When I first put this on, I didn't think of Alice at all but rather Marie Antoinette shouting, "Let them eat cake!" However, the cake goes away and I then get currents and vanilla, lovely, long lasting, close to the skin.

This is one of the most beautiful scents ever.On me it is beeswax with a hint of flowers and vanilla, neither too sweet or perfumey.

I love testing things before reading the notes. It was clearly vetvier at first sniff with "something" green. Then leather. I really like it! And had a good hoot to find the green note was zuchinni! A keeper!

This is so easy to wear, starting out with cedar and sage, as well as a light blend of fig and honey. The carnation came out after about 30 minutes. Six hours later, I am left with a soft, pleasant fig-scented honey. I am surprised the cedar took an exit, as I assumed it was a base note. So glad I have a bottle of this, as it is great scent to slather. Edit after 1+ month. This is more beautiful than before, the carnation being stronger. The fig note is perfect, much softer and less sweet than in Strangler Fig or the Grave Pig.

I try to test things before looking at the notes and at first in the imp sniff could not distinguish anything. On the skin it first smelled awful, like a wet nappy and then the lemon kicked it. Really kicked! I have learned to be patient with BPAL morph magic and sure enough, after 10 minutes, rose and apple, which settles finally into a long lasting soft rose with an apple scented veil. Lovely after a shocking beginning! Rose fans might enjoy this in hot weather.

This is a gorgeous holiday blend for me because of the pine which is fresh and bright. In the dry down, caught the juniper and finally the vanilla snuggles in with the rosewood, while the pine plays along. I don't think it is at all masculine, but rather a great scent for all. Delighted with this frimp! Thank you, Lab!

It's good to hear that in general, BPAL ages well, except perhaps for the gourmands and citrus. This is certainly something to consider in terms of buying scents and deciding if they need to be used up immediately in wild abandon or can have some cuddle time in the cupboard. Very pleased to hear many of you have some very long lived (and well loved) bottles. I guess Beth or Brian's answer of "one year" in the Frequently Asked Questions on the main site is a disclaimer to protect themselves from whingers.

This is a sweet, light and happy scent on me. I gifted it (reluctantly) to my husband for his birthday and it smells great on him; I don't find it a girly scent at all, as was mentioned above. I smell all of the listed notes and it settles to a light floral honey backed by a quiet amber. The coconut makes an exit quite quickly.

Green, light, yes, the dawn light indeed, sparkling through a prism, Liberamoris. This smells like finely blended perfume, with the notes in harmony. As I sniff over time, the rose comes delicately to the forefront without being overpowering. Not much throw, but I like having secrets. Note to self- Judging from the components, not sure this would age well. Slather.

This is such a stunning blend. It is long lasting (overnight), but sits very close to the skin. Agree it is perfect for meditation and, yes, perhaps even yoga class, Joyfulgirl, as it is so close to the skin. I do love rose, but have generally found it too powerful in the bpal oils (pretty, but powerful). In this blend it is a perfect whisper. (Although I see Annemathematics said it amped too much on her.) This reminds me of the very beautiful EnTendre by House of Matriarch, but at a fraction of the price and longer lasting. 10/10!!! ETA Several months later: This might be the most beautiful scent I have ever met. It has come into such lushness. The perfect incense, with just a hint of rose and sage. A stunner!

So aquatic over the top, male cologne, for me at first stiff on wet skin. Light hint of milk or maybe even coconut??? Lavender?? But I have learned to wait with Beth's brews for the magic of the morphing process. Yep, 20 minutes later, there it is- milk and sea! Beautiful! I think this will be a summer sleep oil.

So smooth! It starts out strong, but cozies quickly onto the skin, the sandal and leather balanced. It is close to my skin, seductive. I got no chemical or barn smell as others have mentioned.

This is a beautiful blend although it loses its strenth quite quickly after the initial dramatic entrance, considering the ingredients. This would be good for daytime wear if you like leather and tobacco, but don't want to overwhelm your colleagues. Actually, after an hour it needs reapplying and I usually get good mileage on the bpal beauties.

So pretty! Fruity withoutbeing too sweet. Delightful to wear.

At first wiff on skin, overpowering peachy sweetness. However, in 10 minutes, this all settles and I am veiled with a rich concoction and can smell each note listed. An hour later, I am left with the prettiest flower infused sandal.

Waited til New Years to try this out. Very, very lemony (I get the fruit, not lemon grass), but after 30 minutes that is backing down to a softer lemon and some herbal notes. Pleasant after 30 minutes and I am smiling to have a gift with good wishes from the Lab.

Yes, rose, and not a light or fresh cut one. Can barely pick out the spices. Pretty.

Wow! Cakes when wet, but then the incense takes over. However,a continued memory of that cake sweetness remains even over time. Sigh. Another one to love!

Smells unpleasant and strong on first application but then the lotus makes a brief appearance, a herald for the woody and musky dry down which is just lovely. Happy to have a bottle.

The osmanthus and coconut are the most obvious on my skin, with the resins playing background.Cannot pick out the honey. Pleasant to my nose.
-
One of the few BPALs that smells amazing on me from the very beginning. Could have sworn I smelled a touch of osmanthus in the early stages, but not listed in notes. Creamy, coconut perfection; not at all sun tan lotion. So glad I bought a bottle,as it does not have the staying power of other BPALs and it is definitely in the slather genre.

This was awful, chemical smell first 15 minutes, but turned to a quite pleasant spice pumpkin and finally after 30 minutes, I can also smell honeys and resins. Great!
-
Oh, goodness...enveloped in beeswax and vanilla, a bit of sandalwood. It is warm, a sensuous, bordering foodesque but not crossing the too-sweet line. Yes!
-
Wow, I love this, but it smells so different, yes a bit perfumery. Trying to pick out the listed notes, but not doing so well. There is definitely something green in here.It smells womanly, sensual...a woman in a Chanel suit walking down a Parisian street.

2014 version Wow! After drydown, can't take my nose away from my wrist. This is drinking spicy apple cider at a cabin in the woods.Stellar! Six hours later, still smelling amazing. I smell apples and honey but there is no honey listed. It is so beautiful!
