I have been desperate for a coconut HG. I find Coconut Vanilla Tiare HG to be allll about the Tiare. This is lighter, creamier. The coconut is more dominant in this, which is what I was hoping for. The Tiare just adds to the tropical vibe, instead of being overpowering. This smells like summer in a bottle! It's not too sweet. It's a warm, summery scent, and I will get a ton of wear out of it I am sure!

Yuuumm!! The amber is gorgeous and amazing. I was worried about the jellybean, but it smells more like starburst to me. I sprayed this on my sleeve, and have had my nose stuffed in it since. Typing is hard, lol. But I can't stop sniffing it!!! This smells like sheer joy and happiness. I love it so much, and don't know why people aren't talking about it. Go get some!! (seriously, I adore this).

Wet: CAKE. Lots of cake. But also...something astringent? Maybe that's the cider. It's an odd mix. It's like the two are fighting for dominance, and that astringent note is winning. It's so acrid it almost makes my eyes water. My skin is doing weird things to this, because in the vial and right when I put it on, it was all about the cake. Hoping it settles on my skin. Also - I want cake. Dry: This turned into a straight-up aquatic on me. So confused! That must be the wisteria? It smells a bit like aquatic-plus-lily, actually. All hints of cake, cider, anything else are gone. Man my skin is weird.

    Like Father, Like Daughter

I don't like pomegranate, because it's bitter on me - HOWEVER, I often like notes that are bitter on me if they're doused in enough honey or sugar, so giving this a go!! Wet: WOW. That is the definition of sweet and tart. It's making my mouth water. It's reminding me of Hubba Bubba gum - super intensely flavoured, right off the hop. I literally salivate every time I sniff this. Not sure I want to wear it yet, but I really want to lick it....ha ha. Dry: This is really exactly as advertised - pomegranate cotton candy. It retains it's lovely sweet-tart scent. It doesn't go plastic or dusty on me, as many fruity and gourmand scents do. It's pretty perfect. It's not something I would ever have occasion to wear, but man am I tempted to get a bottle anyway. Genius, Puddin. I bet a lot of candy scent lovers are ecstatic with this (and if you're a candy scent lover who hasn't tried it yet, you best get on it!!)

OMG this is so good!!! Why are more people not raving about this!! I got a 1oz decant, and am wishing I had got a full bottle!! (this from the girl who has, as of yet, not managed to even use up a 5ml decant of anything ) The tea and musk combo gives this a Dorian feel to me, especially with the sweet aspects of the musk and vanillic aspect of the Tonka. This is like an amazing dark musk version of Dorian with hints of anise, and I am DYING over it. I desperately want this in perfume. If there were ever going to be an HG scent worthy of breaking into the Trading Post Dungeon to pour myself a sneaky 5ml of perfume, it would be this one! (I would leave lots of cash and a case or two of beer, of course! Geez, what kind of person do you think I am? )

    Zip Line

I am so scared of oudh!! But the other notes sounded too good to pass up trying. Wet: Lots of smooooth leather (the kind I love) and cinnamon pastry. This makes me want a cinnamon bun so bad! I love this so far - reminds me of Arabian Dance without the coffee? Or maybe it's something else I am thinking of. Either way, I adore the leather note in this, and the oudh isn't ruining it, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I don't typically like overtly masculine smells, but I find this fairly gender neutral so far. It hovers right on the edge of gourmand. Dry: Nose to skin this is soft leather (I cannot express hoe much I love this particular leather note!) and sweet cinnamon pastries. The throw, however, has a lot of oudh in it. I just can't get my nose to like oudh. There is something about it that literally makes me cringe a bit. So sadly, this one is not for me.

Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe

Wet: Mmm!!! Clove!! I love clove so much. The cherry comes through as well and sweetens it nicely. The whole scent is quite sweet, in fact, which I really love. This feels like a lighter, more whimsical Goth Queen. I am now getting hints of the "vanilla patchouli" - whatever that is, it reminds me of Banshee Beat! Like there's a tiny drop of BB in there with the clove and cherry and general gothiness Love it! Dry: This dries down to a much more subtle cherry and clove scent. It's lovely, soft and sweet. Everything you'd want in a clove scent. It really is like a sweet innocent version of a goth perfume. Love it!

    Wednesday Hair Gloss

Hmm. Not what I expected. I feel like there is cinnamon in the graham crackers? This smore is mostly graham, in fact - I can't really smells any marshmallow (what I was hoping for) or chocolate. Just yummy graham cracker. It's not bad or anything. Just not what I want to smell like.

    Zoƫ Hair Gloss

The amber notes is really perfumey, and cuts through the gourmand notes nicely. Very strong on the chocolate. I don't get much caramel, and sadly no maple syrup. (I was really hoping for a big hit of maple - we Canadian's drink it straight out of the bottle, eh? ) Overall this is yummy and soothing - kind of like a cup of cocoa and a hug. Not sure how much I will wear it, but I do really like it.

Morning in the City of Angels

Wet: Grass, flowers, sugar. Something almost mapley? Or maybe caramelized? It's somehow clean and floral and gourmand all at once. Very interesting! Dry: Quite lovely! The gourmand notes faded, and this is primarily clean grassy-ness and floral notes on me. Lovely!

    The Pillory

I can't resist rum. Wet: Mmm, rum and berries! Making me hungry. As gourmands sometimes do though, this is going "stale" or "dusty" on my skin. I call it the "stale cocoa puffs" effect, but it happens with more than just chocolate on my skin. I would guess it's the ice cream note doing it here. To top it off, the berry is turning to plastic, giving the overall scent a very artificial feel. Too bad, because that rum note is sooooo yummy! Dry: Sadly it didn't recover, it smells artificial on me, but there is a GLORIOUS sugary rum note underneath!!

    Parthenope

ETA: This is the 2017 version Wet: I thought this might be a honeysuckle scent, but it's an orris scent, so far. Usually orris is horrid on me, but so far this is actually quite nice. Powdery and sweet, but nice. The musk is fantastic. Dry: This is really nice. It dries down to somewhat of a skin scent on me - pale orris and musk are dominant. I'm quite excited that the orris works here, as that rarely happens. I am not sure I would ever reach for it, but it's a very pleasant scent, and I am really glad I tried it. I won't avoid orris quite so much any more - it's been raised from death note status to just iffy.

    Long Night Moon 2017

Wet: Wow, this is gorgeous. Honeysuckle is my new favourite floral, and it shines in this. I also feel like I smell jasmine, which used to be terrible on me, but lately has been a bit better. If there is jasmine in this, it's nice, not doing that cat pee thing it likes to do. Very heady, this floral. Like sticking your face into a bouquet of fresh blooms. Nicotiana likes to overwhelm everything, but it's not in this. Dry: This is so so pretty!!! If I hadn't just picked up a bottle of Wild Honeysuckle SN I would be very tempted to hunt down a bottle of this. Actually I kind of still am. It's gorgeous, sweet, Honeysuckle dominant blend on me, and I love it.

    Closet Raid

I am not sure I have ever smelled Chanel No. 5 before... Wet: Powdery, clean, and very classic! That's what comes to mind immediately. It smells like my Grandma's bathroom at the old farmhouse (this is not a bad thing whatsoever!). I always thought it was her milk bath I was smelling in that bathroom, and now that I think of it, was it a Chanel Milk Bath I always used to buy her at Christmas? I will have to Google to see if that was ever a thing. ANYWAY this is lovely. Hints of lilac, fresh, clean, classic, CLASSY. Dry: OK, so Chanel No. 5 did/does come in Milk Bath form, and I really think that is what I am smelling. It's so nostalgic. I get hints of the lilac as well, tiny bits of lavender, but I can't detect the Snake Oil. This reminds me so much of my Grandma, who is currently battling cancer. I am so happy to have this right now, I will cherish it. I had totally forgotten the memory of this smell, had even forgotten buying that bath milk for her as a gift many years in a row until this reminded me. Dusting off that memory is like finding a treasure I had forgotten I had. I owe the Lab for that. May have to pick up another bottle. Can't wait to see how it ages. It feels like being wrapped in one of the giant fluffy towels after a bath in the old claw foot tub on the farm, safe and warm and clean. I'm not crying, you're crying!! Thank you for this, Beth.

    Bluebonnet

No idea what an actual bluebonnet plant smells like, nor have I ever smelled it in a perfume. Excited to try it! Wet: Oooh, lovely! Sweet (but not too sweet) with a lot of green to it. Very fresh. I feel like maybe I have actually smelled this, in something that I love - maybe just listed as "wildflowers"? Maybe Venus Verticordia? This somehow reminds me of that, but less green, and less honeyed. Anyway, this is very pretty. and I am digging it. Dry: This is a soft, lovely scent. The floral is still a bit green, and almost slightly aquatic, in a clean way. Really beautiful, and it does remind me of the wildflower note in Venus V. Pretty! And for a great cause. I <3 the Lab. ETA: So it's not very often that I revisit a review, but I wore this for the first time the other day (it finally being spring here in Canada - I mean, there's still ice on the ground in the woods, and it's bloody cold still, but we're making it work) and was so in love with it the whole time I had it on. Before that it was inches from the swap block, as I have way too many florals. But this is SO SO pretty, and has this sweet green note mixed in with the floral - hard to describe, but like the Lab's grass note only way better. Anyway, I wore this on a hike (my favourite moments of most days) and can see doing so often through the spring. It really is like spring in a bottle. Just felt the need to sing Bluebonnet's praises!

    The Drunk Astronomers

Wet: Very powdery. The jasmine is really interesting. I don't do well with jasmine, but this jasmine tea note is totally different. It reminds me of a jasmine candle I had and loved in elementary school. I am not digging this sweet powdery thing happening under the jasmine tea though. I never have issues with musk, or with amber, so I don't quite know why it's weird and powdery, but it is. Dry: Fades really quickly. The musk is more like a skin musk on me than anything. The amber is powdery, which never happens. The jasmine tea is really faint. This one isn't for me.
  17. The lovely Angi from Ajevie included a free sniffie bottle of this with one of my decant orders <3 Wet: Oh wow. In my head this was metallic, chemically, gross. In reality, it's soft, pretty, feminine. It's floral, in that really haunting manner that Beth does so well. I don't get anything I would identify as blood. It's light and fresh - clean, but not in a "laundry" sort of way, more in a pale while sort of way, if that makes sense. It's much sweeter than I would have anticipated as well, and there's something a little fruity coming through? Ya, it's kind of in the vein of "fruity florals" - pale and pretty. There's something a touch green and herbal about it as well. Really quite lovely and unexpected. Dry: I can't pick out any specific notes - not even one. I can only describe it: light, sweet, clean, fruity and floral. It's a pale scent. There might be a hint of clean musk in there? It's really really lovely. Absolutely worth a try.

    Daybreak

Wet: OMG this is so beautiful. Bright lavender and soft powdery vanilla, with sugared coconut. That's what I get. I see others have described this as the same lavender from TKO, but I have to disagree. This is a different lavender, to my nose and on my skin. I like TKO, but I LOVE this. The Lilith lavender scents are my favourite bedtime blends, and this one does not disappoint. Dry: This is SO GOOD. Sugary vanilla and coconut, with sweet, strong lavender. This is way prettier than TKO on me. TKO is great and effective, but I don't actually adore the smell. THIS, I adore. Will be getting a back-up before they come down.

    Cemetery Creep

Orris is so iffy on me. I have this tunnel vision issue though, when I see vanilla and musk I ignore all the other notes that are likely to not work and blind bottle it anyway. Fingers crossed orris doesn't ruin this! Wet: OMG that's so pretty! Like, gorgeous. More floral than I expected. Light, airy but still quite sweet. The musk is clean and lovely. The orris is there for sure, but I am not hating it in this (yet). Dry: Even though I know it, it hadn't really occurred to me that, of course, vanilla blossoms are orchids, so this would be floral and would not actually smell of vanilla. It's still gorgeous! Don't get me wrong. It's a beautiful clean, bright white musk and orchid scent. It's sweet, and just a tiny bit powdery from the orris (but not in a bad way). It's lovely. I have several orchid scents, and I don't actually find I reach for them much, so I may need to do some death matching. Glad I didn't let the orris stop me from trying this, as it's totally a non-issue in this.

    Cozy scents

I find I have a couple of different categories of cozy scents. One category, that I particularly like on rainy, overcast evenings, consist of: (all sort of fougere and musk type scents, I guess? They are all in a similar vein to me) Theodosius Famine Mad Hatter Dorian The Serpentine Jareth The other category all contain beeswax, which soothes my soul the same way a glowing candle does: Bunraku Theatre The Library of John Dee This Wan White Humming Hive Flickering Lantern The Lights of Men's Lives Bard (This is also light enough to wear to work when I need comfort) Another category I find cozy is maybe linked by balsams/resins? No. 93 Engine Sarah, The Mother Bear The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil (II) La Lugubre Gondola Palmyra Lastly, I also find certain soft leather scents really cozy and comforting: Hochelaga The Arabian Dance Dancing Koi Unicorn and Ram

    The Goddess of Mischief

Wet: Lavender and...something? Hmm. Smells a bit like chemicals, the way some leather notes do on me (but it doesn't actually smell like leather). I wonder if the "inky musk" has an actual ink component to it? Reading above, I see others have speculated maybe metal, but I don't think that's it. I amp metal to high heaven and can pick it out immediately. This is like....latex? Band-Aids? The lavender note reminds me of the one from TKO, actually, and does not remind me of what I think of as "Lilith's Lavender". This gets softer as it dries, and that weird note blends in and almost disappears. It's getting quite pleasant, actually. Very relaxing. Dry: Soft, faint lavender - very clean and light. I kind of forgot about this for a couple hours, and am just catching the faint final dry down. It's not very long lasting, and it has little throw. There are other lavender scents I like much better, but it is different and interesting. I may give it another test another day.

    Huntress

WARNING! There is cinnamon in the "baked apples" - enough that I had a strong, painful reaction on my skin, which is rare for me. Be cautious! Trying this for the funnel cake! I immediately thought of Midway when I read the notes. Normally I don't go for gourmands anymore, but if there is even a chance it could be like Midway... Wet: Not Midway. There is cinnamon in this apple, and it's stomping alllll over the other notes. I get hints of the apple, but no funnel cake, or strawberry cream. Mostly just cinnamon. It's sweet and pleasant. But I have tons of scents with cinnamon. Was really hoping for funnel cake! Dry: I won't ever know, the red welt this has caused hurts enough that I am washing it off. Strongest skin reaction I have EVER had to a perfume. Ouch.

    Leather

Going back and looking at my review, Pleasures I was pure chemically smelling leather on me. Totally overwhelming and unpleasant to my nose, from wet to dry. Nobodies starts out that way too, but it quickly dries to a much softer, smoother leather scent that I quite enjoy (and I am really picky about leather) HTH!
  24. This is my body, he said, two thousand years ago. This is my blood. It was the only religion that delivered exactly what it promised: life eternal, for its adherents. There are some of us alive today who remember him. And some of us claim that he was a messiah, and some think that he was just a man with very special powers. But that misses the point. Whatever he was, he changed the world. Life everlasting: clove-smoke, benzoin, rose maroc, Jerusalem cedar, cistus, and frankincense. Wet: Cedar, benzoin, and smoky-sexy clove. Nice! Fresh cedar is never good on me, but aged it gets quite nice. Currently it's a little bit sharp and pencil shaving-y (I know that's not a real word, you get what I mean). But that clove/benzoin combo is TO DIE FOR. Clove lovers, take note. I get hints of the rose, which softens things, but doesn't take over. That bully Frank hasn't shown up yet, which I am pretty happy about - he likes to stomp all over the other notes on my skin. Dry: This is lovely. Clove, woods (which have settled nicely as this dries, no more pencil shavings) backed by sweet resins. The Frankincense is present, but behaving for once. I can't really smell the rose, which I am OK with, as it often steals the show on my skin. I do have some other clove perfumes that I really love, but I think this is beautiful and different enough that I could find a place for it in my collection, so I may need a bottle. I think this will age gloriously - it's good now, but I bet in a year or two it's STUNNING.

    Potamides

Honeysuckle is my new jam, so I had to try this! The other notes could be terrible on me though. Wet: Sooo pretty. I have never smelled a floral that smelled so utterly like "the outdoors" before. This is stunning. It's sweet, and heady, and so realistic that I can almost feel the sun on my face and hear insects. This is late spring/early summer in a bottle. The honey makes it truly special - those who love a "sugared floral" scent HAVE to try this! Those who live Wild Honeysuckle SN also have to try this. Really, just try it. Can't stop huffing! Dry: THIS IS SO PRETTY!! I really was not expecting to adore this so much. Lily often smells like wet cardboard on me, and safe smells like Thanksgiving, but this scent is pure magic. Honeyed Honeysuckle is MAGIC. I told myself no more florals - I lied. I need a bottle of this.
