  1. This is a stellar beeswax scent! There is just a suggestion of chalk in it (I do not get dust) to keep it interesting. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I do not get a sweet honey, but pretty much a a straight forward beeswax perfume.

  2. Finally got my hands on this one and it was well worth the effort! As mentioned above, it is a gingerbread that is not too foody and enhanced with just enough nag champa incense to balance the blend out. I was a little alarmed at first spray, because it did for a moment smell like baked goods, but as soon as the spices come forward, the delight begins.

  3. Hmmm...haven't reviewed this yet and it is one of my beloved! Generally strawberry is not a note I gravitate towards, but it works in HG for me. In this case because it is perfectly tempered with the orris root. It is a very creamy strawberry flavored vanilla, the sweetness cut with the beautiful orris and musk.

  4. This is one of those "I can't stop sniffing perfumes". It starts out as VERY strong rose. Not a "rose dusting powder" as per the description (I would love finding a rose powder this strong!), but a heavy rose perfume. I get the cold cream reference others have made. It's a lovely accord that peeks out when the initial rose settles. Drydown is powdery iris and yes, finally, a powdery rose. Delightful!

  5. I liked this when it arrived a month ago, but was disappointed it did not pack the punch the notes suggested. It has deepened since then, with the musk the main player and olibanum and patch supporting, oakmoss less apparent. It is a sophisticated, perfumey scent.

  6. I am jealous others are getting a lot of sage on this! The patchouli is very smooth, light, the blackcurrant and worn leather dominant. There is a suggestion of ambergris, but it is not strong on my skin. There morphs quite a bit and final dry down is that lovely powdery iris which lured me in the first place. Low throw, low longevity.

  7. This smells like delicious creamy chocolate. The "frostbitten" part of all the perfumes in this line have taken the original scent up a notch for me and Frostbitten Bliss particularly so. The frosty vanilla/white musky "snow" is beautiful and lasts long after the Bliss has faded.

  8. This is one of those very well blended perfumes (in HG form!) where it is not that easy to pick out individual notes. Overall, this is a smooth, deep, perfumey patchouli with the clove and amber supporting it. If you are buying it for the lilac, you might be disappointed, as the scent does not feature that note, but rather uses it for the overall presentation. It is beautiful!

ETA This is the third time I am wearing this and am puzzled. The first two times, I got a well blended perfumy patch supported by clove. Today it started with super strong blast of clove before setting. Yes, I always shake!

  9. YES! Rose geranium! I got a decant at the last minute on a whim. It is mostly a strong rose geranium on me, with tea rose peeking out. On dry dowm I get the beautiful, natural apple. Unexpectedly wonderful!

I am curious if the 2017 version is different than the previous one, as the rose geranium was less talked about in earlier reviews. Or perhaps it nicely aged in the lab.

  10. This is a beautiful lavender scent and I was surprised there was no vanilla listed in it. Might the white sandalwood gives it that vibe? Bergamot and pear not distinct. Love it enough for a bottle.

ETA Love it enough for a backup!

  11. Mega morpher, this one! It starts out almost almond-like on my skin and then the vetiver comes up with a wonderful growl to recede into gnarly patchouli with a bit of sweetness, to occasional waves of an almost tar type note. It is a strong, beautiful BPALesque perfume, not for the light hearted.

ETA I did not wait long enough for the complete cycle. This has turned into the frosty snow note with undertones of vetiver and patch. The Frostbittens are knocking it out of the park for me!
