Chaos Theory VI: Recursive Self-Similarity v7walshbc111 replied to Kitrona's topic in Limited Editions 77- in the bottle my initial reaction was passionfruit.... But I think this is guava and maybe strawberry and a tiny hint of something light and musky- perhaps skin musk. On, this is a very light, sweet vanilla with a hint of strawberry and guava and a hint of musk. Faded pretty fast into a gentle fruity marshmallow scent. Kind of reminded me of Cheshire moon, xanthe, and marshmallow poof, and plastic pink flamingo, but gentler and more subtle than those. Very, very lovely. 206- orange, licorice/sassafras vanilla and maybe some saffron? Smells like creamsicle in the bottle. Wet, initially it smells very licorice, goes through a weird heavy saffron stage, then dries into a really pretty licorice creamsicle smell with just a touch of saffron. Also very lovely.

In the bottle- honey and fruit. hmmm. Wet- The honey note in this is sweet and innocent, not the usual sexy wild honey I recognize. The flowers are gentle and blend well, and the overall experience kind of morphs the flowers into one sweet fruity note. This will be a lovely floral blend for people who generally favor fruity blends, I think. Dry- You're sitting in the sun, in a gigantic field of lush wildflowers, eating pineapples and oranges and apricots and pears that you're dipping into sweet pale golden honey. Kinda like that.

Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self Similarity v4walshbc111 replied to marared's topic in Limited Editions XCII In the bottle, this is a fresh, summery, very round and happy smelling snake oil. It smells pale green, with hints of dandelion and green apple skins. Wet, this is strong, unmistakable classic snake oil, a bit greener- I smell hints of sweet citrus, like a candied lime or yuzu, a hint of mint, and some herbal/leafy note. I imagine this would smell a lot like what would happen if someone mixed an imp of envy in with a 5ml of snake oil. I like it. Dry, this scent is even more snake oil-y, with just a hint of green around the edges. So pretty.

Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self-Similarity v2walshbc111 replied to dawndie's topic in Limited Editions LVII In the bottle- I smell the O base, but transformed into something sweeter and foodier. This is kind of like molasses, or or like a fruitcake without the fruit. Wet- O with a triple dose of creamy vanilla. I'm also getting a definite anise note and something kind of like mulling spices- clove maybe? Dry- Stays true to the wet scent. A creamy, gourmand heavy vanilla O. I feel like I just won the lottery to have gotten this.

Next update, I'm thinking about picking up a CD bottle or two- but I don't know where to start! So far I've tried Xanthe (pretty, not my favorite ever, but not ew) and Boomslang (not a big Snake Oil fan, so it's swapped away.) I like rich, foody notes, boozy notes, and I love fruit scents. My favorite BPAL's so far are Eat Me, Mr. Nancy, MB: Closet, Fire Pig, and Jack. Oh, I love Grog and Jailbait too. I'm pretty not into florals, and I REALLY hate jasmine and gardenia. I also can't stand the milk note like in milk moon. Oh, and I'm fairly allergic to clove oil. Have any ideas of some bottles I might like? I'm not against taking a risk on something that I may have to swap away.
