    Staged Moon Landing

Starts out sparkling and fresh. It reads kind of minty to me, with some florals in the background. Sadly it turns into weird fake vanilla scented play doh after a bit. Probably what fake moon rocks would smell like, but not what I want to smell like!

    Shoggoth

Wet, it's just LEMONGRASS. A few minutes later, the lemongrass has calmed down and light florals come out with a touch of coconut sweetness. I also start to detect some lime lingering in the background. It seems to smell slightly different with each nose-tickling sniff, with different notes standing out. It feels very effervescent.

    Arkham

I got this in my very first BPAL order last November and immediately hated it. It was way too bitter and harsh, with kind of a soapy, dryer sheet vibe. I tried it a few more times with similar results so it’s sat in limbo since. Today I wanted something that reminds me of New England woods so I decided to give it another shot. It seems to have gotten a little sweeter and softer. I realized that the violet may have been an issue before - other violet blends have a really harsh edge on me - so perhaps that note calmed down with age. It still seems very 2 dimensional - lots of floral and green notes with not much to back it up. I don’t really get much in the way of woods until hours later and it's really faint. I’d love a Halloween or Yule take on Arkham with something rich and dark to play contrast.

    Phaon Crescent

Juicy, complex citrus when wet. Jasmine leads on the dry down, but well supported by bitter citrus and a little woodiness. I debated adding this to my Meta order but I'm glad I did. I'm discovering how much I love jasmine. Here it plays lead but with a stunning supporting cast that brings out the best in the jasmine while packing plenty of their own punch.

    Womb Furie

Womb Furie 2014 was my first unsniffed bottle purchase and has not disappointed. It reminds me of a little import shop in Provincetown, MA, a space that holds the memory of years and years of incense stocks. It's not the smell of the incense directly, but the memory held in walls and cloth, combined with rich, sweet honey. It's sexy and evocative, while also being comforting and warm. It's a pretty consistent scent for me, smelling pretty similar in the bottle, wet, and dry and lasts quite a long time. It maybe gets a little smokey at the very end, but I only really get that with my nose right against my skin. Superb!

    Sinus Iridum

I love Sinus Iridum! It was the first Lunacy I bought and did not disappoint. Wet, I get a very earthy/mossy note. Dry, it's succulent and bright with red currant and orange blossom being the most predominant notes. Unf. The tiniest issue for me is it doesn't seem to last all that long, but that just means i get to reapply!

    Harvest Moon 2010

Smells lovely and green in the bottle, but on it quickly turns into burning leaves and not in a good way. Up close, there's some nicer fruit notes, but the throw is all strong, harsh smoke. So sad! I may try this in a locket to see if the smoke doesn't take over, but it's likely headed for swap/sale.
