I Married a Vampire from Planet X
Dark Alice replied to GypsyRoseRed's topic in Retail Exclusive Oils
I received this in a swap from a very generous Forumite!!! For some reason I get rose, cinnamon, and clove in this scent. It's absolutely gorgeous. None of the melon rind or white musk comes out but I can definitely smell the black musk. It's very dark and sweet, almost sensual. And this is the second bottle I have ever run into in the BPAL kingdom that has cinnamon that I can wear. This imp is a definite keeper!!! -
The Lune Noire Bottle looks nothing like the original Black Moon Bottle. (I received mine on saturday and I have Black Moon) Unfortunately, I can't speak for scwharzermond.
-
On me: It's blueberry pie filling and then dries to sweet blueberry tea. But that's according to me and my nose.
-
In the Bottle: Very light scent of pear and something else....something dark. I think it's orchid. Wet on skin: Very light pear and strong gardenia in the dark. Very subtle, the gardenia (which my skin tends to amp) is strong but the orchid seems to pull it back into place and not overwhelm the rest of the scent on my skin. Drydown: It's like walking on a cool september night near gardenia and black orchids. I am going to let this one settle and age a bit, however overall it is an unbelievably gorgeous night/dark scent. I can't wait to wear this in the fall.

Wet: This smells like gorgeous fresh cut apple and apple cider. Wet on Skin: wet, boozy, apple cider. Drydown: Something green, with the apples. It's a little sickening actually. (me thinks its my tko) Me thinks I might be swappin afterall.

Wand Caps. They take less oil out of the bottle. This is good esp. when you want to conserve your LE's.

I don't know what my number is, but I can still review it: In bottle: Lemon and Lime lifesavers Wet on Skin: Lemon and Lime Lifesavers Dry Down: This is the weirdest scent I have ever had from the lab. This dries down to lemon lime pineapple upside down cake. Complete Drydown: Pineapple upside down cake. I don't know if I want to keep this scent, but I am going to wait and see what happens after it settles. Again, the lab has managed to surprise me!!!

This is the perfect description of my review for L'Autunno room spray. However, the smoky, bonfire note makes me sneeze alot, and chokes the back of my throat so I can't use it as a room spray. However, hopefully, it will find a good home. (Courtesy of the review by Atropos) "The spray smells of dry golden Autumn grasses, combined with the crisp, sweet freshness of the apple, and the heavy dark fig and patchouli with bonfire smoke and I am on a hill in a field of dry grass on a crisp Fall day eating a picnic of sweet apple and fig while someone burns leaves in the distance." ETA: I lied folks. I sprayed L'Autunno on my car seats. While driving today, I kept saying what is that wonderful aroma, and then I looked at the L'Autunno Bottle and realized that it was the spray. I fell in LOVE So now....I can't let it go.

I am always amazed at how the Lab captures the scent of an object, or food in a 1ml imp of oil. Bon Vivant smells like a strawberry mimosa! (in the imp) Something I would love to drink, but not wear. Unfortunately the booze (champagne) note goes stale on me and makes me smell like I have been on a 3 day bender with cheap champagne and Delmonte strawberry fruit cocktail.

Lilac and golden musk is gorgeous and that's what I wanted. However, wet on the skin, the beeswax takes over and mixes with the golden musk. Ick. Drydown: However, I am pleasantly surprised by this blend. The beeswax gets smashed into the back ground, and the golden musk and lilac take over. Definitely not bottle worthy but I will be keeping my imp.

I know exactly what this smells like on me. It smells like the dentist's glove with dental toothpaste as I get my teeth cleaned. Yuck!!!! Ironic since I have to go to the dentist on wednesday....

Blood Lotus=Bubblegum. Incensy, sweet fake strawberry bubblegum! How odd.....
-
Humid Banana flavored candy. I am not a fan. I don't like bananas and for some reason my skin does not like hot flowers. Off to the swaps for this one!
-
I received this as a frimp from a wonderful seller! So here goes: wet in imp: Cherry flavored robitussin with rose Wet on skin: Cherry flavored robitussin with rose Drydown: Green rose. Fresh greenery with a hint of rose. This is perhaps one of the oddest BPAL scents I have ever tried!

I received this from a wonderful forumite in a swap, I am so glad that I get to review this. This smells like Zebra Striped Fruit gum, from the time I opened the imp to the time it dried down on my skin. Very unusual. Not my thing, but for those who love fruit flavored scents, this would be right up your alley!!!

This starts out very metal to me. I don't really smell the sea-air, or the wood or the lime. But I smell metal. Kind of like old pennies or nickels. Very masculine. And then it goes to something very pretty. Gray in color. Definitely more for my lawyer days even though I have a smidge. It will last me a long time. ADDED Oct. 18: the cold sea air, bitter metal, and Lime!!! I love this. I am so glad I got it in a swap and I can't wait to wear it on days when I don't feel like being F%$@!d with!

Gorgeous. I have had my one bottle for about a year and I am aging another one. In Bottle: Snake Oil with green bamboo. Wet on skin: Ho wood, bamboo (fresh cut, and green) and then snake oil. Drydown: Spicy, bamboo, with snake oil. This is the only snake oil variant that I can wear that doesn't make me sick from the sweetness. Will be hoarding this before the Carnivale leaves town!!!!!!!!

Faith-from the CD line. Sugared Violet turns into powdery old lady like violet. I love it.

Irrelevant and Disturbing Surreal Crawdad Dream
Dark Alice replied to filigree_shadow's topic in Limited Editions
This is going to make no sense, because this scent evokes not only smell but color. This starts out as Gorgeous Blueberry Pie Filling!!!!!!! Then it turns spicy and then bluish purple in scent and color. Pomegranate purple? and now this scent evokes royal purple with spices. Blueberry pie filling, royal purple and spices. I love this scent. -
Glorious blueberry with a little spice!!!! And then it dries down to nothing but gentle, but regal purple. The only color I see is purple when I smell this and thats whats on my skin. Pretty purple pomengranate. I do not get the tobacco note, which is what drew me to this scent in the first place, but I do smell the pomegranate, purple musk, and blueberry on my skin. It's very light. Simply Gorgeous!!!

Winter Plum and Pine. This is a very clean scent. Not overwhelmingly pine and not like the other winter scents that have not worked well with me from the lab. Chilly winter morning eating a plum. I love it. I can't wait to wear this when the weather begins to cool.

This scent invokes the image of walking down a small alley in Havana, with the smell of lingering flowers on windowsills, Drying tobacco in the Humidor shoppe, and warm leather. It also goes through a phase where the leather note smells just like the wood and eraser of a no. 2 pencil. Then it returns to the smell of a cool leather pouch filled with tobacco!!!!! Imp is definitely a keeper. Don't think it's worth a bottle.

Citrusy. Sweet, like pink grapefruit, but with a little twang. Then the grapefruit fades....to dried down powdered candy? Huh? I have never had an incense blend do this before. It's a very citrusy, dry incensy feel. Strange and wonderful at the same time. I think I will keep this imp and see what happens to it with age!
