Wine grapes, myrrh, frankincense and olive leaf, and the warm scent of offertory cakes. Opening the bottle, I smell butter mixed with wine, as if I were cooking a rich meal. On my skin, it sweetens up and adds some light spices into the mix along with the olive leaf. I have had it on all day and the scent still lingers. It is light and fragrant and not foody at all.

I was hesitant about purchasing Bearded Lady since rose frangrances and I usually do not get along but this is not overpoweringly rose, just a hint of it. There are traces of amber and a touch of lily. This is a scent I would invision a Victorian woman wearing to a Tea Party. Overall, extremely wearable and lovely!

I am trying to decide if I smell incredibly sexy or like Fruit Loops cereal! Is that the musk coming out or the smell of decaying florals? At first whiff in the bottle, it smelled glorious so I freely slathered this on. Oh My! I am on the island of Hawaii surrounded by tropical fruit gone haywire-throw in a few spicy plants and that is what I smell like. Maybe to get into the spirit of this scent I should put my tap shoes on, add a basket of fruit on top of my head and go for it! Yes, I am into it now-not so bad as it is drying down. It is a little more subtle now. The decay smell is being replaced by a more beautiful blending of tropical florals and fruits. It's more like a soft breeze, a beautiful memory, a wear me every day scent. I am very glad I didn't wash this one off and waited for this to run the complete course.

Spooky, from Limited Editions, Winter 2003: This smells very rummy in the bottle but once applied the rum disappears immediately. All I can smell now in a light minty tone. I don't smell coconut, chocolate, vanilla, cocoa or any other notes that are supposed to be present in Spooky-just mint. Overall I am a little disappointed in my body chemistry eating up all the other notes in here-all my favorite notes. I guess that this one goes to my daughter-she will enjoy all the yummy goodness that I smell IN the bootle not ON my skin.

Kindly moon smells faintly of peaches with sweet springtime florals. It is very light and not too over powering on the floral note. There is just the right amount of vanilla and musk in there to off set this to make sure it not just another floral scent. After wearing it for awhile there is a sweetness that emerges that really brings out the best in this fragrance. Guess I will have to start stalking Ebay!

On first sniff, this reminds me of dry chocolate cake batter. It took me awhile to pin point the smell, but that is what the first impression was to me. After wearing Candy Butcher awhile and letting it warm to my skin, all the notes started to blend better. The dry batter scent turned into a cocoa vanilla cream. It could be a little sweeter though. While nice I think I would like to try it blended with something else-snake oil perhaps?

Devil's Night 2005 :D This smells deceptively light and simple in the bottle but in reality it is gorgeous and more complex than I had originally thought. On first sniff, I thought it was a nice scent, but once I slathered it on, the notes just exploded! It is a very warm, faintly spicy (yum), deliciously musky, sexy sweet, with a wisp of smoke fragrance that I wish I could bathe in! I have the one bottle, now I know that I have to be on the look out for more!

Sugar Cookie 2005 This was offered on Ebay by BPAL and I was lucky enough to win. Every Christmas I bake cut out cookies from my Grandma's recipe-I started helping her when I was little. The recipe itself calls for 3 tablespoons of vanilla. After the cookies are baked, they are frosted with vanilla frosting-total vanilla overload! You know how pure vanilla smells? It is strong, maybe a little sweet with a touch of rum. Sugar Cookie-the scent-is just like that. It is sweet vanilla with a wonderful, warm, yummy cookie dough undertone. Wish I had several bottles!

I was very fortunate to have won Peacock Queen when BPAL offered it up on Ebay. It smells quite lovely-soft and sexy in the bottle. I normally am not a rose wearer but really wanted to try this just from the reviews alone. I dabbed a little on and then it actually smelled like a dozen blood red roses had just been picked, with a little spice thrown in. It is both a romantic and a compellingly haunting scent. It is not overwhelming which some rose fragrances tend to be, but very subtle and easy to wear.

I won a bottle of this from the BPAL auction on Ebay and I'm glad I did! When I first applied it though I kept smelling my wrist and then reading the description because the two just didn't add up. All I smelled was mint. But after an hour or so the mint receded and the beautiful notes came out. The spices are truly wonderful-cinnamon and clove with a touch of sweetness. The gorgeous musk blends with vanilla to make this a smooth, creamy scent on me. The only regret I have is that I don't have more than one bottle!

Destroying Angel is a very sweet cloying herbal perfume scent that does not go well with my body chemistry. It was very lovely in the bottle but once applied, took a quick nose plunge. I have to agree with Queen Fae that there are very evil mushrooms in this fragrance that seem to grow when applied on my wrist. Off to swaps!

This reminds me of a long, hot summer day when I was a teenager, and we would go deep into the forest to get away from the heat. We would sit on a boulder with our feet in the water and watch it move sluggishly along. Bayou smells like the water did when we would kick up the bottom of it and the silt would come to the top for a minute and you could smell that dirty earth. The sun would peek through the dense forest and heat up the tress and the flowers growing wild there. We would pick the flowers and that yucky sticky fluid would get everywhere and smell so strange. Add together all those scents and throw in a little crushed ferns and that is Bayou. A pleasant surprise!

This smells very nice in the imp-I was excited to try it. Once applied-whoa! Very thick, heavy, fruit and floral. After a half hour or so, it dried down into a lovely floral, spicy fragrance. It still seems heavy but that just may mean that a little more time needs to pass. I smell more lilies than gardenias and nice spicy undertones. This is an exotic scent that just keeps getting better and better. Would I purchase a bottle? At first I thought this was a winter blend, then I changed my mind to a summer blend. Now, I've decided that this is a very versatile scent that will change as often as I change my clothes. I would definitely purchase a bottle!

I ordered a bottle of this because of what everyone was saying about it. I had every intention of putting it away to age for at least six months. But first I would try it just to see the difference between new and old. I haven't received the new yet but someone gave me a very aged imp of Velvet and it is lovely! It smells like a chocolate angel food cake in the imp-just yummy. Once applied it is cocoa and vanilla with a little incense/musk aroma to it -but just a hint to make it interesting. It is very smooth-just like the name implies. Now I know what to expect from the bottle. It stays put away it a dark cupboard until it comes out smelling like this.

Growing up in rural Northern Minnesota, Midnight on the Midway reminds me of the scent of the night, right after a quick summer lightening storm. The days would be so hot we would be praying for a storm... and then suddenly it would hit... and be so refreshing. Afterwards, you could smell the dewy, fragrant night flowers that always smelled sweeter after the rain. My hand smells like I ran through a field of tall grasses and mixed flowers and they brushed against me! It is simply beautiful and I think I have finally found my summer scent! Thank you Beth!

I purchase a bottle of this because of the ingredients: coconut, apricot, opium, etc. and new I would love it. It had everything that I new my skin chemistry loved. I opened the bottle and sniffed and once again, I was correct-a lovely scent! I slathered it on. Oh no! LEMON! Not a little bit, but screaming at me lemon. This was not what I was expecting at all! Okay, I'll just wait a while and see what happens... After several hours, this dried down into a beautiful fragrance-very lightly floral notes with a little vanilla and musk somewhere in the background. The lemon is still there but way in the far reaches as an under note. It really did turn out to be as beautiful on as it smelled in the bottle. The lesson I learned is, on this particular scent, a little goes a long way!

This smells wonderful in the bottle! Once applied, it reminds me of freshly popped caramel corn! Rich and yummy! I also get small glimpses of brown sugar, butter and nutty goodness. After smelling this, I wish I new where I could go and find some!

I was able to nab a bottle of this on Ebay-I am fortunate. I read reviews where this is described as big, fluffy, pink flowers. To me, this is big, bold, fuschia flowers. This scent is rich and full bodied with the florals blending perfectly together. I can smell something spicy there too. After wearing it an hour or so, I get a vanilla note coming through-very alluring. This is a very rich, very sweet fragrance-I am very happy I was able to get it!

What attracted me to this scent was the calla lily. I was very excited to be able to obtain a bottle of this wonderful scent. It is a very nice, light floral happy green scent. It is very uplifting in a strange way because I have always associated calla lilies and wisterias with funerals. The softness of the violets and lilac coupled with the musk make this a fabulous and must have fragrance.

This smells gorgeous in the imp. The first hour this was gorgeous on me, after that, it turned soapy. This is a very heavy, syrupy musky scent that I can smell the decayed florals in. I don't detect any aquatics at all. Unfortunately, this is not a scent that I will be ordering. I do believe that this would be a winter fragrance, however.

This is a very light eucalyptus, sweet lemony, orange citrus scent. There is a little spice thrown in there too. It is great in the imp and better once applied. I am still on the look out for a summer scent, and had requested this from someone on Ebay. Not this exactly, but asked for a recommendation on a light, refreshing fragrance. I have been wearing it all day, and so far, it has not disappointed me.

A winters horror: smoke and stillness, faded incense and the metallic tang of blood. I was given a frimp of this with a purchase on Ebay from a forumite. I have to say that I love this scent. From the description, I didn't think that I would because of the metallic blood blend. But this is gorgeous! The incense and spicy notes are quite soft and sweet. I do believe that there is amber in it that adds to the mystery. It is a very light fragrance-totally unexpected. This lasts a long time too! A must have! http://www.bpal.org/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/wub2.gif

Warm, cozy gingerbread spiced with nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. This is the 2005 version. I LOVE this scent! This reminds me of warm ginger cookies that are rolled in sugar and cinnamon. The scent stays with you all day. I just can't seem to stop smelling my wrists. I love it so much I snagged another bottle on Ebay!

I love this scent! Yum! I didn't think I would because of the rose in it but I don't smell rose at all. I smell vanilla, butter rum, black current and a touch of spice. This reminds me of a current pastry I make at Christmas. I guess I don't have to wait until Christmas, I can make it now! Now look what you did, Beth!!! I can blame the extra weight gain on you!

Snow Moon is a beautiful winter scent that reminds me of a Northern Minnesota winter. It smells like icy snowball fights, and the crisp winter air that is so cold that you cannot breathe. It don't smell pine at all but rather the beautiful frozen woody birch smell that I will never forget as I dodge the snow balls. Then off I go to the part of the forest where it is a bit warmer. To the fresh earth and trampled leaves in the places where the snow has melted and new flowers have started to just peek through and start to spread their fragrances. This scent has really brought back wonderful memories for me- Thanks Beth!
