This starts out spicy and sexy. Like a couple doing the tango.... It dries down to a spicy, sexy red rose....It is beautiful...I love it....one of the few rose blends that I can wear without an allergic reaction so

To me and on me this smells at first like burning pepper....and then it dries down to a smoky black pepper scent. Needless to say...not a fan!

This. is. perfect. Fresh green apple with a hint of cream...oddly this is all I am getting from this. I love it and the label art matches my bpal skin...and a little of this stuff goes a very long way so I will be able to get alot of use out of this bottle.

Wet: This goes on raspberry, cream, and paper bag. I declare I smell the paperbag note Drydown-this turns into a weird but lovely raspberry cognac with hints of green...I think it's the bag. There is no leather in this for me so... I love it...and I now have my own legal perfume!!!

Manners Among Men and Women in the Red Light District
Dark Alice replied to hkhm's topic in Lupercalia
I loved this when I tried it on....fresh apricot..smelled of orange on me...and the woods....were actually quite herbal. So I loved it...but not enough to buy the bottle. I will just have to be happy with my imp. -
This smelled of bitter chocolate and fresh violets! The chocolate never sweetened up...it was just bitter and the violets make it nauseating. Unfortunately, I had to wash this one off.
-
I finally got to try this at WC last night. It was so light on me.....the pepper is there and so is the caramel...but for some reason...my skin ate this up! So in the end it dried down to light caramel. I so wanted this one to work.

This is a very light scent...I picked up at WC yesterday. It smells very clean...and perfumey...like one of those really expensive shower washes you may use that has some perfume in it...I imagine the naked man on the bottle smells this way. Which is another reason why I love it....so Nekkid man perfume is here to stay!

Floral Mint. Soft floral mint. Some apple blossom mint, some violet mint, with a hint of rose mint. This is the most unusual scent I have ever tried...but alas...off to the swaps pile.

I have no idea how beth does this...but sea foam's blood smells like fresh, green and blue sea water..with hints of metallic notes..which I am assuming is the blood. This one lives up to it's name...

I have to agree with the previous review....this initially starts out as green stem and rose..my nose is off..it actually smelled like green apples and rose in the imp. Blech...this has now become tea rose...which I CANNOT STAND...and greenery. The green smell is quite lovely...but tea rose...do not want!

I got this in a swap....and the notes...are gorgeous except for the ambergis.... we don't get along so well. Wet: Dark, Rich, and Sweet On the skin: Dark, Rich, a little smoky...no ambergis yet....fingers crossed. Drydown: absolutely wonderful...the ambergis is held in check...Yes!!! Other than the pornographic bottle... I have a dick head on my bottle it's perfect. ETA: the ambergis is trying to break through here...but the rest of the notes temper it...so it is absolutely wonderful.

First of all...the label art although gorgeous is not work appropriate apparently upon further examination of the bottle. I also love skin musk and copal so I am so glad that I was able to obtain a bottle of this. Wet: this starts out with a strong kick of copal....it's pretty...but overwhelming. However, as this dries....the copal is tamed down by something....vanilla and beeswax.... I think. This has totally lightened up on my skin...the copal is there but the skin musk and vanilla are keeping it at bay making it sweet, tangy, with just a hint of spice. This scent is staying close to the skin...which is why I love skin musk. Final Thoughts: Definitive winner! ETA: This perfume has an extremely long throw...I put it on at 12pm and now at 5pm it's still there....but my gorgeous vanilla, copal, skin musk is gone. The honey and beeswax have kicked in and smell okay...a little funky? I hope aging this will mellow it out so that it becomes something I can love.

Thanks to the wonderful kindness of a fellow forumite I finally got to try this. On average, my skin absolutely adores lavendar and I adore it too. However, in this blend from wet to the drydown smells like my old great aunt's lavendar perfume and my grandmother's expensive lavendar based perfume. I smell like I belong in a senior citizens center in the victorian era playing bridge with women that have drenched themselves in this scent.

This is lovely. Incensy, light and golden. The cinnamon (for once hallelujah!!!) behaves itself remarkably and it wraps itself around the sandalwood like a golden halo. I am just thrown off a little by the mums and the incense....on the drydown they mix into some kind of funk that you would find in a men's lockeroom. So hopefully with age this will just get better. Overall 3/5 and so glad I got a bottle!!!

This smells like an orange mentholated cough drop. With a hint of grapefruit. Not bad...would definitely wear it when I am sick as I supposed it would be the only thing I could smell anyways!
-
I too have a December wedding coming up this year....any suggestions other than Snow white....on me it's light, coconut, and well like suntan lotion....I love it....but not for the wedding day! Any suggestions for a winter wedding?

Cinnamon Sugar Cookies & Egg Nog
Dark Alice replied to Tibicina's topic in Gifts with Donation or Purchase
I wish there was an icon for perfect post because this is it. In the imp this smells of cinnamon and the egg nog note from egg nog 07 or egg nog latte. However, on the drydown this smells like a snickerdoodle. Sugar cookie with a hint of cinnamon. It's To bad my skin eats this up and I am not a big foodie fan or this would be a winner. -
Mr. Nancy...lime and sugar cookies!

I wore E Plurubus unum on Saturday when Obama was in Baltimore...and I wore Tabella for the Inaguration!

Best BPALs for SUMMER - is it hot, sweltering, sticky outside?
Dark Alice replied to Donnababe's topic in Recommendations
L'Estate....warm, golden....but strong...but this may be hard to find as it was an LE from 08'. I also find Serpents with glittering eyes and forking tongues to be fun and summery...and it's GC. Also...Golden wave or any of the tikis..summer drinks (alcoholic) in a perfume -
Orchid and Lily....and definitely Rose Otto. The rose is amped the orchid and lily are now gone. Not a fan...I thought I would like it with coconut....but the coconut has not shown up at all.

The Wild Men of Jezirat al Tennyn (2006)
Dark Alice replied to Heretic's topic in Carnaval Diabolique
Gorgeous cinnamon, amber, and light ambergis...the ambergis keeps switching from light and wonderful to cat pee! This is lovely. but unfortunately not for me. -
Middle Eastern flowers, amber, honey, blood red-berries, whip leather, and polished paddle wood. Wood...plus something masculine. This scent evokes memories of my father's friend from when I was a child. Mr. Beeman would always pick me up when I was little and give me a hug.....I am amazed at how beth has managed to capture this scent/memory in something that is for book!
