    Bloodlust

Wet: Patchouli-laced musk. Aggressive. First on: My skin amps dragon's blood, so that comes to the fore; it's mostly musky dragon's blood. A hint of cinnamon wafts in and out. Dry: Cinnamon decides to take the lead. Dry, it's a spicy dragon's blood with some musk underneath. I love it.

    Shanghai

Wet: Crisp lemony herbal tea. First on: It's a refreshing green smell with a layer of verbena. I like it a lot, but I don't think it's going to have any holding power at all. Dry: A bit of honeysuckle and green tea is trying to hang in there, but the lemon verbena is completely gone. Not unexpected, but I still wish citrus scents could cling to skin a bit longer. Shanghai is a nice clean oil though.

    Midnight Mass

I have a wee partial imp of this (edit: I have the 2006 version!). Wet: Gentle, smoky Church incense. First on: Warm cedar, frankincense, and myrrh. Maybe a touch of rose or something else floral. Dry: Smoky but calming. It's gotten a little woodier, but it's warm and comforting, with a resinous background. My next imp pack from the Lab will have Cathedral for sure, since it's supposed to be quite similar!

    Creepy

Wet: Butterscotch drops and boozy caramel apples. First on: How does Beth do this?! My wrists smell EXACTLY like caramel apples! Dry: Perfectly dipped caramel apples like you smell at fall carnivals. This smells amazingly delicious. I was wary, because it turns out I don't like Punkie Night and everyone was comparing... but this is like a slightly boozy walk through the caramel apple vendors at the state fair. I love it!

    Snake Oil

Got this as a swap (thanks again jesvet!). This imp is just starting to age; I believe about 4 months old. Wet: A strong patchouli perfumey scent. First on: The oil is thicker than anything else I've tried before, but from what I've read here that's what S.O. does as it ages. I'm mostly getting the Indonesian oils in this. Patchouli is pretty strong still. Dry: S.O. dries down into a sugared oil blend with a warm glow of smoky vanilla. Not at all what I expected out of it, but it's surprisingly nice. Unfortunately, my boyfriend seems to think I smell like hand soap. Specifically, he said "you smell like my hands after I wash them at the Safeway gas station bathroom." Why he can be that specific, I have no idea. =P I'm getting the Snake Pit soon, so hopefully S.O. mixed with other notes will remind him less of bathrooms. Heh. I'd also like to give fresh from the Lab Snake Oil a try, too.

    The Tell-Tale Heart

Wet: Spicy cocoa and warm musk. First on: My skin, naturally, starts amping the dragon's blood. So it's that with a spicy cocoa swimming underneath. Dry: The vetiver is coming out to play with the dragon's blood. It became a warm, earthy scent with an undercurrent of musk, spice and cocoa going in and out. This smell is so me. I have loved other scents, but nothing has screamed "me" until now.

    Hell's Belle

Got this as a frimp on my order from the Lab. Wet: Whoa! A rush of deep musk is spot on. The moment I open the imp, a rich floral musk comes pouring out! First on: Spicy, musky, exotic florals. This actually smells like something my mom would love. Dry: The musk mellows a bit, leaving a spicy slightly citrusy (I smell you mandarin, peeking out!) floral blend. Something's keeping the flowers in check, preventing them from getting too sweet. What a sensous smell. I love it, but I think my mom would like it even more.

    Tezcatlipoca

Wet: Warm rich cocoa with a hint of lingering incense and flowers. First on: Leathery cocoa. Manly. It's lovely, but I'm not sure I want to smell manly... Dry: At this point, it's like a cocoa-laced stick of patchouli incense. Very nice, although I suspect it might be nicer as a room scent.

    Punkie Night

Wet: Ooh, apple cider. First on: Cranberries make their entrance, a very nice mellow mix, like warm autumn cider. Dry: I'm getting something just a bit woodsy, which I'm guessing is the apple orchards. It was quite nice, but as it fades it's going a bit more commercial perfumey, and I'm not liking that. Going to chalk it up to "not for me".

    Pumpkin Queen

Wet: Oh god it's warm spicy pumpkin pie and I love it already. First on: Ginger, amber, pumpkin. It's gorgeous, like I just baked a spicy pie. Dry: More ambery but still quite a lot of ginger and pumpkin. I get little hints of orange fading in and out, too. This just smells delicious, it's too bad it's LE or I'd slather it.

    Chaos Theory III: Strange Attractors

DCXXXII Wet: Well, before I even open the imp it smells strongly like the sort of commercial perfume that makes me ill, and I'm wary to even try it. But I'm close to a sink to wash it off, and I like an adventure. Bizarrely, the moment I open the imp, it smells just like a cough drop. Not an auspicious start, to say the least. First on: Hmmm. I can't identify any notes off-hand. Something is definitely floral, but it's not a mix I like. The floral part is very sharp, but it's as if it's underneath a layer of dust. Dry: It's dry now, and it's not the revolting floral stuff I hate, but it's definitely not for me. Eesh. Swap pile asap. Previously reviewed by Sofia Blackthorne

    Dragon's Milk

Wet: Honeyed vanilla. So sugary I almost want to drink it. First on: My skin amps the dragon's blood immediately. It's now a warm vanilla-cherry with the force of dragon's blood behind it. Dry: Still rich and heady, warm vanilla and cherry-resin dragon's blood. Wish I could bathe in the stuff.

    Enraged Bunny Musk

Wet: Mmm, musky and kind of powdery. I like it already. First on: *_* So good and light. I don't exactly know what cotton blossom smells like, but I'm getting the baby's breath with musk and powder. Smells great. Dry: Despite the name this is a pretty mellow scent. I love it. Why oh why did I only get a partial imp...

    Zorya

Wet: Decorative old lady floral soap. Meh. Giving it a full try, but I'm not optimistic. First on: No musk, no spices, just flowery soap. It's not so disgusting I'm going to run to wash it off, but it's really not me... waiting to see what it does when it dries. Dry: Practically faded all away, which is ok with me to be honest. The jasmine and iris mellowed into the musk a bit, but I'm not really getting any spice and it still reminds me of old decorative bath soaps. It goes in the swap pile.

Chaos Theory II : The Butterfly Effect

CTII: CCLXVIII (268 I believe) Wet: Strong green mint. Just what mint, I'm not sure. First on: Oh, it's spearmint! And something creamy. Actually it's a bit like sharp chewing gum, which isn't as unpleasant as it sounds. Dry: Hmm, vanilla? With spearmint? But there's some spice going on here too. Vanilla cream and spice are fading into the background, though. I'm going to have to give this a second round. I'm intrigued, but not convinced I want spearmint on my wrists. Kuang Shi

Wet: White musk and sandalwood all the way. This is a very white scent. Actually, in the bottle it reminds me of my mom and some of her favorite perfumes. First on: Less mom, more oranges. Still musky, but it's distinctly fruity first and foremost. Dry: Soft mango and orange with just a little woody musk in the background. Gorgeous scent. I want to lick my wrist, actually.

    Hurricane

Wet: I sniffed at this and wasn't sure I'd like it. It's really strong and tangy in the vial. First on: I'm holding off on washing this off, because it's still pretty strong. Biting. Dry: Strange, now it's all breezy salty water and a wet wood smell (which is the vetivert, I think). It's unusual, but actually rather nice now that it's settled down. It's no longer so strong I can sniff my wrists from a distance, either. Hmm... just very strange.

    Dragon Moon 2006

Wet: Sandalwood and bamboo are overpowering any other notes in this. Sniffing at it a lot I can make out some cherry. First on: Instantly morphs into dragon's blood and cherry, mmm. None of the greenness is coming through, though. Dry: Still dragon's blood and cherry, with sandalwood drifting in and out. Definitely a power scent as the description suggests, but without the notes that make me feel ill. I think this might be my favorite yet.

    Neptune

Wet: Strong and aquatic. Not heavy, though. Not pinning anything down. First on: Whoa. Sharply floral. Kind of jumps out to slap you in the face. I don't like this part...but I'll wait to see if it settles down. Dry: Oh, wow. It did settle down, and I'm glad I didn't go wash it off. Bergamot/orangey for sure. There's a little hint of musk and something else that I can't identify. I love it dry. ETA: Tried it again, and as it ages it just gets more floral and sharp.

    Devil's Night

The person I bought this from didn't have it labeled as either 2005 or 2006, so I'm not sure which it is. Wet: Musky. That's pretty much all I can smell from the bottle. First on: Oho, there's the sugar. Actually it almost smells like sweet ginger mixed with musk. Maybe that's the "autumn night". Dry: I'm getting hints of all of it now, I think. Sugary, spicy, musk, maybe a little of something that could be described as boozy. Good mix, great oil for when I want to feel a little sexy.

    Thirteen (13)

My decant is from January 13 '06. It's actually my first BPAL scent ever! And this is like, my second review, and I wrote it out a couple of weeks ago. Since then I've decided I'm in love with this oil. Wet: Wow, white chocolate. I could smell it even before I opened the imp. I get a little hint of the tea as well, but it's mostly the chocolate and it smells good. First on: The chocolate smell disappeared. It's all tea and iris now, and those make a lovely mix. Dry: Chocolate has made a reappearance, and it's mingling nicely with the tea and iris. I'm not really getting the fruit notes in this at all, but that's okay. I really like this blend.

    Venus

I bought this as part of an imp set to tide me over until I get my first order from the Lab. I'm still new at this reviewing thing. Wet: Hrm, this is hard to describe. Clean and wet, and cool. First on: Oh, there are the florals. Like a rained-on flower garden. Dry: Still a springtime flower garden. I smell a bit of pink rose, maybe some carnations too? But there are other flowers and water too. I wouldn't say this is an everyday scent for me, but I like it. It's nice and light.
