In the bottle and on my skin - jelly donuts. I did notice that the oil separates into two distinct layers, so be sure to rock the zombies gently before applying.

As others have mentioned, this seems to have the MB: Closet blackberry note. So in the bottle, it's Closet blackberry, minus the cocoa, with an added bit of scone. On my skin, it's mostly sugared blackberries. Lovely blend for a foody-lover like me!!

Looks like 2 different chemistry types are showing up with this prototype. I tend to agree more with Persephone's review. I thought I was going nuts when I smelled coconut, but I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one. I find Dorian v2 to be somewhat similar to the released version, but with more lavender, less lemon, and an added bit of coconut. The lavender tones down pretty quickly on my skin, and the coconut seemed stronger as time when on. Still has the musky tea quality that I love about Dorian, but the added lavender and coconut make this blend more creamy and delicate than the original. I really love it!

Sugared limes, very similar to key lime pie. I agree with persephone that this is the perfect summertime scent.

Lolita is absolutely, 100% Double Bubble Bubble Gum in liquid form.

I find Albedo to be a slightly creamy, coconut lemongrass blend. A very bright and cheery scent!
-
Tiki King is a musky coconut on my skin. Not getting much lemon blossom or bark, which is good because I typically amp wood notes. I find the scent to be similar to Lush's Trichomania solid shampoo.

I had such high hopes for this one as I love both lavender and jasmine But somehow this combination turns into a very angry floral on my skin, smelling similar to a heavy, very sharp rose. I hate rose.

In the bottle and on my skin: Root beer flavored herbal medicine.

I agree with Tarotgirl in that it smells sort of strange in the bottle. Almost like butter that's started to go bad. BUT, once I gave it a few moments to chill out on my skin, it morphs into buttercreamy, cakey goodness. It does seem to have a teeny touch of something incensey, but it just adds to the awesomness of this blend. This scent has great throw, but because it's such a creamy scent, it doesn't bowl you over. And it lasts a loooooong time. I put it on this morning, and I can still catch wiffs of it here an there, almost 10 hours later.

In the bottle: Lots o' lavender On my skin: At first it's mostly lavender with hints of verbena. The longer it's on my skin, the more the verbena comes out. When dry, it's Lush's Avobath plus lavender. Seems like TwilightEyes and I have similar skin chemistry. This is my favorite of all the bats!!

I received an imp of this with one of my orders and it's quickly moved to one of my top 10. A beautiful, creamy, slightly spicy carnation blend. I find it to be a wonderful scent to wear at work as it's gentle enough to not offend, but strong enough for me to catch yummy wiffs throughout the day.

On my skin, Closet is a very tart blackberry sweetened up with a hint of chocolate cake. I wish the cake notes were a bit stronger though. I'll try a full slather next time and see if that makes a difference.

DCVIII Received this as a frimp from the wonderful myth. This is snake oil and orange... something. Orange blossoms or maybe a sweeter orange peel? Might be some sandalwood in there too. Dry it retains both the orange and snake oil components, blending as musky orange snake oil. Unfortunately the orange note fades faster, so over time it's become more snake oil and less orange. I quite like this.

Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self-Similarity v1
scrappy replied to awesomeoverlord's topic in Limited Editions
CCXXXVlll (238) My bpal friends unanimously agreed on this one: Dorian + Rose. I was shocked to hear this because typically I HATE rose, but I absolutely adore this blend. The rose note is similar to Red Rose (although not quite that green), or possibly Hope due to it being a little sweet. Either way, the rose combined with the beautiful Dorian turns into something wonderful on my skin. A sweeter version of Dorian with a light floral tone. I love this!!! -
CCLXX I had to enlist the help of a couple of friends with my chaos bottles, but for the most part they agreed on this one. Snake oil + Xanthe. And by Xanthe, I mean that there's a bubblegummy quality to this scent. On my skin, I can definitely detect the snake oil and the bubblegum note sweetens it up a bit.

I have both the released version and the prototype on the same arm to do a direct comparison. The released version is a dry, more incensey scent on my skin. I find the prototype to be a much sweeter scent. I'm going to guess that there is more vanilla/sweet pea in the prototype and I personally like it MUCH better than the released version.

In the imp: Very sweet with a bit of sharp greens in the background. On my skin: Gardenia? I think? This has turned into a very sweet gardenia-esque floral.
-
In the bottle: CHERRIES! (almond almost always smells like cherries to me) On my skin: Mostly sweet honey with a hint of cherries/almond. Not bad actually, because when I first put it on I thought it would be ALL cherries.
-
In the imp: Spicey Pumpkin On my skin: Whoa, lots of Peach with some pumpkin pie filling in the background. A little too much peach for my taste.
-
To my untrained nose, this is a very deep, rich, sweet, incense-y blend. Very strong, so a little goes a long way with this sultry scent.
-
Wet on my skin, this is similar to the Orange Phoenix prototype, but a little less sweet. Dry it's mandarin with hint of musk.
-
In the imp: Sharp lemon with a little honeysuckle to sweeten it up. On the skin: Ahhh, here comes the green tea. Dry it's green tea with a slice of lemon, with a bit of a floral undertone. Very pretty!
-
Wet and dry, this is very similar to Lush's Chai Shower Gel. It's a beautiful warm and spicy scent, maybe cloves and allspice along with the tobacco, with a dry overall feel to it (probably the dust note).
-
On my skin: A licorice-y sugar skull with some underlying smoke. I'd like this if the smoke note wasn't so strong.
