    Snake Oil

I received this today, so this is my review of a fresh bottle. I've been basically huffing my wrist for the past two hours. Okay, here goes: In bottle: Very dark and smokey, but there's a sweetness to it. Smells like if I bottled the scent of my local head shop (a cloud of incense smoke and the curiously ever-present sugar cookies available for paying customers) Fresh on skin: Spicy, but in the way incense smoke bites your nose when you smell it directly. No vanilla just yet. Dry on skin: Mmm, smoked vanilla with a twinge of spice. Smells like the vanilla scent of old book pages. Imagery: Someone reading a very old book near a stick of lit incense, while eating ginger snaps and sipping masala chai. Spicy. Smokey. Mysterious. Lightly sweet. Verdict: I work at a public library and let me tell you...if you're looking to be the "sexy librarian" trope, this perfume is for you. In my 6 years of librarianship, I have not gotten hit on so much! Guys, gals and nonbinary pals alike will be allured by this seductive smokey/spicy vanilla scent. I received my bottle today and have just purchased another bottle for aging purposes. I'll continue to wear this fresh bottle, and once it is spent, I will have an aged bottle ready to review!

    Alice

"Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot." I was a little wary, as floral scents have the tendency to turn into lavatory air-freshener on me. In the bottle: Very spicy and floral, like stuffing fresh flower petals up your nose. Something soft and sweet lingers behind, though; perhaps that's the honey. Wet: Still very spicy, to the point of making my nose burn slightly. There is a very faint Earl Grey scent to it, liike flowers anointed with bergamot oil. Dry: Delightful! It settled down into a muddled bouquet of carnations and roses, faintly sweetened by the honey and spiked with the citrus-y scent of the bergamot. Overall, I could definitely see this being a young Victorian maiden's perfume. It has enough throw to it for passersby to comment on it, and is subtle enough not to irritate others. One of my new favourites.

    White Rabbit

As an Alice in Wonderland fan, I've been wanting this scent for the longest time!I HAD to order a full bottle. In the bottle: Something clean but dark, with a bite of spicy earthiness to it. Perhaps that's the ginger and white pepper lingering behind linen and tea. Wet on skin: I'm getting freshly ground ginger, mixed in a cooling cup of earl grey tea. The linen scent seems to be fighting to come through. Dry on skin: Powdered laundry detergent with a faint bite...perhaps that's the white pepper? Overall, this scent isn't very heavy on my skin. It dries down to something not quite soapy, but clean nonetheless. The ginger and linen are pretty strong in this scent.
