    Frostbitten Malediction

Mega morpher, this one! It starts out almost almond-like on my skin and then the vetiver comes up with a wonderful growl to recede into gnarly patchouli with a bit of sweetness, to occasional waves of an almost tar type note. It is a strong, beautiful BPALesque perfume, not for the light hearted. ETA I did not wait long enough for the complete cycle. This has turned into the frosty snow note with undertones of vetiver and patch. The Frostbittens are knocking it out of the park for me!

    Frostbitten Blood Amber

In this Frostbitten, the Blood Amber seems to be the stronger player. It is a beautiful dance of dragon's blood and amber under a dusting of snow. It was extremely long lasting and strong on me and could be detected even after showering.

    Frozen Chypre Hair Gloss

YES!! This is indeed as Kscha and Zankoku have described in terms of it being a traditional chypre perfume from a bygone era (mine-HA!). The pine adds a cooling winter feel and the frank is very light. I love this!!!

    Blackcurrant Sufganiyot

This starts with a strong blast of sweet fruitiness and pretty much stays that way on my skin until it fades to light fruitiness a few hours later. I am getting more berry smell than currant, and not a natural berry. Cannot smell the dough or donut note.

    Frostbitten Dorian

Oh, this is just beautiful! Dorian soaked in white musk vanilla! Doesn't get better than this!
  6. [No additional description provided.] Oh, goodness, this is pretty! I am delighted because this really does smell like fresh pumpkin rind at first sniff (nothing like cooked pumpkin). There is something spicy here (but not pumpkin pie spice). The rose geranium is a pretty, almost floral note. I cannot pick up the pomegranate. This is an easy to wear scent, more earthy than foody.

I Foamed! I Raved! I Swore! Hair Gloss

I paced the floor to and fro with heavy strides, as if excited to fury by the observations of the men — but the noise steadily increased. Oh God! what could I do? I foamed — I raved — I swore! I swung the chair upon which I had been sitting, and grated it upon the boards, but the noise arose over all and continually increased. It grew louder — louder — louder! And still the men chatted pleasantly, and smiled. Was it possible they heard not? Black opium and screeching blood orange. Could not pass this up with those two notes! The opium is mellow (as opposed to how it comes on in my beloved Debauchery). Perhaps people were put off by the "screeching" blood orange, but no worries. In fact, the orange is the sweet star of the show. It does not have a lot of throw; however, I sprayed it in my braid last night and it was still very evident in the morning. I am happily huffing my hair now! The opium and orange play very well together.
  8. This is a beautiful concoction. The dead leaves accord is the main player in this to my nose. The other notes are very light, adding to the overall perfumey prettiness. If you were put off by the oude note, don't be, as it is barely there.

    Absinthe-Laced Candied Apple Hair Gloss

I was grabby hands on this because of the magic word "absinthe". However, it is a very light note in here, dominated by a very sweet apple. I am no getting caramel in this, but more a fruity sugar. Low throw, decent wear length.

    2004: Paper Phoenix

Interesting to read such varied reviews! This is by far my favorite of the four anniversaries I have tried. It starts out as pure Dorian, but a Dorian amped on vanilla. As it wears, the Dorian is still very much present, but with the vanilla taking more center stage. It does remind me very much of Antique Lace...but better because of the Dorian nuances. I get no sharp lemon, pink pepper or heavy lavender as others have mentioned. I may have to get another bottle.

    2008: Sugar Phoenix

Very pretty lavender and vanilla, with light whispers of grapefruit while wet. The grapefruit is a bit bitter. It did not last very long on me, fading into a light white musk in less than an hour.

    Jaawi

Sweet Indonesian patchouli, red benzoin, champaca attar, French lavender, coconut husk, bay leaf, tobacco absolute, lime, and honey. Suggest you take this to a quiet room, perhaps close the drapes, to give Jaali your undivided attention. He's a serious morpher, so you will miss things if you multi-task. Starts out refined, sweetish patchouli with bay and lavender. The lavender is quite strong when wet. As it dries, the champaca steps forward, but the lavender stays present. The tobacco is a background note, detectable and lovely, but not the star of the show. I haven't been able to pick out the lime or coconut husk. Final drydown is a lightly flowered patchoili, with an incensey vibe. This is a beautiful, sexy perfume. Low throw, medium longivity (more than 2 hrs).

    My Secret Deeds Hair Gloss

This is so beautiful! I took one wiff of my decant and ordered a bottle. I needed an incensey HG and the opoponox does the trick. It is rich and resinous. The carnation is very light, but adds a perfect bit of spice. It does have a bit of a "fizz" to it, as Lizzy mentioned. It is strong, long lasting and very unusual.

    Frostbitten Snake Oil

Oh, I love this! Snake OIl...but better!! On me, it starts all Snake Oil, but a rich vanilla note comes out on the dry-drown. Great combination! Long lasting.

Obedience to a Secret Impulse Hair Gloss

This is a stunning scent. I get more than a "sliver" of fir over a perfect patch chypre. The patch is not heavy, but more a backdrop for a foresty kiss. The name makes me smile, as it reflects my hair gloss obsession!

    Honey and Beeswax scents

Well, Lizzie, if it is an olive flower(=osmanthus) you are smelling, I can't think of anything more incredible than beeswax and osmanthus...mmmm!(Ah, my bottle of Themysciran Priness got lost in the post...I bought it specifically for that note.) More on beeswax...I just pulled Gambols of Ghosts and Wan White Humming Hive out from last year's Weenies. Good grief, they are beautiful! BPAL beeswax notes may get the prize for amazing aging!

    Honey and Beeswax scents

I am a beeswax freak. (I also have and love Flickering Lantern and Lights of Men's Lives, but still buy any other beeswax scent I can get my paws on). I blind-bottled HH and am really glad I did. The beeswax, on my skin, is dead even with this BEAUTIFUL olive note, that reads on me more like olive blossom than oil. It's quietly stunning. I am considering a back-up. Sorry...? OR you could pretend I never said that, and go with this instead - It's horrible, you don't want any. So is the olive note here is definitely different in the one in Chanukah, Lizzie (if you have both)? Also, did you all see reviews for Writing on the Slate? It looks pro ising for us beeswax addicts. I basically snatch up anything with that note as well. It is a note that ages well.
  18. Oh, goodness, waiting to hear conversation about this! Mini-Mag is a top beloved scent and since she was released in 2014 have not sniffed anything even closely related!

    Groan of Mortal Terror

A deep tobacco blend. It is very dark with the opopponax, with just a tad of sweetness from the amber. As a BPAL tobacco fan, I am in my glory!

Dark Chocolate, Black Tea, and Patchouli Hair Gloss

I grabbed a decant of this, because Dark Chocolate, Golden Amber, Sandalwood and Nutmeg is on my top favorite HG list. This starts with the same beautiful chocolate note and then the tea steps in. It is a classic bkack tea note. The patch is light. Another winning HG!

    Blueberry Pumpkin Muffins Hair Gloss

I went for this because of a recent swoon over the lab's beautiful blueberry note in Ella. Well, this is exactly as advertised- pumpkin blueberry muffin! Foodies will love this, but it was too cake-like for me, The amazing thing is several hours later when I went into my bathroom where I sprayed this on my hair, it smelled like a bakery!!! (I am going in the corner now and huff oude to neutralize myself. HA!)

    Black Pomegranate

Just what the label says- dark pomegranate. Sweet and fruity.

    Sugar Skull Hair Gloss

This is delightful! A brown sugar scent. I am straining to pick up the fruit, as to my nose it is all caramelized sugar. I like it so much, I am considering to buy the perfume! Good wear length.

Delightful Visitor Among the Haystacks Hair Gloss

I can smell all the notes on this, but most strongly, the incense. To me it is more a plum incense with floral grace notes, rather than a floral incense., It is beautiful and one of the longer lasting HGs I have.

    Disastrous Twilight

This is so beautiful. On my skin, it is a well blended oriental perfume. The only note which flirts charmingly out of the overall composition for me is the ylang ylang.
