberose with sweet spike of plumeria and some juicy pear. Beautiful for spring!
-
In the imp: dark greenery, smoke, and wine. Wet: astringent and herbal, but I can smell something sweeter and fresher trying to break through. Dry: I get smoky pine and wine. Sultry and mysterious.

2017 Beautiful soft white cake and incense, with a little bit of red currant. Stays pretty true the whole wear. Lovely!

First I get pure, true pumpkin and a little bit of spice, and it reminds me of pumpkin muffins I recently made. As it dries I get more creaminess, and the cardamom and ginger stand out though I get touches of allspice. On deeper sniffs and as it lingers I get the tea.

2017 version A lot like Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, a blast of frigid air but with greenery. Fades to a chilly, sweet floral.

This mostly fresh orange blossom and vanilla on me, but there is something dark and sultry lurking beneath.
-
In the imp I get super sweet, dark, sugary rum, but no booze. Like rum syrup. There's a fruitiness as well. Wet: Sugary rum, but boozier. There is something that smells vaguely banana-y underneath. Dry: Rum and bananas.
-
Fresh, pink rose and I agree with zankoku_zen, very rosewater-y. I get a sprinkling of white sugar over the top, and I think a little vanilla. Completely dry I get a clean freshness that I associate with white musk as well.

Threatened to go screechy on me, but settled down fine! I get the Chanel No.5, lavender, a classic men's cologne in that order and if I really sniff I get the Snake Oil underneath all of that. It's heady, floral, and a little powdery but in an elegant way. It's definitely a big, bold, glamorous scent.

This is just as I hoped! A beautiful dark, juicy pomegranate. Sweet but with bit of tartness, wet it almost reads powdery but dry it comes off as deep and velvety.
-
Very comforting scent. In the bottle I get cocoa, with coffee, almond, and rum primarily. Wet it's a dry cocoa with coffee, vanilla, and cardamom. It gets sweeter and creamier as it dries down and the notes harder to distinguish. Sweet, creamy chocolate with a bit of coffee is mainly what I get. Absolutely delicious!

Very fluffy vanilla and coconut cream, with just a hint of tiare flower. Very different than CVBT on me, which was tropical and more coconut heavy.
-
This starts out quite herbal on my skin, and sweetens up as it dries. It's dark, heavy resins but not in a bad way at all. It stays a little green and herbal on me, I want to call it rugged almost.
-
In the imp: woody and scorched. I think a combo of oud and black pepper. Wet: Getting a some red musk and amber, but it is still very dry and scorched. Dry: absolutely nothing sweet about this blend on me. Arid and stifling. Primarily red musk, oudh, and black pepper.

Looking for any Harry Potter scent recommendations

Maybe layering something pink and sugary over something a little more sinister? The first thing I thought of for her was High-Strung Daisies Ack, I think I had High-Strung Daisies long ago, but swapped it away. Not sure I really have much in the way of sugary scents in general, other than maybe Midnight on the Midway. Hmm maybe something with roses, like Sin layered with rose. Or maybe a tea scent? -

Beautiful creamy pink rose! The orris doesn't overpower and go weird musty sweet like it usually does on me. The coconut is very creamy but the actual coconutiness of it is quite light. Smells like a princess! Good back up for when some of my other creamy pink roses run out.
