Wet: I almost didn't try it. The coal dust choked me up a bit. Dry: coal covered leather chair. I get no other notes. No blood orange, no crimson musk....I am so glad I got a decant instead of a bottle. This is off to a new home!

This one worked on me! I amp the hell out of pine, but b/c it's my birthday moon I had to try it! The pine is mellow, and the poppy and all the other notes blend into this gorgeous, almost mild fruit like floral on me. I love it! Finally a Birthday moon that works!!!

The imp has had a chance to settle so I am rereviewing it. The tea leaf makes this scent ashy. There is an ashy, grey musk, orris note. It's unpleasant and I am ready to wash this off. I am sad, I had such high hopes for this one.

This was all paper, brown leather, vanilla with a hint of dark chocolate cocoa. I Love it!! And it came with the little prince.
-
Apple, musky white honey which smells like beeswax on my skin and something fresh! I love this. I need a bottle...stat!

Sadly this smells like, generic shampoo on me. I think with aging the ambergis will come out. I need to hunt down a partial to test this theory...but other than that...pass.

The Drowned Man’s Ghost Tries to Claim a New Victim for the Sea
Dark Alice posted a topic in Halloweenie
Thorvald Niss Black kelp and opoponax, silt, and dark things dredged up from the depths of a seabed. Tried at NYCC: This is a dead ringer for one of the Irish Bard scents Cucuthulian fights with the sea. *I may have this wrong* on my skin. It has a lighter sea note, but it is a watery ghost rising from the sea. Since I have something that is too similar in nature, I am going to pass on this one. I may find a partial though. Review created. Thank you! -
SIGNIOR DILDO With thanks to Sir John Wilmot. This signior is sound, safe, ready, and dumb As ever was candle, carrot, or thumb; Then away with these nasty devices, and show How you rate the just merit of Signior Dildo. Count Cazzo, who carries his nose very high, In passion he swore his rival should die; Then shut himself up to let the world know Flesh and blood could not bear it from Signior Dildo. A rabble of pricks who were welcome before, Now finding the porter denied them the door, Maliciously waited his coming below And inhumanly fell on Signior Dildo. Nigh wearied out, the poor stranger did fly, And along the Pall Mall they followed full cry; The women concerned from every window Cried, 'For heaven's sake, save Signior Dildo.' The good Lady Sandys burst into a laughter To see how the ballocks came wobbling after, And had not their weight retarded the foe, Indeed't had gone hard with Signior Dildo. A scent of pearls and ivory: orris, violet leaf, narcissus, and Madagascar vanilla. This is a soft gorgeous violet scent. The orris root is not too dry as a matter of fact it keeps the violet from becoming too sweet and too floral. By no means is this a comparison to faith-sugared violets. I don't smell any narcissus either. This is straight up Madagascar vanilla, with hints of orris and violet. Just lovely. If you love vanilla and violet...this one is for you.

HYGEIA Hygeia, Gustav Klimt. Red musk and red amber, sweet incense, Mysore sandalwood, tobacco absolute, golden musk, orris root, frankincense, and helichrysum. This is the softest and nicest red musk scent I have had the pleasure of owning. Wet: Red Musk, with the barest hints of orris root. Dry: Soft red amber, hints of red musk, and on me something clean and golden. Dry this scent evokes something yellow in my mind...I guess it's the golden musk. This is truly a lovely scent and I am so glad that I accidentally ordered two. My mistake is truly my gain.

Dark myrrh, teakwood, olive blossom, a scattering of crushed asphodel petals, and a drop of green cognac. This is such a clean, woody scent. The olive blossom, asphodel, and cognac are the front winners while it's wet. As it dries, the teak wood starts to peek out to say hello, but only subtly. This would smell amazing on my husband. Such a lovely, subtle manly scent.

ODD PORTENTS "Isaac, you dreamed your ill dream on this Wednesday morning. What time was it when you saw the fair woman with the knife in her hand?" Isaac reflected on what the landlord had said when they had passed by the clock on his leaving the inn; allowed as nearly as he could for the time that must have elapsed between the unlocking of his bedroom door and the paying of his bill just before going away, and answered. "Somewhere about two o'clock in the morning." His mother suddenly quitted her hold of his neck, and struck her hands together with a gesture of despair. "This Wednesday is your birthday, Isaac, and two o'clock in the morning was the time when you were born." —Brother Morgan's Story of the Dream-Woman, Wilkie Collins Black rose, olibanum, dark musk, myrrh, blackcurrant, lavender buds, bourbon geranium, and amber incense. Odd indeed! Portents in here are amazing. There is fruit in this. Black currant is peeking through along with the lavendar with the barest hints of rose. There is something fruity, dark, and sensual about this. I don't smell the myrrh or the black musk. Everything is so well blended that nothing dominates. It's just kind of all mish mashed in there to create this heavenly scent. This is definitely a keeper!

Leda: I had such high hopes for you. But...the golden and red musks are clashing instead of blending on my skin. I smell each one individually and they are being bitch slapped by the sandalwood turning them into dry old red and gold hags fighting each other over the last bag of bread on Senior's day at the grocery mart. *Sigh* Off to a new home for you.

Wet: Smells like cheap, fake coconut cake. Dry, Sweeter fresh coconut. PASSING SO HARD ON THIS. But I am glad I got to try it.
-
Frankincense, myrrh, leather, ti leaf, saint wood, benzoin, and labdanum absolute. If you love frankincense and myrrh GO GET THIS!!!!! Wet: Light frankincense and myrrh with the barest hints of leather. Drydown:The frankincense and myrrh blend beautifully to make a wonderful kickass leathery badass scent. I love it!

Tested at NYCC: Wet: straight up sugar with pumpkin. Not pumpkin spice, pumpkin. On the skin...burnt pumpkin sugar. So glad I tested it. So glad I don't like it.
-
Wet: Every note is here and it is glorious. Dry: Grape bubblegum. I was sad. B/c this was going to be an instabuy, thankfully I got to try it at NYCC.

Dead Leaves, Raw Leather, Bourbon Vanilla, and Clove
Dark Alice replied to puellacaerulea's topic in Halloweenie
This is my favorite of the leaves so far! It has the lightest brown leather note, not headache inducing at all! The Dead leaves blends sublimely with bourbon vanilla and the clove actually takes front from wet to dry. IT morphs in strength throughout the day, but it is always there. 10/10- 24 replies

I wore this yesterday. Wet: Dead Leaves and Sugared Cardamom. As the day goes on, the cardamom stays true just less sweet, and rounds out the Dead Leaves beautifully. Definitely going to keep this bottle.

This smells like cherry cream with blackberries. On my skin...the cherry amps and the berries go bitter. *sigh* Off to the swaps with you.

In the bottle: Champagne and Cake Dried down: Gentle wafts of champagne with cake. White cake with alcoholic notes to it. I wish I had some champagne cake to eat right now.
-
I took a chance on this one and I am so glad that I did. The frosting blends so well with the paper note that it is cozy. Such a pleasant surprise. I thought this would be super sweet and it's not. I may or may not need a back up of this from NYCC.

Brown musk, myrrh, and sun-baked leather afflicted by splotches of saffron and red musk. This is just a beautiful brown musk with myrrh and a dash of red musk purring in the background. It doesn't last very long...but that's okay. It's amazing and I am a slatherer. There is the barest hint of leather in here...but mostly musk of glory! I love it!

This smells like a pack of skittles. Cherry, lemon, grape, lime, orange. On me, smells the same. Fruity, sugary rush! Too bad it gives me a headache. I am so glad my decant found a new home.
