    Dana O'Shee

I have worn this randomly when out, when I needed something to throw on and couldn't pick something. However, I can't remember anything about it - so I am going to sit down and properly review it. In the bottle: This is actually surprisingly strong. I get a strong note of honey - sweet and almost acrid with just a bit of almond scent hinting around it. Definitely very sweet! More excited to try this on, though. On wet: This reminds me of something but I can't place what. The honey and grains are still very strong here and mainly the notes I get. Like delicious, warm oatmeal in the morning with a lot of honey in it. I have managed to remember what it reminds me of. During the winter I always boil milk and honey for drinking. This is almost exactly this smell, only as if I had thrown extract of almond in there with it. This would be the resulting smell. It is very sweet, warm and inviting. Dry down: This warms up on dry down and the milk notes begin to come out, taking away the acrid heavy smell of the honey. It starts to blend beautifully and this is one of the first scents that properly moves on me. Even as I sit here, I can smell it. This is the perfect scent to pass somebody by with. It is sweet and alluring, its like walking into the kitchen on a spring morning. It fits its name very perfectly - as this highly invokes images of offerings to the Dana O'Shee, not quite what I can see the Lovely Folk invoking scent wise, but this does cover the offerings to them quite nicely. Final Thoughts: This isn't the sort of scent I would probably wear out. It is more suited for warm nights in, cuddling with your significant other. In fact, more than anything it makes me want to cuddle with boys and eat sweet, delicious comforting foods. This is a lovely scent, I probably will not wear it often but I will keep it for those special occasions. This is a GREAT autumn scent and I will definitely use it once it comes around again. :') It definitely invokes the image of sweet, fall foods being cooked on cool crisp days. Yummy! Edited to say: I like the throw and lasting on this. I tend to gravitate towards very faint, soft scents. So a lot of them have barely any throw at all. There are scents out there with stronger throw and staying power - but this is quite nice. Putting it on, I can smell it around me comfortably. This is almost like wearing antique lace but with more throw. I imagine the lasting time would be longer as well.

I love this scent so very much. Like so many other have said - I know this scent. It is so nostalgic and almost annoying because I cant place where it comes from. You just know that you have come across this before. It definitely evokes a feeling of having smelled it before. In the Imp: This is a fairly strong floral. I can't really say what flowers it reminds me of, but its very deep and almost a bitter floral. I don't get powdery at all. This is a scent that I could see having the ability to be "old lady" like - but it seems to avoid that quite nicely. Its strong, bitter, sweet and wet. This is a powerful scent and I just love it. On wet: Love love love love. I can't stop saying how much I adore this scent. I received this as an extra with another order in the past and didn't know how I would feel about it, however, it can possibly find a place in the top with my favorite scents. It is very simple and yet very deep. A bittersweet floral. It comes across as a bit "cold" when wet. I could definitely see this as being the flower that would greet you to the underworld. It's a bit sad and dangerous, but ever so enticingly sweet. I like this because it smells like perfume without coming across as too strong or choking. It's like the perfume you wish you could smell when you walk into the department store. I also like that this could border on feminine/masculine. Its hard to really find a line with it. Dry-down: The stronger bitterness of this starts to fade, it threatens becoming soapy but not in a bad way. In fact, on drying this starts to get rid of any soapiness and replaces everything with the softest, most gentle hint of flowers. This is like hopping through a garden of flowers in the summertime. This inspires me as a very vintage scent. Perfect for late spring or early summer. I am so sad that this scent has been discontinued, as I was hoping to buy a larger bottle of this. :') I will definitely be on the hunt for a 5 or 10ml of this. A beautiful, strong floral. It definitely makes a statement.

I shockingly really enjoy this scent, though I tend to use it when I am at a loss for other things to wear and just want something unique. Or when I need something to keep me in a calm mood. In the imp: I can smell the "root-beer" smell that others have described. Along with that cool, minty smell of something almost medicine like. However, this scent is really calming to me. It is very minty and reminds me of burning certain incense scents. It is cool with an undertone of sweetness. On wet: Very very very cool! This actually tickles my nose when I smell it because that minty scent is so strong. I can capture just a hint of cedar, however it is very faint. This is really like walking the steps on an icy moutain, hit by the scent of something holy. Incense and sweetness. It is cold and enticing. The throw is moderate and the scent lasts for the span of only a short evening. Dry-down: This is still very sweet on me. It is a sweet floral and the saffron finally starts to shine through. The wet, cool note in this doesn't seem to leave me. This is the note that others described as "vics" or medicinal. However, this scent blends beautifully with the undertone of warm, delicious floral. This just ends up smelling like sugared, woodsy mint on me and I love it. The lotus also really begins to take note here. I actually really love this scent just for its uniqueness on me. I usually wear it when I need something a little different than the usual. A very nice scent for winter.

    Brimstone

Brimstone This is just pure, heady strength. It blasts you as soon as you bring the imp towards you. Sadly, this is so strong that it took my courage building up to an insane level before I would put it on, afraid that it wouldn't end well at all! In the Imp: This is sour and strong and burning and dangerous! If I smelled this going somewhere, I would be terrified. This is the burning of horror. I personally can't stand the smell from the imp and this is why it took me so long to try it. It has a strong smell of burning, but that awful sour burning. Mixed with an undercurrent of sickening sweet. On wet: Still really wasn't fond of it. The sweet notes were coming out even more heady and I had to keep myself from feeling sick and dizzy from the bitter-sweet undertones of this perfume. It almost reminds me of the sweet hints in Virgo 2007 - just much much stronger without smelling earthy. Is someone burning velvet here?! I could barely even pick out any notes it was so strong and overpowering. Drydown: Shockingly, I am finally warming up to this. I was thinking I would never be able to walk near this imp again! However, on the dry down the bitter sweetness is starting to fade away to something more smoky, like I was hoping I would get. I can smell the pine and the cedar and it finally smells like a dark, dangerous burning pile in the forest on a scary night. And I think I could possibly come to love this scent. I was hoping I would get the scent of smoke from this and I can finally smell it. Final thoughts: I am very torn on this, as I love the smoky scent - and it definitely invokes a certain image of the forest. I lived in the south most my young life and it smells like the scent of burning pine trees in the summer, a pine that may have been struck by lightning! However, there is still the slight undercurrent of bitter sweetness and the first part of this perfume being on me is so strong, that I think I may give this to a better home and find something else with the forest/smoke smell - that isn't so strong. :') I think this would be lovely on people that bring out the smoky smell, however.

    Belle Époque

In the Imp: This is warm and heady. All Lily and sandalwood, its almost intoxicating and I can catch the hint of opium. I don't get much vanilla or mandarin - no touches of citrus yet. Just very warm, dreamy, almost suffocatingly sweet and warm scent. Delicious! On wet: This brings out the citrus like crazy! Its all citrus and sandalwood and maybe a bit of lily. It almost goes on a bit sour because of the citrus paired with the sandalwood. Citrus is usually wonderful on me - but not so much this time, thus far. Dry down: The citrus is slowly is starting to fade on me, but the scent left behind really doesn't work so far. It may be the red sandalwood that isn't working with my chemistry. I still cant detect any vanilla. Its just sandalwood and lily, but not in a good way. Dry: This improves a lot once it warms up and dries down. I can finally smell a bit of the vanilla and more of the opium. A really lovely, heady scent. My family thought it smelled a bit like incense, which was probably just the sandalwood. Now its very soft. It's really quite feminine and alluring. All mandarin and vanilla and lily. Wonderful. This is fairly long lasting. It's been a bit over an hour and it still hasn't faded away. I can really trace the vanilla and opium and lilies. This dries down to be a really nice scent on me. I just wish it wasn't so awful in the beginning! This isn't one of my favorites. I was scared at first I would have to get rid of it, I really wanted to like it based on is description and what I smelled in the bottle. I may need to try this again in order to decide if I LOVE it. I definitely reccomend it to those whose chemistry really works with it, however. I'll probably just keep this as an imp and use it when I need a little change.

    Antique Lace

I first just want to mention that this is one of my favorite scents in my collection and one I use fairly often. Especially when I am having a particularly feminine, demure or elegant day and need something to compliment that feeling. It's also a scent I use on my sheets when I need to be relaxed or comforted, as it really calms the senses for me. In the bottle this scent is sweet and musky for me. Like mentioned it is a very strong vanilla but one I take to so nicely. Its sweet and lovely and doesn't at all scream cheap dollar-store vanilla to me. It has this hint of muskyness or even spiceyness in the bottle. On wet this isn't quite as sweet and I can smell the aged-linen and florals a bit more. It says white curtains in a breeze or the fabric of a womans dress in older-times as she walks past. Absolutely lovely. This goes on fairly faint when wet but strengthens on dry down. The vanilla and florals mix here for a heady and nostalgic scent. I agree that this is like visting old memories. A stunning scent that lasts for a decent amount of time. Just beautiful.

    Virgo 2007

Another Virgo here to review Virgo '07! In the bottle: It's earthy and green to me. Like lying in the grass and reading a book or like others have mentioned, being in the garden. It smells of earth on the hands and freshly pulled green plants. The sweetness is so very very very subtle in the bottle to me. I only catch even the slightest of honeysuckle and carrot seed. This seems so cool and yet deep and earthy all at once. Lots of herbal notes here. Wet on the skin: This goes on so faint with my skin. It took quite a bit to smell it. It seems to be really soft and still predominantly earthy for me, which I love. It's still green but it feels like the fern has calmed down a lot here. The herbal attack is a little less and the flowery notes of the honeysuckle begin to come out - ever so slightly. Its becoming slightly powdery but luckily not too much, so that it really just smells like you are in passing of a lush green garden. This softens and sweetens ever so slightly the longer it stays on. Its moist and the myrtle and carrot seed and honeysuckle come out. Its really quite delicious and oddly enough has a very green summery smell - where I was expecting something fitted to autumn but on the contrary this scent is alive! Oh - sadly this died on me. After about 10 minutes it all dissapeared into a powdery scent with a hint of honeysuckle. =( Such a dissapointment as I quite enjoyed this scent. Either way I think its beautiful for anyones chemistry that works with it. Definitely very "Virgo"!

    Moon Rose

I love this. In the bottle: this is pure rose. I don't get that fake smell that sometimes comes with rose scents but the real heady scent of roses kissed in morning dew. We have a rose bush that blooms when its freezing cold outside and this is what it reminds me of. The little pink buds touched in ice and dew, so fresh and cold and lovely. On wet: this isn't quite so heady and strong but very much the smell of roses in the morning for me. It also takes on a little bit of a soap smell. Dry on my skin this amazing, at first all I got was roses, roses, roses. However it amazing how layered this scent is despite its few ingredients. It transcends to being something completely different in a matter of moments. It went from being a really strong rose to a soft floral. As mentioned its almost ghost or mist like. You really get the feeling this is almost ethereal. It went from fresh, strong roses in the morning to roses bathing in the moonlight. It dries down so gentle and alluring for me. I am completely in love with this scent. I didn't think it would be possible to literally "smell" the transluency around this, however, it eventually changed and now it blends perfectly with the rose. I think of walking through a rose garden after a light spring rain. I really think I will have to order a bigger vial of this. Its scent is light on me and so I will need an excuse to be able to use more! This is so beautiful and fresh.

    Tiger Lily

Oh, this is warm and delicious and heavy in the bottle. I love it. It is such a delightful floral. Even though it is the middle of winter here, It makes me feel so warm. It is like the sun in a bottle. Very much lilies here, with just a hint of honey. Putting it on, it starts out as such a soft floral scent. It really is heavenly. It is fiesty but at the same time so relaxing and heady. I think the honey is downplayed and I am really mainly getting the lilies, I cant complain however because it is wonderful. I agree that this scent is pretty strong. Its not chokingly strong on me, but it has good throw. Unlike some lighter scents that I have to fight with to get them to do anything. After awhile on my skin the honey really comes out with this and mixes with the fresh smell of the lilies. This is such a warm and inviting scent, I really enjoy it.

    Lolita

I was quite excited about this scent. I love citrus and honeysuckle, as they are some of the scents that I remember fondly from being younger. I am completely weak for honeysuckle and orange blossom, having lived in Florida most my life. From the bottle: Lots of citrus. An extreme amount of lemon! Like lemon candies and flowers. I really get the "sharp" side of lolita here. The dangerous side of innocence. I can catch the slight hint of the orange blossom and just a little tiny bit of honeysuckle, but the lemon seems to be predominant. Wet: Still very lemony but it sweetens up and this makes me happy. It becomes a bit more candy like and the orange blossom starts to flourish more. However this gives it something of a bitter smell that I am not sure if I enjoy. I'm not getting much floral or honeysuckle which makes me sad. I love that this scent is strong on me. Most scents tend to fade quite quickly on me, however this one is surrounding me. Its sweet and light and delicious. Everything I would expect lolita to be. I am starting to smell the honeysuckle come into play with its sweetness from the heat of my skin and it is becoming all sweet and lovely and soft. Very feminine. Perfect for bright, warm days. On my skin directly, I cant say I really enjoy the smell as much. It is all lemony and burnt and sour like lemon pledge. However it lifts around me and surrounds with an aroma where the flowers are finally blending in and taking over the citrus and giving it a very soft, sweet, honeysuckle smell. Heaven. I think this will be perfect for those bright, happy days. Or the ones that I am decked out in lolita style.

    White Rabbit

From the bottle: Very spicy! The ginger and pepper are coming out very strong for me. It has a definite bite, with just the faintest hint of tea and honey in the background. However, the ginger is very predominant. Vanilla somewhat comes and goes. Ends up having sort of a floral-ish scent on second smell. wet: Still so spicy. The ginger is very strong on me. It just went all sour and weird on me. Drydown: It started out still spicy. Though the pepper was more at the forefront. Sort of a heavy smell. However, the tea started to show up a bit. If I catch it at certain times it smells like citrus tea! I love it. For some reason the tea and honey have flourished on my skin in certain places. It is such a delight and very 'White Rabbit'. More than anything, it makes me want a cup of tea. After awhile, the milk is finally starting to show itself, I think I am starting to love it. Innitatially I thought it was not going to work at all. It was very full of pepper and just not right. Now it is settling down very creamy with that crisp hint of linen and tea and the vanilla is showing itself! I couldnt catch it at first, but now there is a hint of it. Just right! May not wear this one as much as the others I enjoy more. May eventually invest in a bigger vial. But, not anything I will be obcessed over I dont think.

    Alice

In the Bottle: My first impression was sort of spicy, and then sort of sweet. I can definitely smell the milk and honey, as well as carnation that adds that spiceyness. Very Alice, sort of precocious and thoughtful. Innocent, but not completely so. It reminds me of a know-it-all little girl. Sadly, am not getting very much rose. On wet: All milk and honey and sweet. Very sweet and creamy, though at first my skin seemed to take it all in and I couldnt smell it at all! Drydown: I could start to smell it finally. Became quite powdery... all creamy with that floral hint of roses and carnation. I was really loving it at this point. It wasnt too sweet, just right. It almost reminded me of my great grandmothers face powder that I used to steal from her as a little girl but mixed in with that touch of honey to make it just right! Dry: It is all very sweet now. The honey is extremely predominant and gives it a very yummy smell. The rose helps calm it down, and I can hint the carnation. It seems now the longer it sits, the sweeter it is becoming and that creamy milk smell is sort of a backdrop. It reminds me of a little girl in new pressed dress, sitting down to tea and cookies. Sort of clean and sweet all at once. If I smell it at certain times though, it does have that old lady floral smell. Which I hope will go away. Now, finally, I seem to just smell like hotel soap. I cant decide if this is bad or good. Final thoughts: Im torn! I really love this. It seems to skip between being something so completely perfect or otherwise smelling too old lady for me. However, I think I will keep it. It is so sweet and innocent, I cant help but adore it.
