    #20 Love Oil

Imp: Something mossy but floral. I really can't place it. Wet: Becoming sharp and spicy but still with that mossy green note. Dry: Once it dries down it I start to get the almond and rose other reviewers mention. Honestly I can't say if I like this or not. I'm going to have to keep it for now to experiment with.

    Twenty-One

Imp: Whew...strong martini. Wet: A bit of a sharp piney scent. Dry: Ok as it dries it is going straight up christmas tree. Interesting but not a keeper.

    Gomorrah

Imp: Wonderfully figgy with a bit of a fermented smell I'm not sure about. Wet: I'm getting vetiver I think. It is a sharp, masculine note that I usually pass on. Otherwise the fig and date are yummy. Dry: It gets mellower and almost a bit creamy but still has that masculine edge. I'll be passing this one on to Mr. Isis.

    The Scales of Deprivation

Imp: Interesting blend of sandalwood, frankincense and sage. Wet: It has the tiniest bit of lemon added on my skin. But sadly it puts me in mind of Pledge. Dry: Just musty smelling on me. Like and antique store where someone just dusted with that Lemon Pledge. I guess you don't win them all.

    Tabella

Bottle: Warm resins with the mellow somewhat oily smell of olive and a fragrant hint of sage. Wet: Very mellow. Subtle bite of ginger, richness of fig, sharp beragmot. This is a great unisex scent, those blossoms are barely evident they really seem to just be there for balance to keep the other notes from becoming too sharp. Dry:I feel like I'm getting a hint of lime, not sure where that is coming from. It seems rather herbal in the dry down. Gorgeous and complex. I'm so glad I got this one and sorry it has taken me this long to get it out and enjoy it. I do think I may have to share it with the Mr.

    Szepasszony

Imp: Sharp, sweet ozone and blossoms. Wet: Light and fresh as air, a tiny minty hint of cold, a bitter tang of salt. Dry: Wet grass and a crystalline water scent. Nothing floral on me just cold freshness. This will be wonderful in the summer!

    Aglaea

Imp: Sweet, syrupy peaches. Wet: A little amber, a little green, a lot of peach. Dry: There is something in it I really like. The myrtle I think. I'm going to have to see if I have anything else with myrtle. The peach is just too fruity for me...not my thing.

    Fairy Wine

Imp: Honey, juicy red currants and dandelion greens! Utterly evocative. Wet: Honey and fresh green with a tart red note from the currants. It has something of the tang of red wine. Dry: Whimsical and boozey, this is potent stuff...a swirl of gold and green and red. Overall: Another winner for me.

    Inez

Imp: Strong and heady vanilla musk with a halo of amber. Wet: This has to be the most gorgeous vanilla I have ever smelled. Creamy and rich spiced with resins then made even better with my favorite floral, carnation, in all its glory. Dry: As it the cedar comes out but it doesn't overwhelm the scent but mingles with the sandalwood. The scent is dryer and less sweet after a time but still gorgeous. Overall: Inez is a beauty.

    Thalassa, the Galapagos Mermaid

Imp: Sharp salty water with a bitter edge and an unusual green, maybe the kelp. Wet: The first thing that hits me is almond and a bit of jasmine but the salt water quickly splashes in. The sweet notes seem to advance and retreat changing places with the bitter like the lapping of waves. Dry: It softens to a salty almond and benzoin with a whisper of frankincense. Very close to the skin. Overall: Must have a bottle before the Carnaval leaves town.

    Valentine of Rome

Imp: There is a lot of cypress in there along with the frankincense and myrrh. The scent is very sharp and bright. Wet: Cypress and smoke with the blood accord that is a bit off putting to me. Overall rather too masculine. I'm already pretty certain this is going to Mr. Isis. Dry: The blood note fades and leaves a heady blend of cypress and incense. Not for me but It will be great on a guy.

    The Darkling Thrush

Imp: Icy cold violet and iris. Chilly but enticing. Wet: Fresh and sweet with a bit of the cold note I loved in Crow Moon. The orris has something powdery about it. I feel like I get a touch of pine. I haven't read the reviews for it so I'm not sure if that is my imagination or not. Dry: It had a soapy moment but that has passed. The warm amber is just a tiny whisper of the thrush's song. Sometimes I think I hear it and other times winter seems absolute. Mainly snowy florals with that magical, unexpected touch of pine lingering.

    Mead Moon

Imp: Golden but spicy and herbal at the same time. The ginger really stands out as do the rosemary and lemon. Wet: Now there is the honey I was expecting. Sweet honey with just a powdering of spices; nutmeg clove, cinnamon and ginger. Dry: As it dries the rosemary and lemon re-appear on the edges. The honey is so far blended into the other notes that it comes across as a sort of sweetness in the drydown. Overall: Gorgeous but not at all what I expected. There is something a bit foodie about it. It reminds me of baking cookies.

    Dragon's Reverie

Imp: Smoky poppy and heady ylang ylang. Wet: Sort of a confused scent, sweet but sort of dusty. Dry: It just disappears and leaves a very faint bit of dragon's blood sweetness. I'll be passing this one on. It just doesn't have enough power on me.

    Dragon's Milk

Imp: More honey than anything else. Just a hint of the dragon's blood and vanilla. Wet: Really an amazing soft, smooth honey scent. The dragon's blood gives it a hint of the exotic and the vanilla tempers the sweetness. Dry: It starts to become a little more floral,a little less sweet...still this is truly the ambrosia of the faeries! I many need a bottle in the future.

    Phantasm

Imp: Nice sharp lemon verbena. Wet: Soft sweet jasmine balanced with the cripser notes of green tea and verbena. Dry: The neroli joins the jasmine, the verbena seems to fade but the tea note comes in stronger to replace it. Overall: I really like this. It is fresh and delicately scented. Perfect for hot days. It will be joining F5 and Envy as my too hot for perfume scents.

    Penny Dreadful

Imp: Spicy with a touch of dirt. Wet: Nice warm gingerbread sitting on dirt. Dry: Still a spicy, bakery type smell. The dirt is less prominent as it dries. Overall: It has a nice warm gingery scent. Nothing really floral like I expected. The dirt note is just off putting to me though and at the same time it is too foody for me. Off to my swap pile.

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

Imp: Oh my...beautiful violet with a touch of vanilla. What a pretty and unexpected combination. Wet: Much more of a creamy vanilla scent. The violet is just a dew scented whisper. Dry: This is just so light and pretty. The violet delicately tickles the back of my nose once in a while. Otherwise it remains a soft, milky vanilla. Very close to the skin. Overall: I was just going to test imps this morning but I think I have found what I will be wearing for the day. Too pretty to pass up.

    Moscow

Imp: Very rich...jasmine and amber with a sophisticated musk. Wet: Sweeter on but a very heady floral. It reminds me of my nemesis at work B&BW Velvet Tuberose. Dry: A powdery, ambery floral. Carnation never appears and neither do the bergamot and tangerine. Overall: Doesn't play well on my skin. Off to the swap pile.

    Libertarian

Rather manly on me too. The clove is nice and there is a bit of citrus underneath. Very spicy and aromatic. I want to say it may have some balsam as well. Mine is off to swap but I'm glad I got to sniff it on it's way through.

    E Pluribus Unum

This is just plain enchanting. It is not a strong scent...people won't smell you from a distance but up close you get a multitude of wildflowers. All day long it seemed that every time I sniffed my locket I would "find" something different in my bouquet. It has some fresh green notes as well. A fragrant expression of unity well realized.

    Thorns

Imp: Sharp, smoky and woody. Wet: My nose is really having trouble picking notes out of this one but there is a metallic edge for blood and a salty tang of tears. The vine scent itself really puzzles me. It is a dry woody vine not green. I really just can't spot some of the notes I'm seeing in other reviews. Dry: The blood and tears have faded and left me with that woody scent I don't have a definition for. Overall: I'm going to pass it on to Mr. Isis to try. It says man to me.

    Rapunzel

Imp: A wet woody iris. Very delicate. Wet: It definitely has some of the lettuce from The Witch's Garden mingled with just the faintest touch of wild flowers. The scent itself is not very strong. Rapunzel is smelling the scents of the garden and woods from high up in her tower. Dry: Scarcely any scent left at all on me. Just a whisper of the sweet scent of a girl's hair drying in the sun. Overall: Pretty but not the gorgeous green scent that The Witch's Garden was on me. I'll tuck it away and try it again in the Spring.

    Sheol

Imp: Resinous. The copal really dominates with just a hint of the florals. I can smell the spicy sweet of the stargazer lily. Wet: Beautiful collection of flowers. The iris is perfect along with the stargazers. There is another that smells very bright and fresh that must be heliotrope. The copal and tonka give it atmosphere. It is a little bit somber. Dry: In the dry down the notes begin to lose distinction for me leaving a sweet dusky purple scent.

    The Magi

Bottle: Frankincense and a touch of vanilla. Wet: Frankincense and myrrh with a touch of a metallic note I seem to remember from one of the Steamworks scents. A waft of spices...and here is where it gets weird...rootbeer. Not A&W the good stuff that is brewed at a microbrewery. I just has some last night and this is dead on. I both love it and find it not very christmasy. Dry: Much more of an ambergris scent on the drydown. I still feel like the cumin and coriander are there just faintly. The grape interesting. The rootbeer...still there a bit. Overall: It is not at all what I expected. It is what I call a challenging scent. It really makes me thing about what the heck is going on in it. My hunch is that this one will keep getting better with age and we will become good friends. Interesting to see all the cola references in other reviews.
