    The Governess

In the imp: Green tea and sweet violets. Wet: A touch more white musk, but not enough to be off-putting. Dry: Again, notes that usually don't work on me but are gorgeous in this blend. Vanilla's the only one I can't pick out but I think that may be what's sweetening it up.

    Bly

In the imp: Strong meadow flowers. Wet: Same. Dry: The flowers are much fainter now and the stone note has come out. They're wonderfully balanced, to me it really does remind me of an old, stone house standing in a meadow. The whole Turn Of The Screw series is a win for me, and I'm glad because it's one of my favourite stories.

    Peter Quint

In the imp: Balsam and bay laurel? Wet: This one's full of stuff I'm either unfamiliar with or that doesn't work on my skin so I have no idea what's going on. It's sweet and a little peppery. Dry: Wow, this really reminds me of a horse stable in the best way. Sort of like sweet, damp hay, worn leather and warm animal fur, it's so strange. I'm so surprised with the leather note, it's not screaming at me and it works! I dunno how the scents in this series can contain so many notes that usually smell like absolute crap on me and make them work so beautifully.

    Miss Jessell

In the imp: Rose water Wet: Rose petals Dry: What I assume is the guaic wood has come out now, but the myrrh and roses are still there, neither one is stronger they just sort of fade in and out and the other takes over. There's not much left in the little imp I was given, so I'll have to try and be stingy with this oe 'til I find a larger size!

    The Gentleman

In the imp: A sweet, herbal cologne. Wet: Slightly cinnamony. I'm not sure where that's coming from based on the ingredients, but I'm OK with it. Dry: There is so much that shouldn't work on me here. White musk, lime rind, tobacco leaf and lilac are usually terrible on me but this is brilliant. The cologne has faded to a base for a perfect blend of the herbs and flowers and the lime is peeking out. It's not as masculine as I was expecting either, so if I can, I'd get a full size one.

    Almond Blossom

In the bottle: A very delicate, sweet blossom. Wet: Slightly sharper now, with the slightest hint of almond (as in the nut). Dry: Still blossomy, sliiiightly soapy with a little sweet mint maybe? So glad I got this, it's beautiful.

    Wolf Spider

In the imp: Coconut and I think chamomile? Wet: Vanilla and patchouli Dry: Vanilla and patchouli up close, but there's definitely something coconutty I keep noticing when wearing it. I think it's a wonderfully expressive blend, I've never sniffed a spider, but I kinda wouldn't be surprised if he smelt like this?

    Araw Ng Mga Patay

In the imp: Weird mashup of desserts and resin Wet: Same. Dry: It's calmed down now and it's not giving me an instant "NO!" reaction like before but I still don't like it. Unfortunately, nearly all these notes are new to me, so I can't distinguish what it is I dislike. I occasionally get a waft of sweet flowers but that's about the best I can do. Sorry for the useless "review"!

    Salma

In the imp: Inky apples Wet: Straight up apple shampoo. Dry: Hmm, the apple seems to have gone south... there's a strange musky edge that wasn't there before and it's blanketing everything else out. Such a shame!

    The Tomb of Zai

In the imp: Lemony frankincense? Wet: Hmm. Yeah, lemony frankincense. Dry: A very light, slightly floral incense. Lovely.

    Buen Viage

In the imp: Quite woody with a lovely blended spice edge Wet: Oh. Sandalwood :\ Dry: Yep, dry, warm sandalwood.

    Lola

In the imp: sweet and fresh, the thyme gives it a shower gel edge. Wet: Something almost bitter and woody. The clove and moss perhaps? Dry: I'm pretty much just getting the pomegranate and patchouli now, it's not how I expected it to turn out at all, especially as so many notes make this one up. Really nice, and an impressive blend.

    Aurelia

In the imp: It smells like tomato leaves, planty, like a greenhouse. I'm guessing this is the squished berries, I get that from everything with "squished berries" as a note. Wet: Red currants are coming out more now. Dry: Strawberry and a touch of mint. I'm not one for fruity scents as perfumes, so may put this in a room diffuser because it's too nice not to use.

The Nun and the Courtly Lady

In the imp: Tobacco flower Wet: Sandalwood and benzoin, still a bit of tobacco flower. Dry: The same as it was wet, really. Could work well on either men or women.

    A Sudden Invitation

In the imp: Sandalwood, but watery? Wet: The mintiness is creeping in. Dry: This is pretty much all sandalwood, sweetened by plum. I do wish the plum was more prominent. I don't get on with sandalwood (makes me feel sick!), so if my mother doesn't want it, it's one for the swap pile, unfortunately.

    Daddy

In the imp: Sweet lilacs. Wet: Definitely getting the tea now, the fougere too. Dry: Sweet, manly licorice. Not strictly masculine, but it smells quite a bit like men's shower gel.

    The Vine

In the imp: Sweet pears but very faint. Wet: Pear and a quite sharp honey note. Dry: The honey's gone and it's just a subtle, sweet pear. Too sweet for my tastes, but it'll be lovely one someone else.

    The Rending of the Rock

In the imp: Nope. Stone with something unpleasant phlegminess, eww. Wet: The same, but worse. Dry: OK, that hideous phlegm-like smell has gone. It smells like blood, clay and musk and it's actually much nicer than the imp/wet test was, but still not one for me.

    Ekhidna

In the imp: Sweet, musky myrrh. Wet: Myrrh. Dry: Oh no, it's gorgeous! I got it as a freebie from a very generous forum member and didn't realise it was discontinued. It's pretty much just myrrh and black pepper and I'm surprised I love it so much. Hopefully I can pick up a bottle some time.

Looking Glass, Looking Glass Bath Oil

In the imp: Oily, warm, yellow flowers. Wet: Same. It's not unpleasant but it does smell like something I should be cooking with rather than wearing. Dry: The roses have peeped out more, but the oiliness is still there (I used it as a body oil rather than dump the whole imp in the bath and I'm not sure how old it is, so perhaps that's why). Shame, I adore roses.

    Al Azif

In the imp: Sweetened resins. Wet: Resins and a slight hint of smoke. Dry: I don't get anything sinister from this at all, it's like incense and sugared almonds on me. Not quite what I expected, but I love it!
  22. d0gbones

    Morocco

In the imp: Light, creamy spices. Wet: Same plus a slight floral edge and maybe some almond? Dry: Carnation, light musk and spices. It's nice, but not a keeper.
  23. d0gbones

    Cathedral

In the imp: Frankincense Wet: Frankincense and that great polished wood note all the "church" fragrances have Dry: Pretty much Penitence minus the waxy, candle-like note I get with it.
  24. d0gbones

    Tushnamatay

In the imp: hmm. Something powdery? Wet: Oh dear, is that sandalwood? It's very bright and a touch creamy whatever it is. Dry: Pretty much stays the same from putting it on to fading away. This'd be a great one for sandalwood fans, but I'm definitely not one of them.

    Poisoned Apple

In the imp: Fruity floral and a bit like bathroom cleaner (not in a bad way) Wet: Sour apples, the kind that are perfectly edible but just tangy enough to make your mouth water. Dry: Still sour apples. It's like a really fresh, natural version of the Donna Karan apple one.
