ooh! this is heady and sweet and beautiful...like burying your nose in a bunch of tropical flowers. i'm really surprised by how much i like this. agreeing totally with slave1's review: there is something milky and coconutty about this blend. it smells delicious!

getitoffgetitoffgetitoffgetitoffgetitoffgetitoffomg this smells like funk, i can't put it any other way. whoa, SO STRONG. very earthy.
-
big red gum, with a green undernote? i'm a huge cinnamon lover, so i am really wanting to like this, but something is throwing me off. must re-test!

loads of cranberry with a shot of ginger. this is one of those scents that gets caught in your throat--you almost can't smell anything else. very very strong, and tart. not something i'd want as a perfume, but i agree with people who may be using it as a room scent.
-
almost booze-like in intensity, this is a decadent and strong blend. loads of throw, but the fruit is so powerful it almost smells rotten.
-
this is lovely! like catching a whiff of bananas in the tropical breeze, sitting in the shade. i might have to find more manila

i picked up on the cardamom immediately--this is a close to the skin, dusty spiced smell. quite nice, and not overpoweringly floral.
-
i swear this has the milk note in it that smells a bit sour...i want to like it but i just can't. it must be the hazelnut ruining this for me, i'm usually a fan of coconut.

i think the spiciness of the dragon's blood tricks my nose into enjoying the lily in this one...i wasn't sure i would like it at all. still, i muchly prefer wrath and dragon's milk for my dragon's blood fix.

i knew this wouldn't work on me, but i had to try it. it's VERY floral, and very bright. lots of bergamot, and lily which i'm not a big fan of. swaps.
-
very strong and fruity, almost fermented. something dark in this, must be the copal. lots of throw, a heady scent. may re-test.
-
just as the name implies, this is dark and murky. smoke so thick it's almost ash. interesting, but not a skin scent for me.

migo reminded me strangely of Poisoned Apple...sweet, but with something lingering underneath that was a bit slithery. sadly this one wasn't for me, it's a bit of fruit overload but doesn't seem to work together.

Bewitching, tantalizing and dangerously seductive. A thrilling, exotic blend -- deceptively sweet, but spiked with malice. White ginger, jasmine, and a touch of vanilla and apricot. wow, i smell like a take-out joint. this is very very gingery, with loads of jasmine. overpoweringly strong, and not very pleasant. swap!

after all the fuss, i truly was expecting the crumpet rebellion to be sex in a bottle. for those who were wondering, it is indeed just oil. this starts out very strong, an exact dupe of freshly baked jam filled pastry. it's all in there--sticky sweet berries and warm flaky crust, almost mouth wateringly so. the throw fades as this scent dries, but if you press your nose against your skin you can still catch a tantalizing whiff. i'm sure that this will be one of those 'mmm what are you wearing?' scents from my boyfriend. CR is very much like knave of hearts to me, a bit more foody perhaps. the berry in it has that plasticky undernote that ruins a lot of things for me, but all in all it's a decent scent.

oh, this is gorgeous! violet without smelling bath salt-y, sweetened by vanilla and a hint of gardenia. i'm loving this very much

at last! a new GC to get excited about i've been looking for a bottle-worthy general catalogue blend, and i don't know why this one has passed me by. it's marzipan-y *and* cinnamon-y, two of my definite favourite notes. the smell of this on my skin simply makes me smile. must. have. more!
-
musk and florals, with a trace of sweet lurking in the background. i don't get 'foody' from this at all, it's mostly musk on my skin.

what i got is a very aged imp of greed, that i believe was decanted from a corked imp into a plastic wand vial. i could smell the empty original vial when i opened the baggie it was in, the scent was that strong. greed is even stronger on the skin, almost instantly headache inducing patchouli. i smell the oakmoss, and amazingly as it dries, the sweetness of the heliotrope is peeking out. this is very masculine, and very earthy. not for me, but i'm amazed at the quality of blending.
-
the lion instantly reminded me of morocco, and the let down i had from that scent. i got what is apparently a very aged testable of this, and with these spicy blends my nose seems to be expecting something...more. the lion is exactly as described, a spicy amber that maybe could benefit from a bit of layering to really bring out the blend. as it dries though, it is going very powdery. the throw is fairly impressive too, but i hate smelling like a nappie.
-
a definite morpher here...so excited by the grapefruit, vanillas, and the wafts of gentle jasmine that kicked off this blend. it was sweet, fluffy, and gorgeous. ah, skin chemistry. now it's all jasmine and i can't smell anything else!

i got a new bottle of experimental blend from the lovely blackrayne and it's fricken amazing. i was intrigued when she described it as rum soaked cinnamon, but on my skin the fiery cinnamon gives way to a sweet anise. i KNOW the cinnamon is there cause my wrists are tingling, but the anise has come out and it's not at all unpleasant. wow. good stuff, i can't wait to try some more! ETA: i got two new experimental blends today in the mail. one is an amber lovers dream; very resinous. the oil is a deep reddish orange. this snake oil variant reminds me a lot of mme. moriarty. in some ways. my other EB was labelled 'lemon snake oil' and is similar in colour but perhaps a bit more on the brown side. i was expecting that oh so familiar furniture polish lemon bpal scent, and was pleasantly surprised to get something altogether more smooth, along the vein of snow angel. a sweet breath of lemon nestled into a creamy snake oil. beautiful! edit 2: today i received an experimental blend bottle from the lovely the_witching_hour...and i fully admit i was questioning whether this would work for me since i agreed to the swap! violet and snake oil simply doesn't sound like it would work, but it's surprisingly nice. also, i had stripped off for a nap midday, and later on when i woke up i grabbed my shirt, making a mental note that it smelled amazing. it was only after awhile that i realized the violetty experimental blend was still clinging to the material hours later! edit 3: i received this bottle from blaqpearl, it leaked in transit and the smell of the oil permeated the whole package. this blend is strong, thick and syrupy. it's the first experimental blend i've ever seen in an amber bottle too. the snake oil scent is definitely there, but sweetened with something i simply can't identify, especially in the drydown. blaqpearl described it to me as reminiscent of chaste moon, and i may try the two together but i don't think the notes are at all similar. i may have to call in some help with this one.

sniffing this made me feel like i had just swallowed a bunch of soap. i'm blaming the sweet pea in the blend--i have the single note sweet pea and i know it goes soapy on me. blended with other notes that may also have soapy undertones this is a nightmare. getitoff getifofffffff

very salty, almost like a spray of sea air. there's a definite herbal undernote...i don't know that this reminds me of human tears. it's very much like the heaviness of air before a cathartic rain.

definitely soapy and...mossy. i don't know that i knew what moss smelled like before i tried this. but hey, now i know!
