    Kyoto

Ohhh...another new best friend. This came to me in a mystery imp pack. The cherry blossom truly smells like cherries, and the sandalwood makes it so warm, and the star anise (licorice) just gives it a tiny bite. Normally, licorice is only 2nd in line of my least favorite scents (rose kills me), but in this, it has the most wonderful personality. And excellent staying power. I slept with it on last night, and I woke up sniffing, wondering what that wonderful aroma was...it was me.. I need a big bottle of this.

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

In the bottle; WOW Cocoa/caramel, strong and trying to escape from the bottle Then, something a little boozy shows up. On my skin; Still cocoa/caramel/boozy, with a hint of....tobacco? Could that be the cardamon I am mistaking? Where is this cherry I keep hearing about, and all this cinnamon? After a half-hour or so, the scent deepens and darkens to some extent, and while some of it is dark chocolate, I keep catching whiffs of the other beformentioned aromas. Whatever it is keeps this scent from becoming overly foody and sweet. It's just a nice, warm, slightly foody scent. Likin' this one. These Enraged Critters certainly have minds of their own. I wonder how this one will smell in a few months? Maybe I will put it in the back of my private stash box and see.

    Dorian

I have been waiting for this. Such a popular scent! WET: Loads of vanilla and musk. Well, lets slather some on and see what happens! ON SKIN: Loads of vanilla and musk. Then more musk, less vanilla. AFTER 12 HOURS ON: I can still smell this! Amazing staying power. Still lots of vanilla and musk. Well, it IS a nice scent. The period of time it lasts is the best yet. Not sure if I need a big bottle, however.

    Serpent's Kiss

Seething with passion, yet utterly cold-blooded. Dragon’s blood, vetivert and spice. I love nearly anything with Dragon's Blood that BPAL makes, so I am anticipating a good experience with this. WET: Spicy, sweet, but not really a warm scent. Very interesting. ON: There is the Dragon's Blood, sweet, dark, and the spice again (cinnamon?), and what is making this a little....distant? Not warm and enveloping like most Dragony scents... After A While: This is not the average Dragon's Blood mix scent, it does make me feel a little detatched, kind of like a lover who leaves and doesn't care how you feel about it, who will call again, knowing you will say yes, and then doesn't show up, but knows you will let them in again another time. I like this scent. Cold blooded lust.

    Devil's Night

The '05 version; In the bottle, uummm, warm, a little smoky, spicy, it has definite possibilities! On skin;.. WOW. Autumn evening, in the mood to create a ruckus. No real booziness, very warm, a little spicy, a fantastic musk I could swim in, just a hint of smoke. Ahhh, this is trouble in a bottle, and I wish I would have had it years ago. A little dangerous, intoxicating, sexy, something a nose would follow without conscious thought. I need another bottle of this so I can use the heck out of this one. I have no idea how I did this twice,

    Aunt Caroline's Money Draw

After enjoying the scent of Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo, I decided anything from Aunt Caroline is gonna be good. This is even better than I expected. Smells so citrusy in the bottle, and upon application, stays a clean, citrus, no candy, cloying sweetness here. And then the spices, not too much, just a little, and the next thing to hit my nose is, orange and key lime zest? Awww, this is just a wonderful scent, I don't care what it is supposed to be made for, it is a excellent citrus scent!

    Red Phoenix

I slathered this all over after sniffing it frorm the bottle, and...it disappeared! I put some under my nostrils, just to be sure, and it was...just ..not..there. I have read from fellow forumites about their skin eating the scent, I just never thought it could happen to me..... Well. guess it will be an excellent room scent...

    Ace of Pentacles

From the bottle; Strong, eucalyptus hitting me in the nose. On my skin; Still eucalyptusy(?) Then suddenly, it fades back, and it is soil. Not Funeral soil (thank GOD!), but like a walk in the mountains soil, kind of dampish, loamy, and old wood. I smell just a hint of the patchouli, and a good pine, not a room spray pine. I don't do tarot, so all I can say is that this smells good, either for a home scent, or a "wish I was in the hills hiking" comfort smell. Nice, and unexpected.

    The World

What an odd scent! Hard citrusy candy meets mintish herb powder? As it sits on my skin, I smell a faint woody something, not familiar, not entirely unpleasant. And here comes the hard candy again! I don't dislike this, I don't think it is for me, however.

    Peitho

In the bottle: Jasmine. A little clove, and Stargazer lily. On my skin;Wow. Lots of Jasmine and Stargazer Lily. Lol I was not aware that there was an oil of Stargazer. Just like I stuck my head in a bundle of freshly opened blooms. On drydown; Still the two are most predominant, but I am getting more Clove now, and maybe a little of the Sandalwood. I am going to have to try this one again at a later time. I am feeling overwhelmed by the BIG two.
  11. Dance of Death...makes me spiritually ill..have bad mojo with this

    Delirium

I keep trying the scent with rose in it, thinking the BPAL magic will change it. Sometimes, it is ok. Not this time. Opening the vial; VILE! Ewww, Rose room spray. I smell the tiniest bit of lemon. Nope. It's putting my teeth on edge. On skin; Holy bathroom, Batman! I got some on my nose! Get the rubbing alcohol! (takes the rose smell right away from me) Off my skin and on to the sell pile for you, evil thing...

    Hellcat

A soft, sensual, luxuriant blend with a wicked bite: hazelnut, buttercream, honey mead, rum and sweet almond. In the bottle; All buttery rum and warm alcohol, On Skin; Still buttery, but now I smell...tobacco? Where the heck is that coming from? And Honey, smells sticky and warm. Maybe the tobacco-y scent is the mead... RUM just burst into the mix. After an hour; Still honey and rum, I still smell something tobacco, And the almond hse come into play. Interesting scent. Not sure if it's a keeper or not, going to have to test it again another time.

    House of Mirrors

Definitely not Snake Charmer. If a scent could be called Dull and Boring, this is it. I smell, in the bottle, a faint musk, Very faint. And some off brand laundry detergent. I hate this. Sorry folks. Off to the adoption pile you go.
  15. impadua@aol.com

    Sugar Skull

Upon opening the bottle; My teeth go on edge, what is in this bottle? Headache is starting at the temples..Immediately closing the bottle. Didn't even get to TRY this one on. . Rarely do I have this type of reaction to anything except some ExBF's and most hip hop. Off to the sale stack you go.

    Morocco

I got a 10ml bottle of this in anticipation of all my olfactory desires coming true. O.K., overkill alert!!! Smells nice, but not my forever love. First sniff on my skin: warmish, sweet, a little spicy, sweet (did I mention sweet?), nice scent....OH...NO!!!!! Not this....where is the plastic smell coming from?? This can't be happening. I will try again another time. =========================================================== OK, a few days later; Still nice, still sweet and just a little spice..waiting for plasticy smell......waiting...waiting...NO Plastic! My sinuses were acting up last test. Ok then, it smells like a nice one to wear to work, church, out to dinner with family, a nice basic fragrance. Not tossing into sell pile yet....Give it time to maybe grow on me.

    princess-y scents

I like Maiden for you too. It is clean, kind of sweet, but not candy like, and like Taniwha says, has enough spice so you still feel grownup. (well, a little, anyway!)

    Silk Road

I just got this as a frinp from the lab. I can't really distinguish different notes in it, it is so well blended, and gives me a feel. It's as if I close my eyes I can feel the warmth of the sun, and smell the spices at the outdoor market, and there went a breeze with a citrusy/incensy smell in it, and I turn a corner and there I am at the Renissance Faire, with the smell of cinnamon, neroli? tuberose?gardenia? in the booth I am next to, and.I.am.in.love. I know this scent. It is the scent of happiness. Spring days, gentle breezes, I am truly in love. I must buy a whole lot of this. You lab minxes, you have discovered my weaknesses and I am paying for it....happily.

    Dracul

Dead Sexy! (sorry for the pun ) Very Masculine, classy but a little dangerous. I could sniff this all day. Definitely a man's scent, and I would definitely put the bite on the man wearing it! (Oh, Stop it already!) Makes me feisty too, apparently....

    Wolf Moon 2007

I am very happy with this moon. In the bottle it has all the possibilities of an obsession. On my skin it lasts a very long time. It feels like a relative of it's lunar "brother", Lycaon, but with a chillier feel, must be the pine and cedar. The amber and sandalwood combine to warm me, the musk to heat me up, and the tonka kind of sweetens the mix a little. I am thinking that this one will be even better with a little time. This is definitely one of the best Moons I have had the pleasure to encounter.

    Lycaon

This has everything I Like in it. Dark, warm, full-bodied, rich, deeply animalistic? sexual? powerful? predatory?..I don't know, call it what you may, It has incredible stamina on my flesh, and I want to submerge myself in a vat of it. Then grab a suitable male and pour it all over him. Then, well, ....Yep, gonna wish I had lots more of this.

    Arachne

Arachne is the first scent I have found in Bpal that feels/smells like my garden in the early morning. Kind of damp. kind of loamy, a little herby, a floral that doesn't overtake you, and, I think "gossamer" is the perfect description the combination. Nothing seems to overtake anything else, just morphs into each other. A quiet scent. Glad I have a big bottle of this.

    Juke Joint

Juke Joint Is another wonderful concoction! Warm, sultry Bourbon, with a fresh-out-of-the-garden sprig of mint in a sugar rimmed highball glass. The great thing is I smell no alcohol, just the essence of the Bourbon itself. And stays on my skin, and goes into an amber (?) drydown with just a hint of minty sweetness. (must be the Bourbon talkin' there's no amber listed). Love it! Yep, I am going to have to find myself a spare of this one.

    Tavern of Hell

Tavern of Hell is what I have in my unscented shampoo, and I leave the bottle open, so that every time I go into the bathroom, I get this wonderful punch of fragrance that surrounds me,. I don't smell whiskey at all, I smell Gardenia, wood, and orange blossom, with something a little dark and maybe dangerous underneath..maybe it IS the whiskey... And I smell it all day, and need to get another bottle very soon.

    Dragon's Hide

I am beginning to think all things Dragon's Blood in BPAL is very good for me. First, Dragons Milk, Then Dragons Bone, And then, Dragon Moon. Dragons Hide is strong, yes. And a little smoky. And lasts for a long time on me, with a leather kiss whenever I catch a whiff as I walk. But that sultry sweetness just lingers and lingers. I don't know what the Lab uses for it's ingredients for Dragon's Blood; just don't ever run out of it! I have got to get more of this.
