An oil for use when you need to banish sh*tty vibes, the residue of petty arguments, low-level irritations, and the malocchio tossed by rude randos. In some cases, this can be utilized to actively banish certain spirits, but ymmv. This blend contains angelica essential oil, palo santo, Roman chamomile, and camphor oil. I will tell of Dionysus, the son of glorious Semele, how he appeared on a jutting headland by the shore of the fruitless sea, seeming like a stripling in the first flush of manhood: his rich, dark hair was waving about him, and on his strong shoulders he wore a purple robe. The components include master of the woods, musk seed, grape root, peppermint leaf. This post is merely a placeholder for future reviews. Dragon-Smooched Snake Oil
LiberAmoris replied to Deceitfuldescender's topic in Retail Exclusive Oils
Dragon-Smooched Snake Oil is fab. Snake Oil, honey, moar patch, and dragon's blood are a good combo. This has only improved since it arrived and I suspect it will age well. Resiny, red, and honeyed—Snake Oil with a strong red lip. This would be a great 'going out' perfume. -
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree Pulsating globs of red musk, viscera-thick black vegetal musk and opoponax, with white pepper, tuberose, white lavender, orris butter, and ambergris accord. Wow, yes, this is a red musk-heavy scent. Everything else flows in around the red musk. The most prominent sub-notes on me are the vegetal black musk and opoponax, followed by lavender and orris. The tuberose, white pepper, and ambergris round this out but don't assert themselves. It's one of those scents that's so well-blended that everything sort of melds. This is a musky fun mix, in the vein of Smut. I love red musk, so this is going to get a lot of wear from me!

One of the most potent blends that I’ve made, and while I’m loath to part with it, it’s for a good cause. This blend contains cubeb and 17-year aged patchouli. [No additional description provided.] Sweet Ginger and Patchouli HG plays out as a surprise in my hair—I think I was expecting something bolder, but this is soft and has an almost herbal feel. The ginger here isn't overly assertive, spicy, or sweet. It's a gentle ginger, coding unmistakably as ginger but sotto voce. The patchouli gives this an earthy feel, but it's similarly restrained. For the first few minutes or so, the combination of notes smells a bit like citronella. Then it mellows out to an earthy, herbal ginger. A pleasant, non-foody ginger scent for those who also like patchouli!

Gingerbread with olibanum, Oman myrrh, Damascus rose resin, and cassia. Gingerbread Cathedral! Just as it says on the tin, my friends. Cathedral is so good (another nostalgic fave from my early BPAL-addiction days), and the gingerbread here drives the churchy incense back to earth in the best way possible. Wet, it smells like a peppery, gingery Cathedral. But dry, this is gingerbready incense, with all the in-the-body notions of satiation and hunger (and maybe even gluttony!) up against the rising-toward-the-Godhead resins I associate with mass. It's perfect for this time of year, as it puts together both the secular and divine. Definitely a keeper, and I suspect this will age very well.

This is the scent of an awkward encounter with a Yule-evoked doppelgänger mate: spectral cologne, blurry herbs, fireplace ash, and a dusting of crumbs. Dorian Dopplegänger! Dumb Cake smells like Dorian on the other side of the looking glass. The spectral cologne note is pretty great—like a luminous Dorian. The blurry herbs and dusting of crumbs are very faint...there's just an edge of something foody here, like white cake and the barest hint of perhaps rosemary? The ash is also spectral—pure grey-white, rather than gritty, sooty black. It's fantastic, and I will enjoy every drop (and endeavor to get some on my husband, because I think this would be amazing on him).
