In the imp: crisp bright apple Wet: spicy apple, with a green leafy-ness and honey Dry: Very well blended. Warm honeyed apple muskiness with a faint rosiness and spice. Myrrh is probably grounding it and giving it depth. This is the first scent my guy has actively shown interest in and I love it as well. The almond didn't go cherry on me in this one, but it isn't pulling the blend into baked goods territory either. My only regret is not trying this one sooner!

    Eostre of the Dawn

In the imp: sweet jasmine (not very heady to me) and honeysuckle with creamy milk underneath. There is also something bright and almost sparkling to me, like crisp white tea or something. Wet: Similar to in the imp, but with a light sweet musk. Overall pretty sweet. Dry: creamy base with light musk, smell a sweet and almost a little clean. Reminds me of a less sweet Neutral or sweeter white musk. The jasmine and honeysuckle are very soft. An utterly feminine, springtime perfection scent.

In the imp: soft warm floral and dry spice. In the family of Morocco, but more floral and less vanilla. Wet: Carnation, a touch of jasmine, and maybe dry rose. It could be the spices that make this so dry. But's not in a bad way at all. Dry: Pretty much the same as wet. The spices are hot and arid and give the flowers a more sultry feeling. On me the scent is fairly strong, but the throw isn't very far. It's condensed in a nice little cloud around me.

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

Personally I'm a slatherer and wand caps are just a little too diffcult to get the amount of oil I generally need (it's good for my very strong scents that I dab though). A reducer cap could be good for minimizing spilling accidents (a roller ball cap like the ones mentioned above might be good too!). As far as contamination goes, it's something I've never really worried about and I think plenty of others as well. I think most of us use some method where our skin touches the oil directly or via wand cap or something.

In the imp: screeching red wine and dark herbs. It was so acidic smelling in the imp I couldn't tell what it was at first. I did not want to put this on my skin. Wet: red wine calms down, but still present. Quite sweet at this stage, very herbal with sweet dirt. Dry: soft herbaceous dirt, with a little underlying dark sweetness from the wine. Dirt is not my thing, but this went a lot better than I thought.

    Ave Maria Gratia Plena

In the imp: soft musky sandalwood Wet: sandalwood, soft and slightly sweet. I get some bright lemon, and the wonky sweetness I get from orris. Dry: everything is so soft and well blended I have a hard time picking things out. It's soft and dry but not too powdery. There's a slight warmth from the sage. It's innocent and reminds me of moonlight for some reason.

In the imp: Warm and fruity sweet. Wet: Definitely apricot. There's also something here that just reads "perfume" here, which is an impression I've never really had before. I want to say it's a dark musk or maybe a floral? I'm getting a dark, sensual apricot. Dry: Pretty much the same but the apricot has softened and blended into the other notes more. A very elegant fruit scent, but still too fruity for me. Looking at the notes though I was sort of right! White musk usually reads clean and light to my nose, so this blends wears much differently than I would think.

In the imp: cool (I first thought of sweetened eucalyptus but maybe spruce?) and herbal Wet: still cool, almost mentholated, and very herbal. Getting a little bit of sweet, creamy shea. Dry: Creamy shea layered with many herbs. Not really my thing even though I love that shea note!
  9. If I don't already mention Boober every chance I get, it's light and clean, but I find it to be a little sweeter and less soapy than other clean blends and not at all aquatic. Reapers Gonna Reap, Paladin, Neutral, and Obatala are work go-tos for me. I find light vanillas, soft creamy scents, and not harsh clean scents tend to go unnoticed or at least aren't commented on!

    Ozone, Ozone, Ozone!

Try getting your hands on a decant of Kataniya, The Clockwork Woman from the Carnaval. The notes are "gentle flowers over hot metal, shocked to life with electricity" and some of the reviews mention the "lightning" note you're looking for, if you don't mind flowers too much.

In the imp: water lily, orris, and a touch of lemon. Bright and watery, but orris has a odd sweetness that I don't like. Wet: More florals. Damp rose and waterlily at the front, with the others swirling around. Dry: Mingling soft florals. Water lily and wisteria are most noticeable. Soft and watery. A touch of lemon brightens it. I think the sandalwood and plum sweeten a bit, and the violet leaf adds to the aquatic feel. Lovely!

    Vasilissa

She herself had cheeks like blood and milk and grew every day more and more beautiful: creamy skin musk and blushing pink musk with soft sandalwood, white amber, dutiful myrrh, and star jasmine. Absolutely gorgeous. Soft creamy and musky, with a light-handed soft sweet jasmine. A gorgeous softness from the sandalwood and the amber and myrrh create a warm sweet base without weighing it down. Will need a bottle!
  13. [No additional description given.] This has to be my favorite dead leaves scent ever. I'm having a hard time describing how all of these notes sum up. The leaves themselves are not super strong, but they are dry and crisp. I can't pick out the individual notes beyond a little black tea and sandalwood. This scent has layers for sure. It's lightly sweet and earthy, but not dirty. I think this will pair well with scents like Reapers Gonna Reap and Morocco.

    Morocco

Well I've been wearing this scent for I don't know, seven or eight years now, so maybe I should review it? As much as I swoon over other scents that come into my life, Morocco is my soulmate. It's comforting and familiar but still always excites me. In the bottle: a low vanilla-sandalwood, toasty and slightly musky. Wet: Spicy carnation, musk, and spices (cardamom? cassia too, but just a little) and sandalwood. Dry: Creamy vanilla base (which gets super apparent with 4-5 years of aging), and a beautiful cloud of carnation, sandalwood, and musk. The spices give it a hot arid scent. I swear to god it smells like a breeze coming off a baking dune.

    Vagina Treasure Hair Gloss

When I first spray it I get light white tea and ginger blossom first, light and tropical with just a touch of heat from the ginger blossom. As it settles I get more spicy carnation which becomes the heart of the fragrance to me. The honey and amber add a warm, golden body. I agree with LizzieLuck, this is very versatile for spring/summer. I get a beachy vibe from it, but not strictly so.

    The Virgin and the Unicorn

In the bottle: soft dry sandalwood Wet: mossy, but not damp. Sandalwood and incense make things drier, a little bit of white rose creeps in. Dry: This ends up as a mossy incense on me.Dry, earthy, and soft. A little vanilla hovers about. It's a beautiful scent for sure, but not my cup!

    The Lion

This is a bright, sweet amber with a touch of spice on me. Simple, but delightful!

Consoling Pussy of Horse Face Mountain

In the imp: Tuberose with a touch of smoky incense. Wet: Pretty much the same, though the tuberose chills out a little and it gets mossier. Dry: This gets moss heavy for me. Earthy and damp, with the tuberose incense making it even more tropical jungle humid and a little smoky. Interesting but too mossy for me!

    Cave of Treasures

In the imp: this reminds me a little of Blossoming Vulva, but with lilac not lotus. Though creamy, not slippery. Wet: LILAC Dry: spicy amber with honey. A little creamy with just a hint of lilac left. I like it, but I don't need a bottle. Too bad the lilac burns off in the wet stage.

    Pink Moon 2017

This is just a nice medley of pink flowers, though the one I get the most of and can best identify is carnation. It has a spun-sugar quality that reminds me of High Strung Daisies, but more complex. I definitely get the vanilla as it dries down, but no strawberry. A very lovely pink blend!

    Vanilla Orchid

A fresh, clean floral-vanilla. Just the tiniest bit of sweetness at the base. Very airy and cool.

    Improvisation

Starts off with crisp white tea, and it reminds me a lot of Kumiho as well but minus the zingy ginger. It smells a little sweeter too, I think from the honey. As it dries I get some light fig and a beautiful osmanthus around the white tea. A refreshing fruity-floral tea blend.

Kitten with Shamisen Daydreams of a Phallus Palanquin

In the imp: Very strong pear, it kind of smells like banana candy? Wet: rice milk and very ripe banana. Why? Dry: soft white musk and creamy rice milk with light, fresh pear. This dries down nicely but the wet stage has been so weird. But it is a nice soft spring scent. It doesn't go too foody or clean.

    Effronterie

In the imp: juicy pomegranate. I mean JUICY. Wet: juicy pomegranate and clean white blooms. I can't quite put my finger on what they are, they are not heady so it's not tuberose or jasmine or anything like that. Dry: Sweet and clean. I agree with the clean white towels association. This is my favorite white musk blend that I've smelled, it's so smooth. The pomegranate adds a nice touch, just a little splash of fruitiness. This reminds me intensely of a perfume I smelled as a child, but I can't remember for the life of me what the name is.

    Entertaining the Heian Court Maiden

In the bottle: polished wood and honey Wet: smooth wood, honey, and vanilla Dry: Dry, almost spicy wood and dry vanilla. A little bit of honey floating around. This is beautiful, but it is so soft on me. If had more throw I'd be in love.
