Now this is some good stuff. I get a heavy wine undertone that goes a little cherry, which I like. The florals don't go soapy, and the leather is delicious. Bottle worthy.

Nope, nope, this is straight up Play Doh. Nope, not for me.
-
It started out a lightly spiced rose, but then faded far too fast for more notes.
-
A light jasmine scent on a cloud of fluffy vanilla. Very nice, but I'll just stick with my imp for now.

Oh this did not work on my skin at all, I think ambrette seed is my death note to end all death notes. I smell like I got sick in front of a tree. I needed to scrub to get it off. Not for me, sorry!

This smells like pomegranates and...laundry detergent? Seriously, I get a laundry note from this. But I don't mind, not at all, it's oddly intriguing. Clean with a little juice stain. I like it a lot!

Sooooo sexy. Musky and hot, sweetened by the undercurrent of blackcurrant and vanilla. But also there's this...grassy? note, so it smells like rolling around in a meadow with a devilishly handsome scoundrel. Yummy.

Smells like biting into a juicy Golden Delicious apple. Love it!

I'm starting to discover that I really like fruity patchoulis. This was a frimp that had been in my list to try, and I finally got around to it. Beautifully rich and deep. Sexy. It's the scent equivalent to smoky-eye makeup and and smoking a cigarette on a holder. Classy and sassy.

This month’s Lunacy winner was TEATIME IN ROSWELL Atmosphere Spray! But because Teddy loves you, and because he knows you love hair gloss, the Goblins are offering that as well! Weather balloon? No. An alien autopsy, A cover story. In July of 1947, the US Air Force recovered the crash debris of multiple alien spacecrafts from a ranch close to Roswell, NM. Several aliens survived, but many perished. Both the living and the dead extraterrestrials were transported, in secret, to Hangar 18 at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, along with the flying saucer wreckage. The US government performed a quick, efficient cover-up: witnesses were silenced, and a press release was issued the next day claiming that the fallen craft was a weather balloon. Aliens at high tea: Earl Grey, biscuits, Battenberg cake, and strangely-glowing cucumber sandwiches. Honest to god, this is exactly an alien tea party in a squirt bottle. There's lovely cucumber sandwiches, some tasty little cakes, and a healthy shot of Earl Grey. But then there's this...aura... around it, I swear. Like something glowy. It's really interesting, and I'll definitely use it!

Ahhh, this is heavenly. Spicy cider with a sweet wine undertone, and a delicious splatter of maple syrup. This survived washing my dishes so you know how long it lasts. Even though it lasts, it's not too strong. I will need a bottle or two.

Clean and smooth. Exactly what comes to mind when I smell this. A musky vanilla, as advertised. It's perfect.

Interesting. I get notes of deep greenery, but this other note that I can only identify as...steamy. And it's also a little sweet, like there's a touch of green baby powder. Did you know baby powder is an aphrodisiac for women, and also for some men? I hear it's because it's a clean, nostalgic scent that puts people at ease. So honestly, you know Poison Ivy from Batman comics? This is her perfume: earthy, green, exotic, and very sultry. A+

*gasp* this is my beloved Smite All Thy Borders with Frogges! With a lovely tinge of Snake Oil underneath!

Looking for any Harry Potter scent recommendations
marilyn eyre replied to Trish's topic in Recommendations
I'm putting together gifts with a Harry Potter theme for some friends, and are there any scents that remind you of any of the Houses? Especially Slytherin and Hufflepuff. Thanks! -
This smells like church perfume to me. Easter Sunday, new purple dress, flowers everywhere kind of perfumed occasion. It's very pretty, but too churchy for everyday wear for me.
-
Perfect, pure rose. Velvety petals and all.

I almost didn't put a bottle of this in my cart because Hollywood Babylon is my strawberry scent. Good thing I have little self-control, because they are so different and so perfect. Because to me, Hollywood Babylon is like drinking a dry cocktail while being driven around on a hot night in LA. The Instructional Manual is drinking an all-natural strawberry smoothie in freshly washed clothes in a park with the cherry blossoms blooming in the middle of the day in Washington, DC. I'll need a backup of this.

What BPAL would this fictional character wear?
marilyn eyre replied to Flowermouth's topic in Recommendations
I LOVE Hannibal! I actually think Freddie would smell like War (Red ginger, black spices, patchouli, honeysuckle, and three blood-soaked red musks) and Frederick Chilton would smell like Foolish and Vacuous (A scent with no depth: a light, reedy, almost vapid take on a classic men’s fougere.) I think Alana would wear Veritas (The essence of honesty, integrity, and veracity: frankincense, white carnation, angelica, chamomile, and heliotrope.) -
If you're like me and you opened this and gagged on the putrid smell of concentrated cough syrup, let it age a few months. Because now, it;s a thick miix of tropical fruits with a touch of chili to round it out. Nice and rich.

Weirdly, I don't get a baked note at all. All I get is a thick, juicy, blueberry filling with a perfect topping of cream. Lovely and subtle enough to wear for practically every occasion.

Was gifted a squirt of this in my Trading Post order, and I'm so glad because I would never have tried it otherwise. Weirdly for me, i's the vanilla note from Dorian with a generous dose of lavender. I can pick out some violet, but I can't smell any of the other notes. But it's fabulous. I'm spraying it over all of my blankets so they're all snuggly.

Really gross when I first got it six months ago, smelled like old grape-flavored sour candy. But after I aged it, now it turns into this beautiful honeyed wine. A keeper.

Smite All Thy Borders with Frogges

Smells like a very green men's cologne. My nose can't identify any specific notes, but I love it anyway! -
Roses drenched in a buttery, fruity syrup. It sounds like it might clash horribly, but on my skin it gives me a mental picture of velvet, for some reason. Makes me picture a queen lounging on fancy throw pillows and eating delicious pastries all day. I love it, but it's a very heavy scent for special occasions.
