    Aureus

Wet: Not sure on this one. It's a honeyed incense, that has a lingering herby sourness to it. Drying: Okay, here's the incense. This is lovely now. It's warmed up and whatever that off note was is gone. Dry: Golden incense. it's quite nice! I would not call this airy or light, but it has a powerful golden, sunny feel to it. There is some cedar in here, because it has a brightly polished wood feel to it that I really like. Other than that, I couldn't pick out many individual notes.

    Gomorrah

Wet: Faint. A little herby, getting more so as it blooms on my skin. Not bad just...unremarkable. Drying: Here it is! it's spicy and warm. I am very much getting the herbs, with a hint of fruity sweetness. Dry: Strong on the herbs and the not sweet fig. I appreciate that it's fruity but not sweet, though it will remain to be seen how much I wear it.

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

I tried to pick out more masculine aquatics as well as a few others that might be a match... The Spell of the Eastern Sea - Sea salt, kelp, and twisting willows. Jolly Roger - Sea spray with an undercurrent of leather, Bay Rum, and salty, dry woods. Calico Jack - Sea air, driftwood, waterlogged kelp, and the memory of plundered spices sprayed over worn leathers, rough musk, and the salty wooden floorboards of the Revenge. Kingsport - Salty ocean breezes touched by a numinous, incandescent mist. Galvanic Goggles - Metallic notes with Indian musk, tobacco flower, and African balsam. Antony - A warrior's scent: the green hills and grasses of the battlefields, the resinous incense from the prayers to his Gods, and a touch of the musky leather of his armor. Ambergris and frankincense with sage, and basil. Knight in Shiny Armor - dapper lavender fougere with white carnation, sweet oakmoss, clary sage, crisp leather, bourbon vanilla, and a hint of armor polish. Krampus - Sinister red musk, black leather, dusty rags, and wooden switches. No. 93 Engine - Balm of Gilead, benzoin, frankincense, balsam of peru, beeswax, saffron, galbanum, calamus, hyssop, mastic, lemon balm, and white sage. You hit some of my loves right on the head! And I really want to try Kingsport and Knight in Shiny Armour, so maybe there's something to this idea that personality lends itself to certain notes.

    Baba Yaga

Wet: This is definitely the patchouli that is strange, and it's almost rancid. I'm getting oakmoss, patchouli and a really gross metal... I think the notes are combining with the white florals and just doing something awful. Nope...

    Jabberwocky

An earthy yet buoyant scent: pine, eucalyptus and orange. Wet: I never would have tried this if I hadn't been frimped it, but it's lovely. it's like Pine-Sol and Vick's vaporub had a baby. i know that sounds awful, but something about it is so comforting and uplifting. Drying: There is much more pine, and the medicinal quality of the eucalyptus is way toned down. there's a hint of something like orange bitters showing up now too. Dry: Christmas trees. The artificial nature of this is gone and it smells like a pine tree by orange potpourri. Yum and totally unexpected.

    Anactoria

Wet: Musk, amber and honey are doing a sexy, sexy dance on my skin. There is something a little woody and powdery lurking in the background but it's a nice sort of spicy powder that I like. Drying: This has been sweetened a great deal by the currant, but unlike a lot of red berry notes, this isn't going candy or overly rancid. Dry: If there weren't notes besides musk, amber and honey, I wouldn't know to look for them and that is not a complaint in the least. it's spicy, warm and very sexy but not in your face.

    Bien Loin D'Ici

Wet: These are exactly the same sour Moroccan herbs and spices that make Snake Oil so awful for me. It smells like stale urine. No musk, no caramel, no benzoin, just sour spiced honey. Off it comes.

    Death on a Pale Horse

Wet: Vetiver and patchouli, my dear friends. There is a green sweetness that I like, but it's sappy and not floral, which is good given my worries about some of the floral notes. Drying: some of the lavender and green notes are coming into play, but it doesn't lose the vetiver and patchouli smokey base that I love so much. I'm getting a hint of ozone that may be the mint and lemon, but it's not in your face mint at all, which is good. Dry: The floral notes really stayed in the back, which makes this blend a really smokey sweet scent that's very me. I see this being a great cooling summer scent.

    Nero

Wet: this smells like rosemary flatbread... The pine and lemon are there, and the pine is blooming on my pine loving skin, but flat breads. Drying: And now it smells like urine... whoops... Dry: This is bearable now that it's dry. it is just sour and off somehow... Not working with my chemistry.

    Malice

Wet: Why hello there patchouli. This is patch, some of the warmth of clove and just a hint of incense. Drying: Getting some of the sweetness of the ylang but this is still patch dominant with the warmth of the clove and myrrh. This is a better, less sweet Lust. Dry: Sweeter, and there is more clove now, but it's still a really warm, nice scent.

    Arcana

Wet: I'm lucky I like lavender, because this is all this is right now. Maybe a little rosemary? But pretty much sharp, clear lavender. Drying: And now it smells like Badger Balm bug repellent... All verbena and lemony herbs. Maybe a hint of incense hanging around. Dry: A sharp underwhelming heryby scent. There are much better options out there for this category and I doubt I'll get much use out of this imp, even though it's not unpleasant smelling.

    Anubis

Wet: I knew this would be a scent I would love and I am not wrong. There is something honeyed about this, and almost floral, but the greens and resins keep it from being a scent I would classify as floral. Drying: This is really blooming wonderfully on my skin. That sweetness and floral vibe is really pronounced and honey like right now and I love it, which is odd for someone who really hates floral scents of most kinds. Dry: I am stunned there isn't honey in this blend because this is exactly what this is starting to smell like. The lab's honey note is usually way too much, but the combination of honey and incense is just scrumptious! I've finally found a honey prominent blend I can wear!

    Leather and Pepper

Nope - it's not a leather blend at all.. the notes are: Bay rum, bourbon vanilla, galangal, hyssop, High John the Conqueror root, tobacco, life everlasting, and brimstone. which honestly isn't very helpful because it's hard to imagine what all that smells like! But what made me think of it for you is the gorgeous spicy/peppery feel that it has - it doesn't smell 'spicy' as such, more smokey maybe... like a smokey pepper with a really deep warmth. I know it's not what the 'leather and pepper' you were asking about, but I do love a good leather/spice mix myself and Hellhound is not that but I like it very much and I think you might too The only down side is that it's kind of hard to find, but maybe read through the reviews and see if you think it's worth hunting some down I'll look at it for sure! It sounds like it might be something worth testing out. It's only the most beautiful leather I have put on my skin! I love my bottle to bits.

    Leather and Pepper

No! Is it a good spicy leather? Always down for more spicy leather scents!

Myers Briggs: ISFP I'm slow to trust and reserved with strangers, but if you get me onto a subject I'm passionate about, I can and do talk people's ears off. I am very inter nerdy things like sci-fi, fantasy and comics, and love cosplay and conventions. I am queer and non-binary and enjoy masculine scents. Girly things, in life and perfume both, are really not my style. I'm a snuggly sweaters and mom jeans type of gal. I'm pretty introverted, and my favorite places are quiet and calm. I am especially partial to the ocean, and am a third generation sailor. I am studying to be a microbiologist and am minoring in creative writing. I love dogs, snakes and traveling.

    Leather and Pepper

So despite failing to find the Soldier on my own, it magically appeared in a circle swap I hosted and is amazeballs. And tontentanz is another yummy leather/pepper combo that to me rivals Loviatar for sexy. I tend to amp leathers, so most 'sweet' notes tend to vanish. Wish I was more use.

    The Soldier

Wet: Yummy, yummy musk. The vanilla and pepper are both at play, one lending a stunning sweetness, the other spicy depth. Drying: The leather's much more prominent now and this light slightly caramel sweetness that I can only assume is the pie has come out, but this is heavy on the musk, which keeps any sweetness from the cream and pie from going foody. Dry: This is just the sort of musk I love, in your face, sexy and confident. The notes that really throw are the musk, pepper and leather, in that order, but the other notes lend a sweetness not unlike the vibe I get from Dorian. This is kinda like Dorian's sexy older brother. Totally a masculine scent, even with the sweetness, but the right kind of lady could pull this off no problem.

    Spooky

Ressurected, 09 Wet: Artificial mint.... The combination of mint and what I can only assume is the rum makes this smell like bad mint syrup toppings for ice cream. And now it's plastic. The rum notes tend to hate me, and alas, this is no exception.

    Tanuki

Wet: I was worried about all those florals, but my chemistry's love of pine is making this a surprsingly woody floral. I am getting osmanthus for sure and while usually that floral goes right to my head, it is behaving quite nicely. Drying: This is becoming more of a bland white floral now, which is a shame. The wet stage was nice, but the drydown is everything I hate about white floral. off it goes.

    The Phoenix At Dawn

Wet: I like most citrus scented cleaning products, but this one made me cringe. No dry down is worth smelling like this. Screaming white floral, soapy grapefruit and something that reminds me of my nana's coppertone sunscreen. Off my skin right now.

    Singing Moon

Wet: Ahhh, my beloved dirt note. This is a very dirty green and slightly damp scent on me. Drying: I'm going to have to test this next to Graveyard Dirt. They have a similar strong herby dirt feel to them, though Singing Moon seems to be more like grass covered dirt after rain than freshly turned soil. Dry: This is more like zombi without the rose now. Dirt and herbs. A very nice addition to my collection of dirt based perfumes. (Only at BPAL is a dirt based perfume not frightening.)

    Sol Invictus

Wet: I am honestly amazed by how beautiful this is. I was worried by some of the sweeter florals, and while this is a very floral blend, the citrus makes it mouthwatering. Drying: Now it's starting to get spicier as the amber and frankincense make themselves known. I much prefer this stage, as it tempers the sweetness and makes this scent more my style. Dry: it's a bit dusty now, but I still love the depth and warmth of this. A keeper for sure.

    The Unheavenly City

Wet: Green roses. This is not the usual rose that goes ouchy on me, but there is something off about the green sappy scent. Drying: Now this is spicy rose sap...blech... There is also something unpleasantly sweet hanging around. Off it goes before it turns my stomach...
  25. Zii

    Arkham

Wet: Bitter floral. It sweetens up pretty quickly, but it is just so not my type of scent. Very girly and light. None of the strong woods I was hoping for. And now, like so many florals do, it's going to my head...
