Hi all, I'm going to try very hard to get the updates posted this weekend, now that the C15 and various new CBLDF scents have been announced.
-
For personal reasons, I REAAAAALLY wanted to like Set. I should have guessed from the Egyptian background that it would be all desert and musks, and that my skin would despise it.
In the bottle, it's sand and heat over throbbing wet musk. Wet, I get sharp notes of vetiver and exotic spices. The very hot musks still dominate this scent, but what's this? A tempting sweet honeyed note? My oasis in the desert? Oh god, this becomes pretty intoxicating. I can't stop sniffing my arm.
And then the heady tropical florals at the desert oasis take over and I cannot get it off my skin fast enough.

Blueberry, for sure!
In the bottle, it's sticky sweet blueberry, the same as is in Crawdad Dream, barely tempered with vanilla.
Wet, it becomes a rich, dark, fruity scent and loses quite a bit of the cloying sweetness. There's some type of musk present, as it starts to take on a "blueberry-scented eraser" lean. Thankfully, that passes once it settles into my skin. An earlier review claimed spice but I think acquires more of a woodsy undertone, almost like sandalwood. It's a mature blueberry scent, not at all like Strawberry Shortcake's companion. It has very little throw, but seems to linger for a while.

Updated! Includes all the DD prototypes and Summer Blockbusters, plus today's Smoky Moon update.
-
Now including Strawberry Moon update, Warrior Queens, new forum-only, and something else I'm forgetting.
-
Poenari helpfully pointed out that I'd missed adding Yorick as part of the April Fools' release. How quickly we forget those we knew! He's now included.
-
How can I print just the names and descriptions without them getting cut off? I'm not familiar with spreadsheets/excel and what not. I must concur with everyone else and say Hackess you rock & Thank You!Select all by hitting Ctrl+A, then right click and select "Format Cells..." Select the Alignment tab, and check the "Wrap text automatically" box. I'm using OpenOffice, but the Excel steps are about the same.
Edit: Additionally, Planting Moon has been added.
-
New stuff will always be at the bottom, and the date column will tell you what's newest. I think most people copy out the new lines and paste into their own annotated versions.
Velvet, Le Mat, etc. are already there. I'll add Planting Moon tonight or tomorrow. You can always check my sig for the last updated date

The numerals were almost completely rubbed off of mine. I see very faint Cs, and at least two Xs at the end. I *think* it's CCCXXX -- 330.
In the bottle, there's a very faint trace of the Snake Oil, blanketed heavily by what I think is violet and something vaguely tropical. Passionfruit?!
Wet on my skin, I detect notes of coffee, some kind of wood, and a very sharp floral. As it dries, cotton. This is a really weird and schizo scent, and contains very little SO.
-
Now including March's 13, Flower Moon, CT5, Bards, Ides, April Fools!
-
Sorry for the delay! Updated to include 13, Windy Moon, Dark Delicacies/Great Duets in Horror, the prototypes, etc.
-
Is there a place that the old limited edition and retired scent descriptions are listed? Has anyone made a database of these? (Or am I the only one this obsessed?)Thank you!
All of those are in the spreadsheet I link in my sig.
-
ok I downloaded it but now what do I do? I've never made a spreadsheet before. Thanks for making itI'm having to cut back on my bpal testing now though since I'm so broke but I can still use this.
Use Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice (my personal fav) to open it, and then...whatever you'd like. Highlight scents you'd like to try, make notes on scents you've already tried. Many of us who use it have an at some times complex color scheme we use for marking scents we want to try.

I second what MisterShrapnel said! This is such a wonderful tool. Thank you so much for creating it and keeping it up to date and sharing it with us!!!-Sherry
Oh, I definitely can't take credit for the overall creation, but I'm happy to maintain and share it!

updated! Starts on line 1604 with Agape. BPTP updated as well.

I just want to add my own love for the BPAL spreadsheet <3 Really helps keep me from trying scents that I hated already. Cockaigne is marked with an all caps Do Not Want nowLOL! My personal version uses a dark grey background on the DO NOT WANT items.
I'll be posting the Lupercalia/Bony Moon update very shortly.
-
Added Moon of the Terrible and the giveaway and Will Call-only scents.
-
Green and fresh, with a hint of lemon and lime. I concur with other reviewers - there's definitely something in here that's effervescent. I'm wondering if this contains Beth's snow note. Not terribly strong, with very little weartime (disappeared within 10 minutes).
To be quite honest, Clorox makes a "green" toilet bowl cleaner that smells EXACTLY LIKE THIS.

Scent: Awesome. Sweet ginger and orange, it's strong without being overwhelming. Definitely lasts on my skin for a while afterwards.
Texture: Ehhh...when I hear scrub, I want SCRUB. There's very little scrubbing power in these scrubs, though they are FANTASTIC moisturizers. I got out of the shower, patted my feet dry, and immediately put on socks. My feet were soft and silky still at the end of the day. Not a huge fan of how greasy they leave my hands.

In the imp, it's highly aquatic and green, like Irish Spring soap.
Wet, it starts "drying" out very quickly, and I get a lot of sandalwood, dry crackling paper, and just an edge of that greenness from the initial stage -- aloe, maybe. It's a clean, fresh green, but it's an afterthought. Others have described it as The Castle without the blood, and if I close my eyes I can almost picture a bright sunny day next to a crumbling stone ruin surrounded by overgrown wild herbs.
Dry: Where'd it go? This one morphed super quickly and was gone just as fast. There are traces of it left on my hand, like the clean/soap smell on someone who got out of the shower an hour ago.
Absolutely no throw, and no wearlength, which is all fine for me as these aren't my notes. It was a pleasure to be able to try it, though!
