anise and spices...i usually hate licorice but this isn't too bad once the in your face anise smell dies down a bit. definitely going to give it another go, just to be sure.

this scent reminds me of a whole lot of OTHER bpal scents! very much wispy and floral, like snow white, but exchanging the playdoh of snow white for the powder i got with la fee verte. this also smells old, and reminds me a bit of antique lace. none of those are scents i wear regularly, so this will probably be swapped.

this one starts out so beautifully, a very interesting blend. but it goes soapy after a while on my skin; such a disappointment! i want to try it again just to be sure

i got that blast of cherry smelling almond on first applying, and thought i'd be reliving my queen of sheba nightmare. but bastet dries very nicely, if a little close to the skin; i don't think this has much throw at all. it reminds me very much of buck moon actually. pleasant. not sure if i'll be hunting down a bottle but i'll keep this one to try again.

it's green! and it smells like vicks vaporub!

huh. surprisingly, i liked this one even though i usually run from anything with 'masculine' in the description. it's very lime, but in a good way to my nose and blended well. not too sure about the jack the ripper connotations, but i could definitely see this as a sort of Victorian blend. i may try this one on the boy.

Kitsune-Tsuki are malevolent Japanese spirits, akin to western werebeasts: women are possessed by the spirits of foxes, who compel them to perform acts of wickedness and mischief. Asian plum, orchid, daffodil, jasmine and white musk. this is so fruity, that it almost masks the imminent floral notes for me. very bright and cheery, this makes me happy and i'm not quite sure why. definitely worth another test to see if i would wear this regularly.

from the description i was expecting to LOVE queen of sheba...honey AND almond, plus spice! so up my alley. the smell from the imp was heavenly, first dab on my wrist divine. unfortunately, the excitement i felt upon applying (quick! bottle purchase!) was quickly squashed as the queen dried down to a dry, nutty smell. it's now faded to almost nothing. and i thought i'd found another general catalogue love...curses!

cedar, cedar, cedar...maybe even sage? i had to wash this one off, it wasn't what i was expecting at all.
-
roses and violets, sweetened by pear. i like this a LOT more than i thought i would. it's gentle, but also seems to have some throw. a surprising hit.
-
this one gives me a slight headache. far too much lavender for my tastes, just doesn't agree with me.
-
juniper? citrus? pine? pepper?! there's a lot in this, and i don't think i like any of it.
-
soggy roses and sweet jasmine---a warm jasmine, and not unpleasant for once. unfortunately, this has that old lady bath salt smell that i can't stand. thanks to edenssixthday for the chance to try it though <3

on first sniff, i was pleasantly surprised! i definitely gave a little 'oooh!' of delight after being skeptical. i can see where the furniture polish comments come in (as they do with lots of lemon notes) but shadow is almost a sparkling lemon at first, the patchouli only peeks out in the drydown. i'm not sure that i would wear this really, but it's nice enough.

i am waffling between thinking bruja is gorgeous, or awful. for some reason i keep getting a strong FUNK note from this, it smells plain musty. but on another sniff, it will smell delicate and spicy. definitely weird. i've not made my mind up on this one.
-
spicy baby powder.
-
i'm agreeing with sam on this one--artificial raspberry, definitely. it fades quickly too, definitely my least favourite of the single notes i've tried so far.
-
fir and smoke...the smell of fire and trees. interesting, i'm not sure how i feel about this one yet. may try it on the boy
-
my nose is so overwhelmed with dirt/earth i can't smell anything else! while i can appreciate this sort of scent, it's not my personal preference. such a disappointment!
-
wow! this one is so potent, fiery fresh ginger. definitely recognizable, especially in uber ginger scents like Aries.
-
definitely recognizable from some bpal rose blends, this also has a bit of a soapy undernote.
-
dry, and dusty. like closing your eyes in a clearing of trees and taking a deep breath.
-
gorgeous! juicy and sweet, ripe pear. so pure you can almost taste it!
-
this was a quick morpher--plasticky fruits, to softly sugared berries, to 'where did i dab bloody mary again?' once you get over the icky beginning and start enjoying the scent, it's already on the fade. will have to try this one again, with a bit more slathering. there should definitely be more bpal cherry scents :nods sagely:

not a whole lot i can say about such a simple scent so i'll keep it short-- not nearly as good as spooky or snowblind, for perfect mint scents...but not as in your face mint stick as lick it. will put this one down to age and see what happens.
