    Rapture

I thought this might have ginger and jasmine in at first because the mandarin with the spiciness of the other notes created this spicy, bright scent, and the jasmine is more subtle since it is night-blooming. Very pretty, but definitely has that firey quality to it.

    Anathema

DEATH, DEATH NOTES!!!! I got this as a frimp, not voluntarily which means I am obligated to test it. Though my dislike of vetiver is so high, that I actually appreciate the honeysuckle, a scent i usually dislike, in this scent because it's not vetiver.

    Imp

Whew, lot's of peachy throw right off the bat. I don't like peach on me too much, but I do really like the way the peach and patch interact. Not really for me, but I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like peach, amber, and patch interacting together.

    Anteros

Holy begamot and patch! Then the saffron starts coming up and confirms I am eh about saffron, but it settles down, and I can't believe how these notes all work together so well. it's Beth's magic, of course, but wow, totally unexpected.

    Dragon's Heart

Maybe its the musk, but this isn't as fruity on me as I anticipated, Dragon's blood tends to smell like violets on me, so it has a certain clean quality that surprisingly works well with the musks and fruit. Dragon's blood resin isn't my thing, but this is probably one i like more than most of the dragon's blood based scents that I have tried.

    Vixen

I could have sworn when I first smelled this wet on me it had cherry or something, then the patch came out, but I am not picking up the other two. As it dries down, it gets a lot earthier. Yet another patch that I probably won't wear, but will pass off to my BFF who wears patch so very well.

    The Grave-Pig

That's definitely patch, but it's s softer patch, maybe the fig helps that. Lots of potential death notes here for me, but it's working. I have a friend who can wear scents like this, so well, so I think I am going to pass my frimp on to her, but glad I got to try it.

    Haunted

This is really pretty and mournful like the description says. It's not in my usual repertoire of scents, I got it as a frimp with a weenies order, but I find myself sniffing my hand a lot. It reminds me of Insects from Crimson Peak - another dark scent that surprised me with how much I liked it despite all the death notes. I don't think I need a bottle of this, but it is lovely and I liked experiencing it.

    The Deep Ones

These salty ones are growing on me, and while I don't think I would wear this one as a perfume, I would definitely use it in a bath or a homemade bath bomb! Maybe it's the coral, but it has an almost floral smell to it.

    Jabberwocky

The pine scents just don't work as wearable scents for me unless they are really subtle. This is not that, but it's still a beautiful scent - great for an oil diffuser.

    Pink Champagne

Oh, I love the champagne scents, and this one smells very close to Bon Vivant, but there's something to ground it. I think someone mentioned pink pepper. I love Bon Vivant, but I might like this more because of this subtle spicy element.

    Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht

This died pretty quick on me which often happens with skin musks, but I was hoping the other scents would bolster it. I was hoping the teak would be stronger, but it was mainly cream, honey, and skin musk on me.

    Honey Moon

At first, I was surprised that a honey based scent was working so well on me, but like some of my favorite honey blends that I can wear, this one has some florals and herbs - so that explains it! This is a beautiful spring scent to me with the gardenia and honey dancing togther beautifully. I like heady florals like jasmine, but I need sweeter notes to balance it, so this is perfect. I shall revisit it in Spring.

    Sundew

This smells like summer to me, particularly summer in a humid place. Maybe it's the carnivorous element, or it could be from aging, but underlying the wet flowers is one of those hothouse florals that have an element of decay to them.

    Cockaigne

I do love the milk and honey scents, but this is quite the spice to it, which I assume comes from it that I love less.

    New Orleans

I got this is a frimp with a lab order. Honeysuckle and I just can't get along. Jasmine can be iffy, but I generally like it, but combined with honeysuckle it brings out the qualities of the jasmine that I find hard to stomache - the headiness of it mostly.

    Absinthe

Yep, even Beth can't make me like the smell of absinthe. I had to wash this off - it's the licorice apsect I can't stand, and not just licorice, black licorice.

    Baobhan Sith

Whew, that is some grapefruit, but not an acrid one due to the softer qualities of the white tea and apple blossom. On me, it gets surprisingly soft as it dries down. I think I will revisit this in summer.

    Dorian

I have been involved with BPAL for over a year now and this is my first time trying Dorian. It only seems fitting since I recently ordered Serpentine from this year's Fatherhood. I could immediately tell what was Dorian based on this scent, and I love it. Serpentine is softer with Lilith's lavendar, which I tend to prefer, but I could see myself investing in a bottle of Dorian still. This is wicked and lovely. It's mainly fougere and musks, but I can smell the tea as it dries down more.

    The Apple of Sodom

Maybe it's a holdover from my younger days of Bath & Body Works Country Apple, but I keep trying Apple scents only to be very disappointed. This one is very appley, so it's not working for me - it's definitely a red apple and there is a darker quality - ashy or poisonous like the description warrants, but that is up close to the nose. Otherwise, it's JUICY RED APPLE IN YO' FACE!

    The Lights of Men's Lives

How did I not know this was in the general catalogue?! I got this as a frimp with a Weenie bottle swap, and it is beeswax and smokey, with a sweetness that could be vanilla maybe? Beautiful and comforting.

    The Avenging Vase

Ha, this is exactly the kind of rose I expected in a scent like this - yes, the one often called "old lady," but I think of more old-fashioned, which is not bad. It captures the idea of this scent, so well! Little Bird described it as screeching, which I agree - it's a startled white floral across a marble vanity top, next to toppled cold cream. I love it.

    Fizzy Jack O' Lantern

I am a sucker for the BPAL fizzy and champagnes! This one is no different, but it has another element I love - pumpkin spice! But fortunately, a very subtle pumpkin spice. I get it when I put my nose up close to the scent, and the pumpkin becomes more prominent as it dries down. I love it!

    The Unquiet Grave

Oh, this is very aquatic on me. I was hoping for more white florals, the aquatic is just overwhelming. Alas.

    This Wan White Humming Hive

I loooove this. I tend to like "white" scents in general and this has that quality, though it's on a scale of white to pale gold. On me, it's more beeswax than honey, less sweet and more complex. Yet another, I may have to get a bottle of.
