This is gorgeous! The pear is the most dominant scent on my skin, with light floral notes underneath. It has wonderful throw and staying power - I've been wearing it for over 10 hours now and when I put my nose to my wrist I can still smell it without difficulty. I love this blend so much! It is a definite must-buy in bottle form!

In the imp: yikes! I really didn't like the smell of this in the imp, so much so that I almost didn't even want to try it out. Too bitter, dry, and almost masculine. On the skin: Much better! It's still sharp and spicy, but very warm and sexy, and not nearly as bitter as it smelled in the imp. It's much more feminine now. The cinnamon is the most prominent note on my skin, and I absolutely LOVE cinnamon, so I'm pleased. This is a lovely blend, and proof that first sniffs can be deceiving. I'll keep my imp, but I'll have to wear it another time or two to decide whether or not I want a bottle. ETA: I now love this blend so much that I ordered a full bottle. It just arrived today, and I applied it right after I got out of the bath, which probably wasn't a good idea. OW OW OW OW OUCH! My wrists have been burning like crazy for the past 10 minutes or so, but my level of devotion to Saw-Scaled Viper is so high that even that's not discouraging me. Now it's beginning to calm down a bit and cooperate with my angry, red wrists. Yay. I love this blend! And hey, I have to admit, I do like a little pain with my pleasure from time to time.

I thought I was going to love this, so I was incredibly heartbroken when The Queen of Hearts turned to soap on me! The cherry lingers for MAYBE 30 seconds before it disappears and gives way to a very sharp, generic soap.

Even though I love vanilla cream and had a feeling I would like this, all the hype I've been reading somehow convinced me that this would be a scent I'd end up hating. Well, I was wrong, and I'm not sure whether or not that's for the better, because my chances of ever getting my hands on another cheap decant (or even bottle!) of this are slim to none, and that makes me so heartbroken! Underpants is foody without being TOO foody or overwhelming on the sweetness. Not only does it smell like butter rum and vanilla cream, but I'm getting hints of caramel too...or maybe that's just a combination of the two. It's creamy, warm and sweet, and I'm really upset that this is such a hard blend to find because I can't afford to pay tons of money for more. I hope it's resurrected in the future.

That's a good one! I love Cinema Strange. Here are some I've thought of recently: The Cruxshadows - Monument ----> La Belle Dame Sans Merci. There's a spoken word part towards the end of the song from the poem by Keats. Nine Inch Nails - Closer ----> O. Psyclon Nine - Harlot ----> Harlot, of course. David Bowie - Golden Years ----> Versailles. Clan of Xymox - Jasmine and Rose ----> Nuit

Misk U smells absolutely delicious. *drools* About 20 minutes after putting it on I actually had to go pour myself a glass of wine because the boozy smell wafting up towards my nostrils was making me ache for a glass of something sweet and alcoholic VERY badly. I'm definitely getting Irish coffee here, and I can definitely smell a library here - something dusty and comforting, very evocative of a university setting.

This smells absolutely delicious, like freshly-baked cake with thick, creamy, decadent vanilla frosting. There's also something very fruity here, which I can only assume are the red and black currants. On second thought, this is like a vanilla-frosted cake with strawberries and blueberries on top! Eat Me is making me hungry, so much so that I'm tempted to gnaw at my own wrist.

This scent makes me long for October again - crisp autumn nights, burning bonfires beneath starry skies, apple cider, candy apples, and of course, PUMPKINS! Pumpkin Queen is beautiful...the epitome of a regal, feminine pumpkin scent. The main notes I'm getting here are pumpkin, ginger, orange peel and mandarin, and they blend together wonderfully, creating a soft, warm, slightly spicy scent on my skin. I wish this wasn't an LE and that it was available year-round, because I'll be upset when my imp is gone!

Smells exactly how it's described: the perfect combination of sweet, subtle rose with just the right amount of spicy cinnamon. It manages to somehow be pretty and extremely sexual at the same time. I put it on before bed last night, but unfortunately I didn't have any obvious sexual dreams. Then again, I had been drinking so that could have had something to do with it.

I love amber, sweet pea, and vanilla, so I absolutely adore this scent! The sweet pea is the prominent note with hints of vanilla and amber underneath, just the right combination to be sweet and creamy at the same time. It smells like a freshly-baked yellow cake with thick, whipped pink frosting on top, and it's making me want to gnaw on my wrist. Beautiful scent..I'll have to get some more of this!

This one is all chocolate and roses, and a very nice blend for this time of year, even though I hate Valentine's Day. Nothing about it made me go "wow, this is amazing," but it's a soft, warm scent that smells very pretty on my skin. Who would have ever thought the scent of chocolate and flowers could be captured in a bottle? I'm not sure I'll be getting more of this in the future, but I'm keeping my imp, because it's a lovely, creative creation.

To me, Xanthe smells like Jailbait's older, more mature, more worldly sister. The sweet bubble-gum scent is light, and I can definitely smell the fruity influences of apple and guava here, as well as a spicy undertone that I can only guess is the pepper. It's gorgeous on the dry-down...I think I might have to get myself a bottle of this before CD leaves town for good!

I smell like a peppermint candle! Or just a candy cane, really, but now that Christmas is gone and I've been burning candles, this reminds me of just why I love peppermint candles so much. I really do want to lick my wrist, this smells so delicious, but I'm sure it doesn't taste as good as it smells.

First thought: Wow! This is intense, and it has some amazing staying power and throw. At first it was a little too sharp-edged for me (stinging florals), but now that I've had it on for a few hours the scent is much softer and prettier. I'll keep my imp but I don't think this will be a future 5 ml purchase. Side note: I've actually been to Versailles, and despite the fact that I'm not positively in love with this blend, it's an absolutely GORGEOUS place and this scent really does bring back my memories of it - the intricate gardens in the sunshine, glittering gold fabrics in rooms preserved over time as they were years ago...in my mind's eye I can also see the Versailles of long ago. This scent encompasses the poise and elegance of the society Versailles was home to, and its preservation to this day.

I agree with The Cure songs...some of those would smell fabulous.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
ForeverLastcXs replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
What about something similar to Curve Crush? I was hooked on that for the longest time before discovering BPAL, and I don't plan on getting rid of what's left of the bottle I have anytime soon, even if it does go to waste. -
When I opened my imp and took the first sniff, it wasn't how I expected it to be at all, and I became reluctant to try it on because I was sure I would dislike the scent on my skin. However, I went back to it tonight and decided to test it out while I was alone at home (because we all know there's nothing worse than trying out a scent that doesn't work with your skin chemistry when you're out in public wearing it all day) and was pleasantly surprised with how much BETTER Blood Kiss smelled on my skin. It took at least 10 minutes until after the scent had dried for me to distinguish the differences, and as time continued to pass, I found myself liking it more and more. Blood Kiss has a raw, feral edge to it that can work equally as well on a man as it can on a woman. The vanilla eludes me, but cherries, red wine, and the other included scents stand out. Blood Kiss is very full-bodied, complex, and sexual in a very appealing, androgynous way. I'm not sure of whether or not I'll be buying a 5 mL in the future, but I'll most definitely keep my imp and use it up.

This scent is GORGEOUS, and I do believe I am in love. My first impression was of vanilla, but a very lush, warm, soft, creamy vanilla that makes me think of the thickest, most luxurious vanilla ice cream I've ever had. This scent definitely gives off an aura of nostalgia; I can imagine a woman wearing this as she's sitting in a pool of clear, dappled sunshine streaming through the blinds of an old, dusty attic, persuing faded, tied up love letters and bits of her grandmother's antique lace doilies and garments. It's a scent that seems both happy and sad, in several ways.

I got Jailbait as a frimp along with an order I purchased off of a lovely lj seller. To be honest, when I first smelled the scent in the imp, I didn't think I would like it on my skin. In the bottle, the scent is sheer bubblegum, and while I love bubblegum, it's not something I'd think about slathering all over myself. However, the scent became a lot more subdued once I applied it to my wrists and neck. The bubblegum is still there - a very sticky, pink scent - and while it's still a very youthful scent, it's a bit more mature smelling on my skin than it is in the bottle. I'll definitely keep this one and use it up, but I'm not sure whether or not I'll be buying a bigger bottle in the future. Time, and more repeated usage, will tell.

The rose is the dominant scent given off by my skin with Ophelia, but it's not overwhelming. It's nicely backed up by a light, aquatic base, replete with the scent of water lilies. This scent is very reminiscent of Ophelia, and I love it! It dries down to a very subtle, feminine, delicate scent, and it seems to agree with me very well. It's on my tentative list for future 5 ml buys.

I absolutely adore Blood Lotus, and I already know I want to get a 5 ml of this one when my finances will allow. The scent is sweet in the bottle, but wasn't so sweet that it completely turned me off in one sniff. Then again, florals and I generally get along, so that's not much of a surprise. For the first 20 minutes or so, the scent is a little TOO sweet, but throughout the day it becomes a lot more subtle and really exudes femininity, confidence and sheer sex appeal. That's how I feel when I wear this one, at least. I can't refrain from repeatedly sniffing my wrists with this, nor can I make myself believe how incredibly good I smell! This one's a keeper.
