i have had this forever, and never tested or reviewed it. *facepalm* this is why i prefer bottles--i lose track of imps. anyway, this is a true, sweet honeydew when applied. amazing, really. almost mouthwatering, if you're a melon fan. as it dries, vanilla starts to peep out, though i haven't detected any of the carnation i've fallen so in love with recently. fresh, sweet and green, mellowing into a gorgeous all around blend. nice.

just repeating what i see everywhere else--this was a very nice vanilla while wet, but dried down into a powdery floral. sweet and girlish, but unremarkable for me. it smells very SPRING though, i might try this at another time.

i feel i'm detecting the same bamboo note that lurks in fire pig--but this is drowned out the shocking green, herbally smells i get from everything else. far too much of something that smells like lemon, too tart for me.

i was talking with a friend on yahoo when i dabbed this on, and my words to her were omg, it's awful! like burnt, boozy potpourri. terrible on my skin, i don't know what it is making it smell so off but this just isn't my style.

as a libra, i'm entitled to be upset that my own astrological blend (AND my celestial blend, venus) didn't work for me. that said, this is entirely too white and green for my tastes--white musk and rose aren't up on my favourites list. i think it's the ylang ylang that spices this up, i can SMELL the warmness cutting through the brightness of it, but in the end it's just not enough to make this something i would wear regularly. *sniff*

wow, this is STRONG for something that reads so very feminine in the scent notes. a very tiny dab and i immediately got shocking lillies, with melon undernote. i get a hint of rose and violet too in the drydown...this is very nice. it makes me think of summer

pure vanilla, without the cloying sweetness of false blends. i immediately hit on this as being the sacred vanilla in my beloved snake oil. stunning.

another single note that evokes a lush parallel for me (can you tell i've jumped on the Lush bandwagon lately?!)...this is Potion in all it's glory but stronger, and spicier as only a pure form of carnation could be. i doubt i could say anything that hasn't already been said, yet another brilliant single note.

this brings to mind the goodness of Lush Snowcake for me--my favourite Lush soap by far! i buy pots of Smitten hand cream to get my snowcake fix each day, and sweet almond SN is like that, amplified. it is sweet and heady almond, with lots of throw for such an innocent sounding blend. fantastic.

CT DCLI, decanted by melanna aug 05 this was VERY BERRY at first, but the drydown is quite resiny. i think there may even be some vanilla dashed in there, it's hard to tell. the morphing power from the chaos theories will never cease to amaze me. not sure if i'll hang onto this one, but it was definitely worth trying Last reviewed by cranberry.

i got two very old chaos theories frimped to me today, and i was so pleased that they both were on the sweet side. someone cared to check my favourite types of scents! so, XX decanted by allamanda, oct 04. this is a bit OVER sweet at first if there can be such a thing. but it does quickly die down into something more tolerable, a bit more green. i can't detect any single notes, especially since i have a berry CT blend on my other hand and it's about all i can smell. but i do like this one as it morphs, will have to give it another try on its own. samhain 2004 i was excited to try this since i love mostly older blends, but phew...it smells like sweet pipe tobacco. not at all pleasant for me in a body scent. i'm so overpowered by that icky smell that i can't pick out any other notes.

white musk, jasmine and rose x100 i'm sure this is lovely for other people, but it's just awful on me.

woody and green? so not me. but i was so taken with the scent from the imp, i had to dab on a bit, and i'm surprised by how much i'm loving the strangler fig. it's soft and creamy, a really gorgeous figgy delight. it's great even on me, can't wait to try it on the boyfriend.

i am discovering a love for lots of red musk blends lately, and this one is no different considering how much i like good strawberry and even cherry scents on occasion. the white musk and grapefruit, which would usually steer me clear, only round out this scent. very nice, fresh and fruity.

yum, heliotrope and orange peel when wet, morphing into a fruity blend with cherries on top. the dragon's blood and amber warm this up really nicely...why oh why are the good ones never re-released! yummy spicy kool-aid.

a rare rose that doesn't go old lady powder on my skin--and a leather that i can tolerate! this is pleasant enough even for a dreaded floral...but i think i'll stick to rose red.

i like this, surprisingly. i don't know how often i will reach for it because i'm not too keen on the eucalyptus wet phase...but i have realized lately that i love violet, and so i do love the drydown when the violet starts peeping out. pleasant and uplifting. i might keep this one around just to sniff.

i get soft rose and lots of something herbally, like mint or eucalyptus. i'm a libra and was hoping to *love* this scent, but unfortunately it's just too floral and green for my taste.

an extremely strong twin to vicks vapo-rub or bengay. this one even burns my skin, and that hardly EVER happens to me, even with ginger and cinnamon bpal blends. eek!

mmm...clove and red musk. i have started to realize that if the imp is red or brown, most of the time i will *love* it. this is right up my alley, reminds me of the boozy, heady scent of formula 54. i'm glad i at least got a decant of this, i only wish i'd gotten it in my inquisition pleas.

i got a *lot* of apple and almond out of this at first, making me very excited. then my skin picked up on the rose note and has decided to amp it beyond belief, almost drowning out everything else. i can still detect the spiciness of the myrrh, but no sign of my beloved honey. jury is still out on this one. i want to love it, but the rose is standing in the way!

this is a great scent for a new year--bubbly and bright. i get a lot of very sweet mandarin and a splash of peach...i wish there was a bit more dragon's blood, i think the spice would be fantastic. still, i'm happy as it is, and i'm sure this will be a winner as far as my boyfriend is concerned. fresh fruit, not the overripe type that you get out of some blends. i am a bit wary though, as this threatens to go soapy as time wears on.

with all the similarities between snake oil and mme. moriarty, i was expecting to be blown away by this blend. i remember trying some early on in my bpal collecting, but i couldn't have been too impressed because i swapped my imp. still, after trying so many scents i thought i'd give this one another go and i have to say, the madame still doesn't hold a candle to snake oil or snake charmer for me. this one is just a *shade* too earthy for my liking. that said, given the right time, i could see myself trying it for a sexy boost, it's quite sultry and bewitching, just not something i could see myself buying a bottle of.

i guess there simply isn't enough snake oil in this snake oil variant for me. i can only guess that it's the neroli making this smell so...GREEN. i don't get any vanilla or spice at all...just berry and a bit of amber. will see what a bit of age can do, otherwise it's off to swaps for this snake.
