  1. At first this smells just like the cherry cough drops we get at the health food store.

After it begins drying...I have no idea. This is just so odd. I really have no idea what it smells like, but it reminds me of this strange lip gloss I had as a kid that came in these pieces of fake jewelry. hmm.

After a while it becomes a bit smokier and now smells like cherry (where am I getting cherry???) incense or cherry pipe tobacco. Maybe with a shot of whiskey on the side. This is starting to remind me a little of Hearth '04 (?). On me it seems to be in the same family.

I am so glad I'm not getting the peanuts. I am getting something just a touch spicy. WTH is going on here?

I am very...confused by this scent. I didn't like it at first, but it started growing on me once the smokiness came out. It's not at all what I expected but I'm strangely drawn to it.

  2. This smell like the creamy strawberry candy scent they use to scent dolls. Not the plastic dolls themselves, but the scent on them, kwim?

I kinda like this and will wear it for the novelty, but can't see needing a whole bottle.

But I love the artwork! :)

  3. This is almost straight grapefruit (yuzu?) with a hint of florals. Very pretty, but not something I

can see wearing often. It is very uplifting though. I'm really tempted to keep my imp just to sniff when I need a pick me up.

  4. Cinnamon incense burning somewhere......

You hear the thrums of soft melodic music with the constant beat of it in your veins.......

You're behind the curtain in a head-shop engrossed in contortionist sex. :thud:

    That's SIN, plain and simple.

I should have reviewed this one ages ago. I *love* it!

    YES! This this exactly!

I looove this. It's sweet, spicy, incense burning in room where some hot marathon sex just took place.

  5. At first this is very green with the barest hint of florals. As it dries dries down the tomato leaf comes out and it really does smell just like a vegetable garden. :) As it dries even further I can detect the wildflowers a bit more and the vegetation calms down. This is when it starts to cling a bit closer to the skin.

This smells so lifelike! Even dh was surprised. The only thing was that I got virtually no dirt or soil, so I just layered some Graveyard Dirt with it. Wow!

  6. CCCXVIII

If I could create my own snake oil blend, I could not have picked a more perfect one.

It starts out a bit of SO with coconut (more black, less foody) with a hint of smoke. As it dries down, the smoke comes out more and reminds me a bit of the smoke note in Moai, but not quite so acrid. Drying down more the smoke fades and the most gorgeous coconut comes out again, balanced with the faint snake oil base.

This makes me think of dancing close on the patio of an outdoor bar on a summer night, with the lingering smell of an earlier beach bonfire mingling with the coconut oil left on warm skin. It's such a beautiful and sexy scent.

I love it. :wub2: I just wish I could buy it by the gallon. This is my holy grail scent.

  7. At first this smells like banana runts (which to me is a good thing, I love that smell :) ), but almost immediently it begins to morph into a beautiful tropical floral scent. This smells like a island paradise. It is just gorgeous and such a happy scent. Makes me want to go on a vacation (we need a hula girl smilie). Since I can't though, I will enjoy wearing this. Now if only I was thin enough for a bikini and sarong....

  8. I'm kicking myself now for turning down a previous opportunity to get this. Thjis was my reasoning:

    pomegranate= iffy

    gardenia=soap

plum= either craft store or Yankee candle

black pepper= OMG, no! ew ew ew ew

    blood accord= iffy

So, it shouldn't work, right? How wrong I was. This starts off very juicy and youthful, but as it dries it becomes darker and richer, while still maintaining the sweet and tart fruitiness. I can catch the barest hint of florals at times, but no trace of soap or old lady. The black pepper seems to be just about non-existant, though there is a spicy undercurrent. This is a darkly alluring and somehow playful and lively.

The throw is better than I expected, though not overwhelming.

I really really love this and I am so happy I was able to find some (and with her crypt!).

  9. Starts off nice, all sugared flowers. But after a few minutes a strange green note comes out. Ok. And this is when it starts to go bad on me. Now it smells like a vegetable drawer. WTH???

And it dries down to....vegetables and a perfume counter. Safe to say, not for me. :(

  10. I am not a floral person, so I was hesitant to try this. Surprisingly, it's very pretty. :)

At first it's mostly sweet flowers with a bit of green grass. As it dries down something darker comes out to balance the sweetness of the flowers. It almost has a slightly musky or perhaps smokey feel to it.

I like this a lot more than I expected to so I'll be keeping my imps.

    I'm glad I gave it a chance. :)

  11. At first this smells like a good coffee shop with the coffee, woods, etc. Very yummy!

As it dries though it smoothes out and becomes a bit from the tonka.

This is even better than I expected! I loooove it. I recently got a sniffie of Bah! And as far as coffee scents go, I actually prefer Dogs. I will be needing a back up bottle. :wub2:

ETA: So a couple hours later I'm walking around wondering where the delicious smell is coming from from and then I realize....it's me! The pipe tobacco came out more, though it's not a heavy smoke scent. More like the lingering smell of pipe smoke on a sweater. That mingling with the creamy sweetness from the tonka and the subtle coffe scent is just heavenly.

This doesn't smell like Misk. U to me. That can be too sweet at times, where this has just the right amount of sweetness to balance the coffee and pipe tobacco. :)

  12. Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy; he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now?

Grave dirt, bone, decay, angel's trumpet, and moldering scraps of shroud: the essence of finality.

Hmmmm.....this is nice. I definitely get the grave dirt (more like soil) with a somewhat sweet tropical flower scent. There also seems to be a very light spice, but I have no idea where that's coming from. I'll have to try it again to see if I'm crazy or not.
I was expecting something much darker smelling, but I love this just the way it is. It really is beautiful and very wearable. I can see this being in heavy rotation this spring & summer. I am so happy I sprung for the bottle!

    :wub2:

  13. This is summer in a bottle. It is absolutely GORGEOUS. I can smell the fruits and flowers (which don't go soapy...yay!) and a hint of coconut and vanilla adding just a touch of sweetness. It's exotic and sexy in a fun, flirty sort of way.

This is perfect. It would make an equally great daytime or nightime scent.

    I love it. :wub2:

*And for those of you who are afraid of smelling like a frozen drink, have no fear, this is the island you vacation on where you would order said yummy beverages.

ETA: I think the orchids might be going odd on me. I'm getting a dusty note. hmmm....will try again.

  14. Very interesting. It's a dark, earthy, evil...licorice. LOL. Surprisingly, I really like this but I think I would *love* it on dh. :)

ETA: Ok, I *really* like this, even though I usually hate civet and only occasionally like anise. There is something about this, I just can't stop sniffing myself. I feel very strong and mysterious. DH will have to get his own.

  15. In the imp, this was clove, patchouli, cinnamon and orange. It reminds me of one of those orange-clove pomander things. Thus... this smells like Christmas!

Wet, similar, although it sweetens and the yummy incense speaks up.

Dry: Wow. Warm, sexy, spicy incense with hints of sweet peach and spice. The patchouli is there, too, lovely and gentle on me (sometimes it can be very medicinal smelling with my skin). Very sensual and warm and... still kind of Christmasy. I think I'll wear this quite often in December. :) Good throw, too.

This exactly, except for the peach, which I'm not getting much of. It's mostly just adding a slight sweetness to the blend.

I really like this and will be holding onto it for fall/winter. :)

  16. mmm....this isn't nearly as "dirty" as I expected. It's not so much fresh turned, digging in soil as it is walking past a garden where the soil, flowers, and greenery all blend together. It's very pretty and a great spring scent, it just fades very quickly (which is fine for me today since I seem to have perfume ADD), but luckily doesn't go soapy like almost all white floral blends.

  17. This is an interesting one and I'm so happy I was frimped it. :)

It starts off almost completely myrrh, but as it dries it sweetens a bit and I can catch a hint of the black currant and something else I can't quite put my finger on.

This is beautiful. It's richly resinous, slightly spicy, slightly sweet, and darkly exotic. :wub2:

Though it might not get a lot of use right now since the weather is warming up, I can see using it a lot this fall/winter.

  18. Florentine iris, red musk, mimosa, magnolia, Damascus rose, clove, and vanilla bean.

This is very pretty and so well blended that I have a hard time picking out all the individual notes. As it dries though I can definitely pick up the vanilla and musk with hint of florals (iris, rose and what I think might be the magnolia). There is a touch of spice, but very very faint. So faint I wouldn't even have guessed clove.

I really like this, though it's not as unique as I usually prefer. Also, it seems to be a sister or cousin of Red Rose (though it might just be what my skin amps).

  19. So this should have been a major fail for me. White flowers=soap and aquatics usually=bathroom air freshener or men's cologne.

This though doesn't do either. It's actually very pretty. It's not a straight up aquatic and the ginger helps to keep the florals in check. I like this far more than I expected to and I will definitely keep the imp. I think this will make a wonderful spring/summer scent. :)

  20. I was really hoping this one would work, since I love leather, but it starts off smelling like bathroom hand soap. :(

After a little while though I think the black amber is struggling to come out and it becomes a bit less soapy. It's rather pretty now, but since I'm trying to only keep what I love, it's off to swaps.

  21. I've been very interested in this one for a while and decided to finally try it tonight.

It started off promising, and actually not as masculine as I expected, but dried down to just violets. I'm not a big fan of violet and was hoping that would be the one scent that wouldn't really come out. Oh well.

So I had dh try it and it turned soapy on him. sigh

    Off to swaps, sadly.

  22. CCCXXVIII:

Surprisingly, very little snake oil. But what I do have is beautiful. I am not a floral person, so I'm having a hard time picking out the flower in this, but it is gorgeous. This is the scent of the south on lazy evening when it's hot and humid, minus the dirt. And it doesn't go soapy on me (so it's not a white flower)! :joy: It's lazy definitely sexy, in that hot and sweaty, let's do it outside kind of way.

Whatever it is, I love it. It's just perfect for spring and summer and I will NOT be letting this one go. :wub2:

ETA: I'm pretty sure one of the notes in this is chrysanthemum. :) And once it's dried down I do get brief hints of the SO. I think this will age extremely well.
