I Suppose You Are a Princess Hair Gloss

Oh wow, this is gorgeous. Sweet, creamy, floral. Just so utterly pretty. This will go with a ton of different spring floral scents that I have and love. Oh yes, I need a full bottle of this.

    Caw-Caw Hair Gloss

Dark, sexy, gritty clove! There have been lots of great clove scents lately - Goth Queen, Wednesday's Child.....this will go really well with them. The patchouli comes through, but it's a sweeter, chewier patchouli - not dry or woody or gnarly to my nose. Something is coming through though that smells....a bit like poo? Ah shit (ha ha), totally missed that this has agarwood, and I think that is another word for oudh - aka feces, to my nose. It's not strong though, and the clove is quickly overtaking everything. I think this will be wearable for me - still mostly that sexy, gritty clove scent. The oudh often calms down with age, too.

    Lovers in a Ricefield

Wet: OMG I am swooning, this is soooo good. Creamy, sweet, floral, perfumey - all the things. It smells like everything good in all the world. It is SO UNIQUE I can't even describe it. This is the most excited I have been trying a perfume in ages. I am in love, and will be devastated if it dries wonky on me. Dry: Completely and utterly gorgeous. It gets EVEN BETTER once dry, as the plum blossom comes out subtly. I can't even describe how wonderful a scent this is. So happy to score some, and will likely keep an eye out for more. And by that I mean....this is horrible. You don't want any. Seriously. You should likely just send yours to me.....I'm happy to take one for the team

    Fortuna Dubia

Wet: Not at all what I expected. This smells like some sort of fruity, herby cologne...WTF? OMG no, it smells like METAL. WHY??? Dry: This makes me so sad. Something in it is reacting horribly with my chemistry, and it ends up smelling like the Lab's metal note, which I really dislike. I don't smell any honey or amber, it's all metal on me. Makes no sense. I will pass this on to someone who can appreciate it.

    Pumpkin Spice Cathedral

Pumpkin spiced incense smoke! Not a huge pumpkin spice fan, but I like the idea of it with incense. Wet: OK, this smells amazing. First of all, the pumpkin spice is a million time better than I ever expected. I thought it would just be a blast of cinnamon, but it's really well rounded. The pumpkin note is rich, buttery without being cloying, and slightly earthy is a "realistic squash" sort of way. Having never tried the Lab's other pumpkin spice scents, I have NO CLUE how much of the Cathedral is coming through. I have tried Cathedral on it's own, but can't remember it that well. My notes say it was a woody incense with a lot of Frank on me. I don't really smell much of that. This is sweet and creamy and yummy. I want to eat it. Dry: About the same! Lots of spice, a hint of rich creamy pumpkin. If Cathedral is in there, it's maybe serving to ground this and add dimension (which it has). I really like it, and am excited to compare it to the other PS scents I snagged.

    Fortuna Populi Romani

Someone compared this to Monsterbait: Underpants, so of course I had to try it. I can't see how it's possible, but here goes nothing. Wet: OMGEEEE. It's not like Underpants - it's like Love's Philosophy (vanilla and saffron) with wood mixed in! OMG it's so good. It's so complex and rich and gorgeous. I totally forgive it for not smelling like Underpants. Dry: This dries down to an amazing sandalwood and leather scent. Hints of vanilla sweetness. Sadly, the saffron that made this so special to me is gone. It no longer reminds me of Love's Philosophy with wood. It's sure no Underpants either, but it is a great scent in its own right. I am going to let it age for a month and try it again to see if I need a bottle. I think I might though.

    Fortuna Obsequens

This JUST came in the mail today, and it's freezing out, and I shouldn't be testing this, but with Lupers imminent, I am trying to decide on some ride along bottles. Wet: Patchouli. Dry, dirty patchouli. All those glorious notes, and I get basically "dirt" out of it. Then the poo creeps in. I forgot this had oudh in it. Dammit, I picked the wrong thing to test!! This is not going well for me so far - I am getting dirty, woody poo. Dry: OK this dries down to much more of what I was hoping for! Like a mix between Black Moths and Lucille Sharp or something. Musk and fruit and roses, with just a hint of patchouli. Sexay! That being said, I do have Black Moths and Lucille, so not really sure I NEED this...it's not about need though, is it?

    Bienenstich

Super grateful to my fairy for snagging this for me. It has taken me ages to get round to testing it! Wet: Initially, the dominant note is cream, which I was not expecting. Then the almond amps up. Mmm. Then I get a rich, syrupy, sticky, oozy honey cake. YUM. The honey has the slightest floral edge to it, which is TO DIE FOR. This is so so so good. Dry: So sad!!!! I know this WANTS to smell like honey cakes on me (and I desperately want it too - I hoped for The Sharing of The Cake HG in perfume format), but instead it smells like cream, which smells like "scorched milk" on me. Ick. So mad at my skin. I will likely age it and try again, as it's hard to give up on something I had such high hopes for, but in all likelihood I will have to rehome this.

    Badgered by Dragons

Wet: Tons of dark rich chocolate. I don't get the other notes immediately. It's all about the chocolate. Dry: Still mainly chocolate (a rich, gorgeous, dark chocolate that is somehow still a bit creamy) but now I can detect a sweet French tobacco-like note. It's really lovely. I have way too many chocolate scents, and have been trying to cull them, but this may be one that I keep.

The Trappings of the Tea House

Lately I have been obsessed with pink pepper. Wet: The pink pepper is really spicy! Almost like sweet cinnamon. Kind of like cinnamon hot hearts, actually. Hoping it settles down. I get hints of lovely sandalwood - wishing that would come out more to balance things. Dry: Even dry, my nose still wants to read this as cinnamon. When I really analyse what I am smelling, I can tell that it isn't actually cinnamon. But close enough to be confusing. This is not quite what I was hoping for, but it's lovely. Reminds me a bit of Pepper from the GC, I think? Has some floral/fruity vibes going on with the spice. If you like spicy sort of floriental smells, I bet you would like this. I am glad to have tried it, but it's not quite for me.

    Sky City (Before)

I am a sucker for Dandelions. Hoping the metal doesn't ruin it for me! Wet: Grass, flowers, dandelions. Lovely! Very fresh. A hint of sweetness. Smells like spring in a bottle. Dry: Yay, no metal! Just fresh green things on me, mostly grass and dandelions, with hints of sweetness. Somewhat "dewy". I really love it, and will wear it in the spring. It's much stronger on me that Dandelions and Concrete, which I love but wish had more throw.

    Parsifal

Wet: Clean misty rain and fresh green growing things. Gosh that's utterly beautiful! Sometimes green things (like grass) have this sharp bitterness that takes a while to settle and smooth out on my skin, but thankfully this is sweeter and lovely right from the moment it touches my skin. The ozone is so so pretty. Beth captures the scents of nature incredibly well. This is no exception. I have never smelled any perfume that smelled more like a rainy spring day than this scent. Astounding. Dry: This stays true as it dries - clean, sweet rain and green growing things. Gorgeous.

    Enraged Bunny Musk

Wet: Like sticking a bar of soap up your nose. Or sticking your face in the dryer right after the clothes are finished drying. Or standing outside on a clear still night and smelling the person in the house next door doing the laundry. I LOVE THAT SMELL. I used to hate the idea of a perfume that smelled like "clean" but then my workplace went scent sensitive, and now I feel like it is one of the few things I can safely smell like. No one can say I am not allowed to smell clean, so I now cherish fragrances like this. Dry: This dries surprisingly strong. Like REALLY STRONG white soap. It's not as nice as when it was wet. I will have to try it all day and see how I feel about it. I may have other clean scents I love more.

    Glowing Vulva at Ryogoku Bridge

Wet: Oh wow, very unique. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but this isn't it. It's much...darker than anticipated. It's very rich. The teak is gorgeous. The amber really does have a glowing quality. I was a bit worried about both the cream (goes sour sometimes) and the lotus (gross bubblegum of doom) but both are very restrained in this. This is really all about the amber, on me, as it dries. It's a bit powdery - not in a bad way, more in that classic, elegant, slightly nostalgic way that I like. This is so different. I haven't smelled anything like it. It smells "antique". Like if someone described this as "antiqued amber" it would be bang on. Dry: This is difficult to describe. I find it really sensual. It wears very close to the skin on me. I really like it. Not sure if I love it enough to justify how much I paid for it, but I will need to wear it for a full day before I will really know. My skin also seems dry right now, it seems to be really soaking up oils, so that may have also impacted the strength and throw. This has also made me even more excited for this year's Lupers, which should drop any day. I sure hope there is a new Vulva!!

    A Wild and Naughty Girl

I have a ton of tobacco scents. A ton of clove scents. I COULD NOT say no to both of them together. Wet: Deep, dark chocolate and chewy rich tobacco, giving way to intense, almost-but-not-bitter clove. YUM. This smells raw and dangerous and sexy. A wild and naughty girl, indeed. Dry: This dries down to a really dark, gritty blend of tobacco (a dry tobacco, hardly sweet at all), dark chocolate (again, without sweetness) with dry earthy patchouli and hints of clove. I cannot convey enough how DRY this blend is. It would need to be sweeter to really suit me, but that being said I do kind of like it. Having learned my lesson about scents that have promise, but aren't quite "there" yet, this will ago for a while before I make a final decision.

    Galloping Dreams Atmosphere Spray

This is soooo good! I love the amber in this. The lavender is gorgeous. Amber and lavender is a fave combo of mine (Good Morning, London and The Air and the Ether). If you love either of those scents, you need to give this a go. Perfect for spraying down the bed linens.

    Gingerbread Champaca Hair Gloss

This is really yummy! The Lab's gingerbread doesn't work on my skin, but this is stellar. I don't get any champaca that I can detect, it's all about the gingerbread. Really strong ginger, not too sweet. Great!

    Tobacco scents

The Language of Crows from the Post is also an amazing tobacco scent - brown sugar and rich chewy tobacco, mmmm!!

Dead Leaves and Black Musk Hair Gloss

[No additional description provided.] The dead leaves is the non-cologne, non-aquatic note that I like a lot. The black musk only comes through faintly, but it's good too - dark, rich, almost....sooty? With maybe a tiny hint of anise? Could just be the dark imagery. I like it, but it's very simple, and I do wish the black musk came through stronger.

Spiced Chestnuts and Leather Hair Gloss

This is very woodsy, and I really get the "roaring fire" aspect, but more like an outdoor bonfire in the woods. The leather is subtle to my nose, more like suede. The spice is subtle as well, but detectable. I can't say that I can pick out the chestnuts. Overall, a lovely outdoorsy sort of scent.

    The Language of Crows

Wet: Mmmmmmm, gorgeous sweet chewy tobacco with sugar and woods. Lovely. Dry: Another GORGEOUS tobacco scent. I have so many tobacco scents! Yet I always seem to find room for more....I am strongly considering getting a bottle. Or several. I love how sweet this is, and how rich.

The Wolves Howled, The Ravens Screamed

Wet: Oh man. I love opoponax. I love dirt. I LOVE the two of them together! And the woods work really well with both notes. This smells like a hike on a gloomy dark day - the kind of day where I manage to get spooked out in the woods, even though I know them like the back of my hand (I actual enjoy the feeling of being spooked, and grin at myself as a startle with every noise). This is really atmospheric, and I like it a lot. Dry: I friggin love this. It is so dark and rich and menacing, but also lovely and haunting. I will for sure be wearing this in the spring and fall when it is damp and gloomy outside. And just in case it wasn't clear - opoponax + dirt = amazing!

Autumn Moon of the Mirror Stand

Wet: Mmmm. The honey fruit, and hints of gorgeous tobacco are stunning. I love this tobacco note. It's sweet and almost spicy. Gorgeous. Dry: SO GOOD. Sweet, spicy, bright tobacco with fruit and honey. This is such a "me" scent. Really happy I finally got off the fence and bought a bottle.
