This is by far one of the nastiest rares I have ever encountered. This smells like sour milk mashed with rotting walnuts. From wet to dry. GAH! MUST SCRUB OFF!!!!

EZEKIEL’S PHOENIX
Another living creature we saw,
full wondrous, such as man has never seen;
’twas near in scope to twice the eagle’s size,
with plumage iridescent, rainbow-hued.
Its breast appeared deep-dyed with purple’s shade,
its legs were red like ochre, and its neck
was furnished round with tresses saffron-hued;
like a coxcomb did its crest appear,
with amber-tinted eye it gazed about,
the pupil like some pomegranate seed.
Exceeding all, its voice pre-eminent;
of every wing’d thing, the king,
it did appear. For all the birds, as one,
in fear did haste to follow after him,
and he before, like some triumphant bull
went striding forth with rapid step apace.
- Ezekiel the Tragedian, the Exagoge
Its breast appeared deep-dyed with purple’s shade, its legs were red like ochre, and its neck was furnished round with tresses saffron-hued; like a coxcomb did its crest appear, with amber-tinted eye it gazed about, the pupil like some pomegranate seed: wild plum, North African saffron, frankincense, pomegranate, limonite accord, and golden amber.
I don't know what God or Goddess Beth invoked to create this scent...but THANK YOU!!!This is a delicious amber, pomegranate and saffron scent. It is fruity...but not sweet. Slightly incensy, and the saffron is not overpowering. This I NEED!!!!!!

Sweet lemon cheesecake! I can smell the lemon zest and the sweetness of the cheesecake. I truly want to eat my arm...and so this must go to another home. I need a slice of cheesecake...but not this perfume. I hate to smell like food. But it is truly delicious!!!

Tacitus phoenix=pickles.
Frankincense and pickles to be exact. Not. a. fan.

This is lovely. Simple. Golden amber, vanilla, and oudh. It's just that simple. And it doesn't amp. It stays close to the skin!!!!
-
Oh my freaking God.
This is...perfection. Golden amber is the King of Resins on my skin: delightfully dry and rich and lovely. The aged labdanum is smooth as silk, lending some depth and complexity without any sharpness at all. The oude just rounds it all out beautifully. A symphony of scents. How fitting.
Multiple bottle worthy.
Save a small modification on the sharpness....this is how Gondola is on my skin. It's amazing. It's perfect...and it is causing a massive headache.
BOO!!!

Indigo musk, opoponax, champaca, guiac wood, Haitian vetiver, and lemon peel.
Wet: Vetiver and lemon peel! Sour lemon peel!!!!!
Dry: The vetiver smooths out with the indigo musk. The champaca makes it lightly sweet and the wood adds a nice effect to the whole scent. Overall....this is my favorite of the bunch and the most wearable. But only in small doses. Too much could cause a serious headache! -
Gorgeous apple. Not candy sweet...real apple like a Honeycrisp apple and dirt. Fresh graveyard/loam with a hint of moss. This stuff is amazing! So glad I bought a bottle.
-
Screeching white musk...and orange blossom. Sour orange blossom. So glad I got a chance to try this. This just dictates that I don't need more. EVER!
-
Wet: Ceylon cinnamon and worn brown leather.
Dry: Some funky creaky old worn brown leather and balsam.
No cinnamon to keep the balance. This has got to go to swaps.
Cause it must get off my skin and out of my house...NOW!!!
-
Seriously....what the hell was I thinking???
Green musk, ho wood, carrot seed...this should have worked!! What do I get? Expensive Lilly soap...without a drop of lily in the damn vial!
I smell like Lily soap! What in the hell was I thinking? So glad this is just a decant and not a full bottle..I would be kicking myself in the butt!
-
Wet: Blood musk and cacao!
Dry: The Patchouli kicks in strongly...but it is not the dirty hippie patch people love...this one is a smooth patchouli that slithers on the skin. The Egyptian amber comes in to calm the patchouli down warm everything up to this glorious Egyptian powdery gloriousness on my skin! I do enjoy this and I have been wearing it all day. So glad I got a bottle!
-
Piquant, tart, and strangely hypnotic.
THIS IS HEAVEN!!!!!Black cherry and pomegranate goodness!!!!! It's not too sweet and not to overpowering. It's like the soul of la traviata with cherry!
So glad I got a bottle of this!!
-
Light, ghostly...woody Patchouli! Clean pale musks..and some more woody patchouli! I know this review sounds lame...but that's what it does to my skin. It is such a pleasant scent. I can't wait to get a bottle.
-
This is dark. Thick darkness. The kind of darkness you feel in the summer time or in the fall when there is a thick fog on a dark night. Sweet...thick..but beautiful. I need a bottle of this. STAT!
-
I have no idea how Beth does this....but she captured the scent of a fleshy, fresh carved jack o'lantern with the scent of warm, candlewax, beeswax I think and with a tinge of smoke from the freshly lit wick of the candle. In one drop on my arm, Beth you have captured one of my favorite times of year with my Dad....carving the pumpkin and lighting it and putting it on the front porch. Thank you so much for this. These memories are more precious to me than you will ever know.
-
This has the fruits of Street Festival without the mustiness of the honey on my skin.
A Halloweenie Shunga scent. NEAT!!!
-
Wet: Dark chocolate. Nice...mellow dark chocolate.
Drydown: Chocolate covered cat nip. The overlord kitty would be pleased with this. I am however...am not!
Off to the sales/swaps.
-
The chypre is the culprit!
Wet, this is a glorious myrrh tinged pomegranate juice filled dream....and then the chypre comes in and turns it into a floral pomegranate.
Where did my myrrh go...and my glorious dark filled pomegranate? *sigh* Up to the sales this goes!
This is the one I was so excited about too.
-
Wet: Buttery Pumpkin with a blast of Morocco.
Dry: Sweet pumpkin with a hint of Morocco.
So delicious! This will age gloriously..so glad I picked up a bottle!
-
Wet: Strong lavender. Dry..the opium tar and lavender swirl together in this magnificent but light dance across my skin. This is a night time scent for the spring. I think I may order a partial and then another just for this purpose. This scent makes me think of the French fields of lavender in Provence, France.
-
This has one hell of a strong floral note when wet! It's white. Not gardenia, it's like a white ghost lily but my skin amps it to high heavens!!!! And just when you sniff your arm the third time anticipating something strong again...it goes POOF! And becomes this light, ghost like lily scent. Very sad. It reminds me of the lilies that were at the funeral home when my Dad passed. Not a fan...but I do adore the concept!
-
Wet: paper, ink, with a smoky note! Drydown: gorgeous brown leather with paper, a touch of ink and smoke! This is love...true love!
-
Citrus! The yuzu really comes through and remains strong on my skin. (wet)
(dry) The lime peaks through and the neroli, tonka tuberose really make the yuzu/lime combo...creamy. It's lovely and clean as a scent. Don't know if I need a bottle, but I am sad that I passed this up and glad that I made myself try it.
