  1. In the imp it smells somewhat unisex so both hubby and I tried it.

On us both it briefly starts the same but morphs differently.

On hubby it's mostly musk, leather, with a bit of cedar and very lightly herbal? Sage or lavender??

On me it's leather, vanilla, with a bit of musk and the very *barest* hint of lavender (I think).

This is a beautiful scent and I love how we can both wear it while still being unique on each of us.

  2. This goes from a licorice to woodsy almond to a soapy incense very quickly on me. It ends up very strange smelling on me.

Normally I would try it on a locket, but I don't think I would like it much better

Ok, after a few minutes it smells like public bathroom soap mixed with licorice jelly beans. :P

As it dried further down my skin really started amping the star anise and sandalwood. It's still very strange, but I might end up keeping to use in a scrub or oil burner.

  3. When I first put it on it was a rather foody coconut. Uh oh. Then slightly burnt. Crap.

Luckily that all happened in the first 60 seconds. Then it became the sexiest suntan oil I've ever smelled. Not foody, not generic, just sexy and flirty and fun.

I am definitely getting bottles of this! I've been searching for a scent like this and I'm so happy to have found it. :P

  4. In the bottle:

Super yummy rich mint ice cream. Not so much the green choc. chip kind, but the rich white choc. chip mint flavor.

Or like others said, thin mint cookies. Soooo yummy.

    On my skin:

Vanilla, mint, and.....celery? WTH? Luckily that doesn't last too long. Unfortunately, my skin ate the littleamount I put on, so I think I just need to add a bit more next time. Once it dries down it's mostly vanilla with a hint of mint. Very nice. :D

I also tried it in my locket and it just stays a super wonderful minty vanilla. Not too sweet and just foody enough. This would be perfect all year round. :P

I wouldn't mind picking up an extra bottle.

  5. First impression:

Yum! Very fruity and tart. I think I am going to love this. :D

    First on:

"Peppery citrus" is right. hmmm.....this might be bad

    Dry:

PEPPER! Omg, it's sickening pepper. This smells so bad, I can't tell you. It's actually making me ill.

I had to go scrub this off. I couldn't even keep this in my locket because I kept catching whiffs of the pepper and it made me sick. I had my daughter take the little piece of cottonball out to the trash OUTSIDE. I had to wipe my locket down & wash it. I kept sniffing coffee hoping to get the lingering smell out of my nose.

I can safely say anything with pepper in it is a no-no for me. :P

  6. oh no :P can you email the lab and see what happened? :D

I just emailed. I had emailed them before about whether or not I could add a couple things on and they told me I would have to go in and cancel and resubmit the order. I decided not to do that because I didn't want to run into the issue of having funds held and having my order bumped down. :D

ETA: I think I may have figured out what happened. Oh well, I was able to get some pp together and replace the order. If I have to wait a bit longer....well, it will just add to the excitement, right? LOL

  7. In the bottle: Wow, this is masculine. It seems like a more complex Jolly Roger. I'm not sure I'll be able to pull this off.

Wet: This sweetens out a lot. It's salt air, a little wood, and something that reminds me of a note in Thalassa. I have no idea what my skin is doing, but I like it. :P

As it dries I don't seem to be getting much of the lime or gunpowder, which I'm fine with. This is just a beautiful scent and I'm going to have to track down another bottle or 2!

I'm also going to have hubby try it because I'm very curious as to how it turns out on him.

  8. In the imp and on my fingers it's a very pretty, musky vanilla.

Wet on my wrists: Holy cow, LILAC! Wow, where did my wonderful vanilla and musk go? Where's my COCONUT???

Drying: Ah, thank you lilac for quieting down. You know, you really don't have to scream to be heard. And there is my coconut barely whispering to me and my vanilla and musk are coming out of hiding.

Dry: It's beautiful. Really. Everything has blended nicely and keeps slightly shifting. Very sexy and feminine, without being girly, trashy, or too sophisticated. I'm getting a bottle. :P

  9. I really didn't mean to try this, but since I spilled a little on myself....

Wow. This reminds me of this shop in Williamsburg during christmas time. It smells of spicy and musky fir with a touch of the sweetness from the orange blossom and the barest hint of mint. It is gorgeous and I can't wait to have hubby try it, though surprisingly it's something I would also wear, though not daily.

  10. This started off very pretty, though rather perfumey on my skin. Then my skin started amping the amber and something else not too pleasant.

As it dries, the sandalwood and myrrh slightly come out with a hint of vanilla.

At first I thought "It's very pretty, though a bit perfumey and sophisticated for my taste." but as it's drying down even more, it's actually very nice. The vanilla has amped more, but not too much. I really think hubby will like this one as he loves vanilla. Can't wait for him to get home and sniff me. :D

hmmmm.....will have to try a couple more ties before deciding on a bottle. I'm so glad I was gifted a decant though. :D

ETA: mmmmmm.....it's mostly vanilla, myrrh, sandalwood, with a bit of amber and just a hint of carnation and at moments, cedar. It's very nice, but I think a decant will be enough for now. I could see it being a "dress perfume", which I don't need all that often. :P

  11. Wet, it's a very hot, humid, tropical floral scent with something very earthy mixed in. As it dries down, my skin really begins to amp the amber. It becomes less tropical and takes on a more perfumey scent and ah yes, there is the powder making an appearance. My wonkychemistry strikes again.

I think this would be lovely in my locket, so I'll try that before deciding whether or not I need a bottle. It's doubtful because I can really see reaching for my Caliban or Manila before this when I need something hot and summery, but we'll see. :P

  12. I've had this for a long time now. (I believe I got it when it was first released) I never really tried it (I don't think) because not long after I got it I got pregnant and omg, the morning sickness kicked in.

So I kept going back recently, sniffing the bottle and thinking, ewww...this is going to be way too sweet, why did I keep it?

I am so glad I did!

Wet: A fizzy, sweet lime drink. Oh wow, this is yummy though I'm not sure I want to smell like this for long.

Drying down: mmmm.....it calms down. The lime goes into the background and out comes this sweet spicy slightly boozey cookie scent. I'm not a foodie person but this smells awesome.

Dried: It's a spiced sugar/vanilla with just the barest hint of tobacco.

I love this and I'm sooooo happy I never got rid of the bottle. I have a feeling this will get worn a lot once the cooler weather rolls in. :P

ETA: As it dries down further a bit more of the tobacco comes out, but in a good way. It really balances out the sugar to keep it from becoming to sweet.

  13. At first this is a very sweet, soft apple. As it dries, something slightly spicy and creamy (dragons blood?) and just a teeny bit sharp comes out. As it dries further it is very pretty, though a bit too close to a hair product I used to use (that smelled wonderful btw), then my skin just eats it up. :P

Very pleasant, if not really me.

  14. OMG, I have no words. This is the perfect spicy blend for me. I have always looooved clove and cinnamon. On me this has an almost clove cig. scent, but without so much of the tobacco. It has a touch of sweetness w/out being foody. I am absolutely in love! :P

It does tend to stay fairly close to skin, so I think I'll wear it on my skin and in my locket. It's also great to layer with when you have a scent that needs some extra spice.

I have a feeling this will be my regular autumn scent.

  15. Oh wow. wow wow wow wow wow wow wow

I doubt I would've tried this, but luckily I got a frimp from a super sweet someone. At first it is warm with a light insense feel to it, but then it starts to sweeten and the spice comes up. It's smokey and spicy and sweet and sexy all in one. I love that it has a touch of sweetness without being foody. And thankfully, my wonky skin chemstry keeps this beautiful and it doesn't go all wrong on me. I can't wait to try it in my locket and I will most defnitely be getting multiple bottles of this one!

  16. Ok, so I knew this wouldn't be for me so I had hubby try it.

It smells like leather, cinnamon, clove. rotted hay, and butt. Seriously. It smells like someone is tryint to cover up a funk with something really nice. Hubby said it reminds him of the horses at Busch Gardens.

    It was almost good.

  17. Wet:This is a very complex, busy scent. Wow. It's a very crisp, somewhat fizzy citrus with just a hint of the chocolate. Now, that sounds like it shouldn't work but it somehow does. I can't stop sniffing myself. :P After a few minutes something bizarre and slightly sharp comes out. I'm not sure if I like it.

Ok, now I know I don'tlike it. Dh says it smell like Off bug spray and I think it smells like an auto parts store. Yuck. My funky skin chemistry strike again.

I think I'll have to try it in my locket for the yummy wet stage. I'm glad I kept the one imp and sent the other to it's new home.

  18. CT: DCCCXLIV

Oooooh, I got my last (for now) bottle of CT. It is soooo yummy! In my locket it smells like sugared vanilla (almost like snickerdoodles) with a hint of creamy spice. Something in the background I can't quite pick up. Sniffing more, I think it's buttered rum.

On my wrist it's less sugary and more vanilla & spice w/something slightly floral. Hubby thinks it's hibiscus? I also think I pick up the barest hint of ozone, hubby thinks I'm crazy. LOL

Whatever it is, it is gorgeous! It's not overly sweet, just warm and yummy. I'm still deciding if it's me, but I'll keep it for now because hubby likes it and it will probably be great once the weather cools down.

ETA: Sadly, I just don't think I'm a foody person. It's given me a slight headache, which seems to happen with most foody scents. Maybe if I layer it w/Plunder the spice would help?

    EDITED AGAIN:

Wow. Ok, yep, that was the trick. Plunder added the perfect spice to it. It is now absolutely perfectly yummy.
