brilliant! the first thought that comes to mind is sherbet, it smells fizzy, sweet and spicy. I'm not getting berries (thank goodness!) but lots of carnation, amber and a little bit of sugar. I have a 5ml that I'm rationing carefully, everytime I take it out I'm tempted to slather it all over!

I loved the idea of Mabon, the description sounded so delicious and I could picture the scent in my mind's nose. sadly, wine and berries dont work on me, I had my suspicions after kali went sour on me but this proved it to me. I love the sage notes, but sadly only get them after a long spell of megaberries.
-
I like this, I was fairly certain I would my only reservation is the winey/fruity note that is similar to mabon, mabon didn't work for me at all and it almost spoils this one for me. happily I get mainly the musky/civet notes, yum.

I adore hearth, I think it'll take me a while to use my bottle, but I'll use every drop (then beg for more this yule!) it's so deep and smoky. I get chocolate, cherries, leather (only a little) and pipe tobacco. it's like sitting on the floor at my grandparent's house, they had a wood fire and my grandad smoked a pipe. I would sit on the floor playing, watching the flames and listening to the grownups talking till I fell asleep, hypnotised by the fire. it's a warm, comforting smell, like a well worn blanket being tucked round your shoulders.

oh my.. this is complex! I love the piney/medicinal note, it's yummy, unfortunately my skin took the berries and amped them up a million times.... I'm not such a fan of sweet berry types. I've tried it twice in case I was having hormonal issues with it, I so wanted this one to like me.

this is sad review. I went into this with an open mind as I've now tried a few rose bpals and realised that I didn't hate all rose afterall... rose red, it has a green note which (sadly) just turns sour on me, I think I'm not a big fan of green perfumes. in the bottle it smells utterly gorgeous, on me it smells like icky dead flower water

wow, a floral (and it is floral) that I love! it's just gorgeous, I get mostly jasmine with some rose in the background, delicious! even as it fades it stays gorgeous, does not turn to powder it stays very strong even a few hours after I've applied it, and the warmer I get the more throw it has, tonight at my bodypump class I know I'll be getting little whiffs of this wafting past my nose as I workout. strangely it makes me feel very feminine, which as a rather butch kinda girl is a wierd experience. so, it's a very good "girly night" scent. it inspires confidence and a sort of ass kicking feminine side I never knew I had.

I had very high hopes for this one, tea, honey, linen, crisp tablecloths.... the stuff of dreams (mine anyway!) in the bottle, it's gorgeous, but sadly on my skin it's invisible, I smell, maybe just the tiniest whisper of a scent... not enough though, it's a swap I'm afraid.

I like hurricane very much indeed. it's very cool, powdery and refreshing on me, almost like the moment that a storm breaks, the heat and humidity evaporate and you're left with this tingling freshness. I dont get the cucumber/celery/woody notes but more of a dark leathery/salty scent, maybe a little citrus too. it's good, very good and lasts ages... it's my "hot summer day" scent.
-
this is just so good! I've had a bottle for ages now, it's delicious I get fig and a dark bittersweet cocoa, then as it dries I get the cedar and maybe a little vanilla too. it stays gorgeous from the moment it's applied until it (finally) wears off... I often wear it to bed, I always have the most incredibly intense dreams when wearing it, why that should be I can't say but there we go.
-
wow, this is sweet, really sweet and fruity on me... I'm not sure this is what I think of when thinking of mist, something colder and less sticky perhaps? anyhow, it last an incredibly long time, I put a little on last night before bed, I did dishes, washed my face and hands, and still it's there.. and it's barely changed at all really, it is pear/plums and a sweet (floral?) scent. sadly not for me, too many sweet fruits, they dont seem to agree with me

I just recieved this yesterday, and as it was humid and threatening to thunder I just had to try it! ok, I'm not that keen on mint, but had high hopes. it's gorgeous! I dont get strong mint from it , who knows why, but it is there hopping around in the background. mainly I get a brown sugar/honey scent, a bit boozy... and a little like some of the voodoo blends, some kind of grassy/herb note what I love is that it's a nice non girly scent, I could definately wear this on my more tomboy days.

ooh,... I concur, it is sex in a bottle. I love amber blends, love them. this is so long lasting too which makes me very happy indeed! I'm not getting any apple, but I dont care! the carnation definately peels out though, in a good way. 10ml ahoy!

I adore Whip, the imagery aint too bad either ok, it's mainly rose on me, but with a darker edge, not in the same way that black rose is dark, I guess it's the leather though I cant really smell Leather on it's own. yummy though, who new I actually do like rose scents

I love the idea of a hag scent, love it. black annis, I bought a big bottle unsniffed, just had to really! I'm not mad keen on liquorice/anise scents, I'm on a soluble medication that tastes of aniseed and is quite gagworthy. still, I've tried it and now worn it on many occasions. it smells very dark, mossy and earthy, happily I only get a very faint anise note from it, that makes me very happy indeed! it reminds me of going hiking with my school, we got half way up ben nevis, stopped for a rest and a drink.. we drank from a stream, it tasted of peat. as we were standing around the mist rolled in, the atmosphere changed to being rather creepy... it was very dank, could smell the people around me, the moss underfoot and the peat from the bog. it sounds wierd, but I like it very much.

Aunt Caroline's Money Draw

ok.. as I'm currently fundraising to take mike away to see the dolphins, I included an imp of this on my apothecary's cat order. tried it a few days ago... scent review. orange, holy oranges! and cinnamon, and wow... I love the scent, I would love something like this that was just a straight perfume oil, I feel though that the tal oils have a little more, charge? intent? I may not be getting the words exactly, but I feel they are not just for slapping on any old time. results? well, I wore it with intent, after meditating/sitting and thinking very hard/visualising a succesful day I put some on, only a little. started phoning around for donations, lush donated a massive chunk, massive I say, of noriko soap as well as their enormous spring fever gift box also got some more positive leads for my jam/cake order sheet, possible new customer alert! and I found £1 that I'd lost in the car all in all, as soon as I can I'll be ordering a big bottle. -
ok.. this is the polar opposite of scents I usually enjoy, snake oil, black phoenix, eclipse, O, etc.. I like heady, hot, big smells.. but hey, it's hot this morning, reach into my cupboard and decide to give it a go. first impression, woah! it's ck1, but so much better, more complex, less samey/alchohol burney. on, it's lemony, herbal and has some ozone, but, but I hate ozone scents driving along the road in my van, I'm sniffing and thinking, eventually it comes to me. this smells like a beach I go to, it's got a big open grass area, salt meadow I suppose, some herbs and flowers, to get to it you walk down a forest path, then as you top the dunes there is a massive crescent bay, wide open and the sea rolling in. this is a keeper, I could see it becoming a summer standby. strangely it smells a little like jolly roger on me, the same slightly salty note I think

tombstone!! and roadhouse, in fact I think roadhouse could be the butch scent, beery, a bit dirty oh yes, definately... (lol, it's my pick anyway and seems to have the desired result )

for wet, cold, blustery days I'm most drawn to warm, spicey, honeyed scents. It's kind of like applying a comfort blanket in a bottle, the colder, foggier and damper the day the better that kind of scent clings to me, it's lovely, like making a cup of bengal spiced tea and getting the warm spicey steam.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
binkyboots replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
black rose is fabulous I adore it, and that's coming from a hardened tomboy, lol. it doesn't go grannyish at all, just stays this deep rose scent, also has the lovely fringe benefit of clinging to whatever clothes I have on, my denim jacket is now a perfumed jacket of loveliness. -
argh, lol, I'm useless at figuring out notes, lolita lempicka is my sister's favorite "I'm a happy and confident woman" scent, so I'm looking for something with similar notes to give her a gentle introduction to bpal oils, I know she'll love them but she's quite suspicious of new things... any ideas or recomendations? *sigh* I'm so sorry, I thought I was posting in recomendations

I love vetiver so was expecting to rather like sloth... on applying it, sharp for a minute then softened off and yep, I love it, vetiver, woodsy and dark, yum. the staying power is incredible, I put it on last night at 11:30ish before bed (after my shower but before bed is the default time for trying new scents for me, lol) but this morning it's still very strong on me, though it's morphed, it smells very strongly of rose, how odd, but good because the vetiver is still hanging around in the back there stopoping it being a flower fest. definately a big bottle.

hecate is delicious, as well as queen of sheba, carnivalle and intrigue... -
this had a very odd effect on me, it made me suddenly feel very angry/sad, it threw my mood out for the whole day (I swear, it must have been the oil, I was pretty chirpy...) obviously I didn't like it, at all which really surprised me, it was just too much, too sharp and the terrible emotional feeling it brought up just maybe me run with it to the swap pile.... I wonder what it was, I guess something in it is tied to a memory... sorry, ot.

I love, need, want, adore, etc this one! *puts head in hands and sobs* thanks to a generous forum member I've had the chance to try it... wow, just wonderfull. it's how autumn scented candles would be if their makers had the taste, skill and sensitivity that beth does it's all apples and cherries when I put it on, then after a few minutes it changed slightly, became deeper, hotter, I guess that'll be the cinnamon? it lasted really well, mophing a little to become softer as the day went on. I'll be saving the rest of my imp for a special occasion!
