  1. When I first got it I tried it in my locket. I remember liking it, but not much more. So today I thought I would try it out on my skin. Well, I didn't have as much luck. It smelled of snake oil with a hint of....poo. I have no idea what's doing it, but it is not pleasant. And the fact that is was a rather dark brown on my skin didn't help. I don't want to smell like sweet poo and also look like it's been smeared on my arm.

Safe to say, this will be a locket scent.

  2. At first this is very botter coffee & cocoa, but as it dries is smoothes out quite a bit and takes on a somewhat sweet spicy scent. The coffee mostly disappears and it's just spicy warm brown suger with just a hint of cocoa. This is one I actually like a lot better on my skin than in my locket (which is rare).

I am so happy I was able to track some of ths down. :P

  3. Wet: Violet with mint and eucalyptus.

Drying: The violet calms a bit and now it almost smells like a mint tea with a hint of the violets and I think neroli? It is a bit medicinal smelling, but I like that.

Dried down: Doesn't change all that much. I'm not usually a fan of violet scents, but I really like this. The violet and the mints really balance each other well. It's both comforting and a bit invigorating. I am feeling a little under the weather today and this was the perfect scent to try. I also think that it will get a lot of use this summer, so I might have to get a bottle. :P

  4. Wet: JASMINE! Holy cow.

Drying: Jasmine and a bit of ylang ylang (which is a note I'm not crazy about). The frankincense is coming out a bit and giving this a slightly incensey feel.

    Dry: Really didn't change much.

I think this would be a nice hair scent, but it's a bit much on my skin. It'll have to think about whether or not I'll keep the imp.

  5. I had hubby try this today, hoping it would help with them putting a rush on his mileage check. :P

At first I wasn't crazy about the scent. It was rather sharp and harsh smelling, with something sweet at the end. Once it dried though it smells very nice. For some reason on him it smells like black coconut, a bit of almond, tobacco, and High John root.

I'm going to have to try it myself, because if it smells that good on me, I'll have to get a bottle just to wear. :D

  6. Ooooh, this is pretty! At first it's mostly orchid, but as it begins to dry a lush greenery comes out, along with some other tropical blossoms. I really can't pick out the individual notes, but this is absolutely beautiful. I think I like this even more than Tiki Queen (this is more exotic smelling). There is something in this that takes it beyond just being a tropical scent.

I love this and will need a bottle of it for the summer!

  7. At first it's very BERRY. Then as it dries it starts to smell like pop-rocks, then like a berry lip gloss I used to have as a kid.

It's actually very yummy smelling, but not really something I want to smell like. I think I'll let my daughters wear this. :P

  8. I had dh try this since in the imp it does smell more masculine.

Oh wow, this smells wonderful! On him it's a blend of spicy amber and mosses, with just a hint of lavender. It's a unisex blend, though it smells so good on him (and amber tends to go powdery on me), that the imp is going in his stash. :P

  9. hmmm....I'm surprised at how sharp this is at first. Actually, I shouldn't be since my skin seems to turn leather (or at least a certain type) very sharp smelling. I pick up the smooth, rich Snake Oil in the background trying to offest the sharpness, along with just a hint of sage. Not much tonka or sandalwood. As it dries more the leather calms a bit and it's a bit more balanced.

I do think I like this and I will probably get a bottle, though just one should be good. :P

  10. I don't know why I got this one. It has 3 notes I don't like: wine, blood, and pomgranate and 1 that I do but doesnt usually work for me: leather. So 4 out seven should be scent of doom.

Somehow though, it isn't. I get more grape, than wine, the leather is there just enough to keep everything from being too sweet, the pomegrante is almost unrecognizable but just lends a slight different fruity feel, and I think the blood is what's giving this a faint spice.

As it dries further it takes on a more sophisticated feel, perhaps just a bit powdery. I would love too see a bit more tonka and I wish it was stronger, but surprisingly, I really like this. I'll try my decant a couple more times before deciding on a bottle, but it's taught me that maybe I shouldn't completely rule out these notes. :P

  11. Warm earth, deep-reaching roots, dark myrrh, galangal, and Atlas cedar.

*I am sniffing this on dh's wrist*

This is the first scent that I've smelled and said "roots!". LOL. It does bring to mind thick roots buried in the earth.

This is a very interesting blend. It's spicy and very earthy with a bit of woods from the cedar. I really like this one and find it very sexy on dh. Must get a bottle. :P
  12. Mole

Antiqued sandalwood, patchouli, and soft mosses.

I had dh try this since it seemed like something he would like. Wow. This smells sooooo good. It's so well blended. Sweet and earthy with a bit of spice.
I think I'll have to try this one myself! :P
If it smells this good on me, we'll probably get a bottle, otherwise the decant will be enough (so he says LOL).

  13. Wow. This is *beautiful*. I got a decant of this, expecting to not like it anywhere near as much as my Peacock Queen. I was wrong. I love it just as much, but for different reasons.

Peacock Queen is more of the full, lush bloom itself with no hint of stem. This on the other hand is a freshly cut rose stem. This smells so realistic and fresh smelling. I will be getting a bottle. :P

  14. At first this is a slightly soapy smelling rose scent with a bit of...some other floral I can't identify. As it dries all that is still there, but the aspen leaves come out a bit more. It's not a complex scent (which I like) but a bit perfumey (which I'm not crazy about).

Yet, I actually think I like it a bit, though not enough for a whole bottle. I'll keep my decant and will probably wear it more during the spring. :P

  15. Rat

I'm sniffing this off of dh since I knew right away it would be more his scent. I was right. This smells *wonderful* on him.

It's a sharp pine mixed with the smooth orangewood and a soft earthiness from the mosses. I'm also picking up a bit of smoke which I'm assuming is the vetiver coming out. It's a very strong (not in throw, but in feeling) yet calming scent. Definitely keeping the decant for dh, but we'll see about a bottle.

  16. I was so excited to try this because I *love* mint. At first it is a wonderful sweet mint with a bit of ozone, but then the mint unfortunately calms a bit and out comes the dreaded xmas tree. If I could just have the sweet mint, even with the ozone, I would be thrilled. Oh well. I'll probably keep the decant (dh seems to like it on me) but I doubt I will be getting a bottle.

  17. At first this is all ozone and grass. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

As it dries, it softens and takes on the dreaded soap note I was so afraid of. :P Where are my apples? Where is my dust?

A bit further and I can feel the apples struggling to come out, but they can't quite break free. The soap is just too strong for them. Poor apples, they never stood a chance. (cue funeral march)

    sigh

  18. This smells like a handful of spices thrown on top of a bonfire. A bit too smokey for me, but smells awesome on dh! :D

    ETA:

So for some reason I had the urge to try this today. Wow! It has aged beautifully! It still smells like a rich bonfire at first, but after it's had a little time to dry, the tonka really comes out. Now it smells like tonka and vetiver and I love it! It's definitely more wearable for me after it aged a bit.

I think I might have to steal dh's bottle and get him another. :P

  19. mmmm.....cakes (and it does smell like there are 2 different cakes) with strawberry and a hint of spice (maybe the carnation)? Not much of the grapefruit that I can tell, though that could be what's in the background keeping this from going sickly sweet. It reminds me of something from when I was a kid, maybe a doll I use to have (without the plastic smell). I can't stop sniffing myself. LOL

It doesn't seem to morph that much and I'm still not getting much of the grapefruit, which is really fine with me. It's yummy the way it is. For some reason it reminds me of Huesos on crack or a much much better version of Sticky Pillowcase (which I didn't really like). Or maybe if the 2 mated, this would be their spawn. Like when 2 ugly people create the most beautiful baby.

I normally prefer my foodie scents super spicy, but I love this one. I don't think I need a back up bottle, but I am definitely keeping the one I have. :P

  20. I'm not sure if this is the right place for it, but since it's label related....

Is anyone else's Invasion of the Flesh Eating Reindeer really dark? I mean, so dark I can hardly see the reindeer and much of the writing. And it looks like something might be written in white on the left of the reindeer, but I can't tell.

  21. mmmm....what a perfect holiday scent. On me it's wonderfully sweet and spicy, though not nec. a cookie scent. Luckily, it's not very rummy on me, nor am I getting any almond from this. I really thought Sugar Cookie would be my favorite between the 2, but I actually think I like this one better. I love the spice in this one more. :P

ETA: Once it's fully dried down a delicious smokiness comes out. It's not a burnt smell, just smokey. I definitely need at least 1 bottle of this!

  22. Wet, in the bottle, it smells like an interesting gingery musk blend, slightly sharp and a little on the dark side. On me, it turns into a beautifully grownup *true* soft gingerbread, with a nibble of fruitcake and hints of rum and musk. The last two notes are what make this so wearable as a scent for me, instead of just smelling like food. Truly gorgeous. :P

I couldn't say it better. This is the scent for people who normally can't do foody, spicy scents or who don't want to smell like straight up gingerbread.

I never knew a flesh eating reindeer from uranus could smell so sexy! :D

  23. Gelt

Dark, slightly bitter cocoa. As it dries the amber very very lightly comes out and becomes just a bit powdery and helps to soften the cocoa a little.

It's very yummy, though very light on me. I think it will be worth slathering and might have to add it to my bottle list. I'll try it a couple more times first just to be sure. :P
