    Dracul

I'm reviewing for my boyfriend; I bought this scent for him as an early V-day present. IN BOTTLE: Overwhelming mint! It sneaks into my nose and creeps into my throat and lingers there. I almost imagine it like a ghostly hand wrapping around my neck, squeezing with its minty strength. FIRST APPLIED: Minty again, and pine's starting to seep in. My boyfriend says it's very dark compared to Jolly Roger on the other wrist. DRY-DOWN: "It smells like Christmas!" he says. "One wrist is Florida, the other is Christmas." No cumin in sight (or smell) fortunately. Dracul smells like a burning coffin, or a castle in the forest on fire. Something like that. "Fire" is what I think of, though it doesn't really have any fire in it. The mint has subdued nicely and the pines, tobacco, and musk are coming out to play. I'm glad he likes it Definately a manly scent.

    Black Cat

    In the bottle it smells minty. On me it smelled, at first, a bit minty and very crisp and clean. Drying down, it smells like fresh-washed hair and essence of shampoo. In short, it smells like a hair salon. ^^;

    Jolly Roger

Sea spray with an undercurrent of leather, Bay Rum, and salty, dry woods. In the bottle, this smelled sweet and salty. Mostly bay rum and seawater. On my boyfriend it settles into PIRATE. This is a Jack Sparrow scent. It smells mostly like leather and salty woods on my boyfriend, but if you cram your nose right against his skin you can kind of note a coconutty bay rum. Yum So, if you could tack an image onto this scent, it would be:

    Zorya

IN BOTTLE: Ooh, jasmine! But softened with the rest. FIRST APPLIED: Spicy jasmine and other flowers. Like the first reviewer said, it is a very regal, noble, serious scent. I like it a lot. DRY-DOWN: It's starting to get a little powdery on me, but the jasmine is fortunatley fading significantly. It's too early to tell if this is a keeper, but I definately like it! I had to wiki for the information about what the Zoryas were, and this is very cool, and a great representation for the more spiritual representation of Scorpio (me!)

    Katharina

IN BOTTLE: Fresh, light, pink, orange, and green. A spring breeze with light fruits. I definately smell the apricot the most, but maybe it's the orange blossom that's taming it. FIRST APPLIED: It takes on an almost minty tone - sharp, light, bright and clean, without the "stickiness" of most other sweet smells I like. I like this one too, though. Then bam. It turns a bit soapy and powdery. It's not dry, however, so it still has time to redeem itself. I guess that must be the musk coming out. Musk ALWAYS comes out on me. My boyfriend likes it a lot, saying it reminds him of Glade plug-ins and childhood. DRY-DOWN: Now, the musk has faded and all I can smell is the apricot and orange blossom. It's a nice, fruity floral, and it's clean and dry, but still sweet. I like it. I could only wear it with something light and flowy, though! Odd, wasn't Katharina supposed to be a stubborn and willful older daughter (like me, herher)? You'd think it'd smell "tougher" than this. It's still a great smell

    Dragon's Milk

IN BOTTLE: Cherry vanilla, and something that creeps into my nose and grabs hold tight. An unscented power behind the sweetness. FIRST APPLIED: The cherry smell spreads out instantly and it starts to smell a lot drier and more herbal. It's a sweet, mild, strong, and dry all at once. Dusk, dark, deep, dripping, dust, a lot of D words to describe this, ironically. I really like it. I didn't think I'd be fond of cherry smells, but I am. I wonder where that even comes from! DRYING-DOWN: More floral now, probably the dragon's blood, but still something dripping and sweet, yet dry. I really like this. It's a keeper!

    Eat Me

IN BOTTLE: If you take a million vanilla cakes and squeeze them into one little vial, this would be the scent. FIRST APPLIED: MMMMMMMM!!!! RICH, moist vanilla birthday cake! Some of that yellow cake too, which is my favorite. There's a layer between cakes of a berry spread... oh... so delicious! And sugary white frosting on top with sugared flowers decorating the cake. It almost smells like scratch n' sniff stuff for kids. It's like exaggerated cake. Cake to the max. But it's sooo good. DRYING-DOWN: The currants are coming out very strongly, but mixed with vanilla, it's very nice and sweet. I really like it, and I definately want to keep it, but it's not something I'd wear every day, in fear that I'd grow tired of it. It kind of smells like those blue scented markers for kids, now.

    Black Pearl

In the bottle, it smelled like coconut and hazelnut. It was good. On my skin, first applied and dry, it smelled just like hazelnuts. I really don't like hazelnuts! I got it for the coconut and iris. It smelled so strongly of JUST hazelnuts that it gave me the feeling that I ate them and I started to feel icky. Ah, well. This one didn't work for me.

    Dana O'Shee

IN BOTTLE: Milk, almond, and honey. Some of my most favorite scents. Ahhh, it's freaking gorgeous! FIRST APPLIED: Not so much milk, but more almond milk and honey. It's so delicious. It htis the nose as kind of sharp, but I LOVE this smell. This smell makes me think of fresh warm skin after a bath or something. DRYING DOWN: The sharp smell's going away, as is the almond. I'm left with the description of the smell definately. Milk, honey, sweet grains. It makes me feel happy and swimmy, if that makes sense. I love love love LOVE this smell! IN A SENTENCE: I'm getting a 5mL bottle of this as soon as I can!!!

    Hamadryad

Nature spirits and protectors of the world's groves and forests that appear as breathtakingly beautiful women. Hamadryads are born into a tree that serves as both a home and an anchor for the creature's soul. They are sometimes tricksters, sometimes seducers, sometimes helpful and benign, but they are always fierce and furious protectors of the natural world. Seven dry woods with mossy lichen and a gentle breeze of forest flowers. IN BOTTLE: It smells very minty. Almost like licorice, but mostly, deep wintergreen. It reminds me of the Tom's of Maine wintergreen mouthwash. FIRST APPLIED: It's quickly drying down, but that minty smell isn't going away. It's a good smell, but it doesn't make me think of dryads or a forest. My boyfriend says it smells like this handmade ointment from Vietnam that was used to soothe muscles. DRY-DOWN: It's drying down WAY too quick, and there's not much strength in this scent at all compared to some of the others I've tried today. It's a good scent - still minty, but it's drying into something a little more woody. Light woods, though. Maybe lichen smells like mint? Either way, it's nice. Crisp and clean. EDIT: It didn't leave my skin even after trying to wash it off. My boyfriend likes it more than I do, so I'm going to give it to him. Fortunately, on me, it smelled very asexual, so I think it'd work on guys that are interested in trying woody scents, too.

    Cobra Lily

Cobra Lily is, I'm assuming, the scent of the actual plant Darlingtonia californica, not lilies. It still smells great, though! It smells very sweet, kind of like agave nectar. Very juicy and bright. I was afraid of it because of the name, thinking that it was a poisonous flower or something, but nope, just a hungry carnivorous one, trying to lure us (and others) in with that dripping sweet, bright nectar scent. Mm. Drying down it's starting to smell more... well... dryer. Rich spicy, almost, but still sugary-nectary-sweet. I REALLY like this scent. The folks at BPAL must know I like sweet, fruity scents. I should also add that this is a very strong scent on me and has been lasting a long time! Delicious and yay! Unlike others it makes me think of bright greens, like I'm smelling this in a greenhouse.

    Titania

IN BOTTLE: Ahh, so rich, yet delicate, and fruity! It's almost like a candy, it's so sweet. FIRST APPLIED: Still extremely fruity, but there's a little "bite" that comes out, too. That "bite" just faded away, however. It smells very clean and fresh -- the "dew kissed petals" description hits this scent perfectly. Floral scents are starting to come out, but it's still retaining a very fruity, wet smell. It makes me think of this passionfruit body spray I had when I was a kid. The passionfruit spray was too terribly disgustingly sweet, though, and this is a bit milder. Makes me think of purples and blues and big fat raindrops that smell like fruit. A spring sunset, with huge fat raindrops falling on overripe fruit trees. DRY-DOWN: It's beginning to settle down into a milder fruity scent. I can almost smell vanilla. I don't smell much, if any, of the floral notes in this perfume. I really like this, but for now it's TOO sweet. When it's drier, later, it will smell even better. When I smeared it on when I first got my perfumes, this was the longest lasting perfume. It was a very "purple" scent, if that makes sense. It's got good throw and lasts a VERY long time on me. I may get a bottle.

    Fae

IN BOTTLE: Millions of peaches, peaches for me! FIRST APPLIED: This is the "bright, sparkly, green" scent people were talking about. Yum. It's very juicy, like when you take a bite of fruit and the juice rolls down over it. The peach is very dominant in this, but it's a "green" peach scent. WHEN DRIED: This smells EXACTLY like my Oma's perfume. Oh god. You can smell this smell when you hug her. It's like this warm, clean smell of skin with some very mild, sweet overtones. It's definately the white musk and peach. Warm, musky peach, and skin. I love this smell, but it keeps making me think of my Oma. Either way, THIS is definately a "me" scent. Warm, light, fruity, delicious! Also, this lasted well over 10 hours on me. Excellent!

    Juliet

IN THE BOTTLE: Very flowery, and almost soapy. It makes me think of these crayon soaps I had as a kid, and you could doodle on the walls with them when they were wet. FIRST APPLIED: It has that sharp, biting, floral scent that I really don't like, and holy CRAP it smells like lavender soap. It smells like my Oma, when she goes out. Unfortuantely I put WAY too much on, and it actually is producing the feeling like I got soap in my mouth. Bleeuch. DRYING DOWN: It smells better wafting in the air than directly on my skin. I think I smell the lilies and sweet peas the most. If there's any fruit in this, I don't smell a drop of it. Mainly sweet peas. There's something almost mossy and thick, too - but that may be the musk. It's hard to tell right now if this is a "me" scent, because it's still too strong, but if the fruity notes were a bit more prevalent, and if I didn't apply so much, it would be.

    Black Forest

IN THE BOTTLE: It has a very clean, piney scent, like fresh broken fir needles. It makes me think of St. Edwards Park here in Seattle, near Bastyr, on a cloudy day. Lots of shade, but you're surrounded by these huge, tall, protective trees with the cool air carrying that clean pine scent. WET/DRYING: It smells kind of powdery on me, almost like pine-resin baby powder (could this be the musk, or ambergris? No clue what ambergris typically smells like). That works well, because I just got out of the shower. FURTHER DRYING: Starting to smell the wood notes and more pine needles again... And now I'm smelling something almost floral? It kind of reminds me of very dry wood, and resin. There's some aging, mossy smell I'm picking up too. The baby-powder smell is going away. It smells much better dried on me, than when it was wet - but it still smells best in the bottle! DRY: The musk and wood smells are coming out the most on my skin. The wood is starting to smell like that of a fallen, rotting tree, where the wood is so soft and ripe that when you touch it it breaks apart like wet sawdust. I really like that smell. Other than that, it's pretty musky on me. It's growing on me Overally it is definately a nostalgic, clean, and protective scent on me. I like the feeling of huge, ancient trees towering over me, and that is the feeling I get from this. However, it also makes me think that it's starting to get dark in the forest, which is no fun to get lost in. I should add this smelled WONDERFUL, sharp, clean and piney, on my boyfriend, and on him the scent lasted a long time and wafted through the whole room even though he only used a few drops. I'm leaning towards saying it's a more masculine scent, but for girls out there that like foresty, piney scents it would work well, too.
