    Alice

At first the rose is very strong and sweet like a little girl's perfume but after a few minutes it settles down and lets the other notes come out...odd spicy carnation...bright sharp bergamot and the smooth milk and honey to blend them together. A big winner to me...I love carnation in almost anything.

    Kitsune-Tsuki

When I first got this (about a year ago) I thought it was kinda meh so I haven't worn it in forever. Wow did it age well. The plum in now very full bodied with a supporting cast of very individual florals and just the tiniest hint of musk to keep it from going too sweet. If you have this tucked away I would recommend giving it a fresh sniff!

    Envy

Very crisp and cool with a sharp note of lavender. Perfect for wearing on a hot sticky day. I just used up the last of my imp. I'm fairly certain I'll need a 5 ml before the summer heat really amps up.

    Forbidden Fruit

This is such a fun happy blend. It reminds me of a combination of how I remember Clinique Happy (which was my scent in college many years ago...lol) and Juicy Fruit gum. I don't get floral from it really more of a candy note.

    Lorelei

It takes a while for the Neroli to settle down and let the other notes out but when it does the results are very gentle and surprisingly a bit melancholy despite the citrus which I usually associate with an upbeat vibe. The sandalwood is a mellow base like calm waters. A beautiful scent but not overly evocative of its name to me. I would have expected something more watery and tempestuous.

    The Hanging Gardens

Before I even pull off the cap I have a strong wiff of some exotic spice. When I pull off the cap that blossoms into a wet smell of pears and heady tropical flowers. On the skin I can begin to sift through some of the notes. There's that dry rose, the pomegranate and fig...something woody that might be the grapevine or the ebony. There is so much to smell here I can't stop sniffing myself:) It reminds me of walking in our botanical gardens when the sun is shining and the heat mingles the scents of all the flowers but much more so with the profusion of fruits.

    The Temptation

In the imp: A giddy sweetness of apples and apple blossom. I assume it is the peach blossom and I don't know the difference. On: I can pick out wiffs of rose and lily but the apple scent dominates among the fresh flirty florals. This is a great bouyant full blown spring/nearly summer sort of floral. Later: A lovely soft fruity rose.

    Baghdad

In the imp: I get a lot of very sharp bergamot & mandarin along with a warm golden amber. The scent in the imp feels rather masculine. On: The citrusy notes dissapear and I mainly get a soft sandalwood with just a hint of powdery musk and amber. Drydown: Later in the day all that is left is nice sandalwood. Before I started using BPAL I would have liked Baghdad a lot. It is the sort of scent I gravitate towards. Now that my horizons are expanding it seems sort of ordinary. Nice but I don't love it. I'll try it one more time then pass it on to my husband who is addicted to sandalwood. I'd be curious to see of some of the other notes develop on him.

    Milk Moon 2007

Bottle: Smells like homemade fruit yogurt. There is that sourness others mentioned. At first I was afraid this might not work for me. On my skin: Wet it smelles like yeasty warm bread with a mild undertone of date and fig. No real milk smell. As it dries the yeasty scent goes away and the fruits get more complex. It seems like every time I sniff it a different one pops out. At different times I get fig, grape, date and even what reminds me of bread and wine. I'm liking it better but wondering where the pomagranate is. Later on: On my skin the warm creamy honeyed milk finally comes out and the fruits are only a hint of complexity. This is just gorgeous and comforting. It makes me think of my mom. In my locket: The fruits really hang in there and for a long time I get a mix of the pomaganate I was hoping for and fig with grape and date adding sweetness filling in the background. The fruits are very warmed as though they are heaped in abundance in a sunny bazaar stall. Much later this too mellows to the honeyed milk scent it had on my skin. Overall I'm enraptured. This is nothing like what I would normally choose, I usually wear something with at least a background floral. It doesn't smell like my image of me but the experience of it is so lush and comforting. I was worried about the sour note at first but it seems to go away very quickly. I can see myself wearing this to sleep.

    Tzadikim Nistarim

On me Tzadikim Nistarim is very sweet but a dignified sweet (not at all candy-like). It does make me think of golden light. I don't really get the fruit notes a lot of people are talking about. There is something lofty and pure about it very different from other oils I've smelled. I'm guessing the olive is what seems so different. I really enjoyed reading about the inspiration since it was a new story to me. I love all the new ideas BPAL exposes me to along with the lovely scents. I had been thinking it was nice but not for me but my husband commented on how gorgeous it was as soon as he got home from work so I'll be wearing it again.

    Crow Moon

I have a hard time seperating all the florals in Crow Moon but overall it gives me the feeling of the smells of spring blowing on a cold wind. Very evocative of walking in the woods in March. Late in the day it smells like peeled green twigs with a hint of daffodil on me.

    White Rabbit

White Rabbit started out a nice spicy tea scent after about half an hour the honey really came out and smelled just like the way I like to drink my tea which made me smile. It seemed like a whiff of something fresh (the linen) lingered all day as well. I don't really smell the pepper. I wish I did since I love pepper as a note. My 5 year old kept coming to smell me and said I smelled white like snow that is good to eat

    Fallen

Here goes my first review:) Imp: Mostly amber and some sort of soft undefined floral. Wet: On my skin Fallen just blossoms and becomes amazing. Violet and vetiver join the amber along with an icy note which is so crip and clear I can feel the breath cold in my nostrils. Dry: More of the musk and sandalwood comes out but I still smell the violets with an undertone of chill. Beth really captured a sense of majesty, pride and self-containment. Despite the florals it seems more genderless than feminine perfect for an angel. Later: A fairly strong amber and violet scent lingers many hours later. Locket: When not on my skin Fallen is very similar but warmer. That chilly note that was so unique doesn't show up. The scent is still pretty but less unique
