VAMP.GOTH Rose-infused opium tar and leather. This was almost exactly like Clermont on my skin. Same sharp soapy rose overpowering the opium tar and no leather to be found. I think a little aging would do this one good, but I'm not sure it could over come my skin chemistry.

Are you interested in anything from the Villainness Bad Apples update? I just ordered from there for my witchee and resisted all of the new ones. I'm not much for apples but proscription sounds interesting. If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? Kitty is pretty happy as is. He does not get treats, he does not wear clothes. He is loved but he is a cat. If you are in to beauty and makeup related stuff, what kind of stuff do you like? What is your skintone and hair color? Are there any beauty products you've wanted to try but just never purchase? I refuse to wear makeup besides nail polish. I think I might have already answered this one. But I just want to state it again, no makeup, please! If your witch were going somewhere on a vacation during the round, would you want a little souvenir? I love smooshed pennies. I get them everywhere I go. If you see some and would like to get me one, I would be delighted. I would also appreciate a post card but I'm not interested in anything bigger than those two, unless it just screams me! Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. SOAP. Shower gel usually gives me a rash. I like villainess, BPTP, and any cold process soap. Most melt and pour gives me a rash. I'm okay with almost any scent as long as there is no rose. This was a question before, but does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? I don't really have a thing for stones, but I wouldn't mind some that I could turn into wire wrapped pendants. And another question; anyone like anything in particular from Think Geek? Nope. Pinterest, do you have boards you want to share or are you following anyone with great boards you want to share? I'm not one for using other people's ideas to express my 'individuality'. Never heard of it before now, and have no interest. Do you enjoy puzzles/riddles? (Cryptograms, Sudoku, Crossword, Jigsaw, etc) I like plain old jigsaw puzzles. And jeopardy. Especially when it's teen week because it makes me feel super smart! Fabulous witches and witchees, perhaps you all could note of you've received MeiLin's goodies? Or if you want? Actually, I had no idea who she was or that she wrote books until this round. They don't sound like something I'd be very interested in. I'm not one for romantic stories or smut. do you like real sugar skulls? Things with sugar skull designs? Sure. I like them. They are interesting, but I'm not OMG FUCK YEAH about them. Who here adores meringue? I'm meh about them. They are awesome sometimes, but rarely. How do people feel about little pocket shrines, maybe something inspirational/motivational to keep in their purses/backpacks/whatever? (Like these: http://www.art-shrin...cketshrines.htm) Motivational stuff makes me gag. I like the look of pocket shrines (kitsch is awesome) but I don't think I'd really appreciate it as much as others. Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? I like them because of my dad. While the prequels were utter crap, I love them because my dad took me to see all of them as they opened because he remembered going to the originals as a kid. It was a lot of fun, simply for the fun dad times. Do you like beef jerkey, I know some may be vegatarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. If so do you it really thin, hard and crunchy or thicker and softer. (OK that borders on obscene)- If it's got muscles, I like it as jerky. I fucking love jerky. I'm more of a thick and soft girl. I have a couple spare Doctor Who stickers. If my witchee is a fan, would they like a couple Doctor Who stickers in their package? Not a fan. Anyone love Buffy/Angel? Yup. Love buffy haven't ever watches Angel. I just have a little thing for Sarah Michelle Gellar though. How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? Gummy is loved in my house. I can't stand werewolves. They are the lamest supernatural beings ever. How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? No to gela skin (WTF is that?) yes to decals or stickers if they aren't the size of my whole laptop, because it already has a ton of stickers on it. My phone could use some as well. But I'm not sure I want to dress up that POS. Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? Just a little! I have three holes in one ear and 5 in the other. My tongue is pierced and so is my navel. All of my ear holes are gauged (14g, 12g, 10g, 1/2" or 13mm) so no normal earrings, please. My tongue could use some new stuff, but I have tons and just haven't changed it in . . . 5 years. 0.0 I'd say go for plugs if you're going to get my piercing jewelry. I have tons I like on my etsy favorites. Are you looking for a certain kind of DVDs to spruce up your collection right now? No, we are actually thinking of getting rid of all of them. Do you like Star Trek? Original TV series, films, spinoff series, etc? Favorite characters? Next generation. Again, because of my father. I can vividly remember him cat calling 7 of 9 on the TV.

Etsy NSFW! for the women's shirts a 3xl will fit me. Knitpicks (ignore the quantities on this one, even one ball of any of these amazing yarns would be awesome) I would love gift cards to: amazon.com yarn.com teefury.com threadless.com sockdreams.com zoya.com transdesign.com rhlindsaywool.com lush.co.uk I will update these lists and add more as we go on. If you want to know something just email/pm me! Or ask it in the switch witch thread, I have been keeping up with that fairly well.

Sweet sweetness! A lot like celeste. I get no sharp note, just lovely, girly, sweetness. (I'm so bad at picking out notes!)

Ugh. Apparently I do not like BPAL hemp. This is horrible on my skin, the hemp amps up to high medicinal/manly/metallic in a bad way and covers everything else. It nearly gives me a headache. As my wife put it "the perfect balance between the hemp, vanilla, and patchouli is what makes banshee beat so awesome. This doesn't have that balance and it makes it horrible." I'm starting to feel that most of the protos are protos for a reason. Beth's a professional for a reason!

Wow, it's amazing what different noses smell! To me this is patchouli and dirt. Strong, earthy patchouli. Amazing! I can only imagine how this will age.

Ghoul-Haunted Woodland of Weir Atmosphere Spray
bloody sore replied to cfrancesca's topic in Atmosphere
OMG. I got a bottle of this for a friend and made the mistake of smelling it before I sent it to her . . . This stuff is amazing. Perfect, almost. Very oaky, deep, and reminds me of one of my favorite incenses, river path. Strong, deep and long lasting. I'm so glad I was able to track down some of this for myself! -
Somehow, this is just rose to me. Icky, soapy rose. WTF? I've got to let this sit a few days and test again, right now, I'm really disappointed.
-
Man, I really thought this one was going to be perfect. I love amber. It's something that my chemistry usually morphs well. Not here. It get a strong powder that reminds me of old lady spit. Of how my grandmother's house used to smell and it always made be gag a little. Now, this doesn't actually make me gag but it is close. I really don't like this one.

A slightly sweet, soft aquatic. Nice but nothing I would wear often. Once it dries down, a little bit of cucumber starts to come out. My skin eats this up quickly and is mostly gone in a few hours.
-
Yup, sweet lemony vanilla musk. If you don't like lemons, don't be afraid of this one! The lemon is soft and sweet in this, not tart, like it often is. This is really nice.

I agree that this is very dirty. Wet, it's very similar to graveyard dirt, but with less tang. Dry, I think there might be a little bit of basil in this! Wonderful green dirty awesomeness. ETA: on the fade out this got a little perfumey for me. Something else creeped in that I'm not too thrilled with. I will be trying this again for sure.

I'm wondering if my bottle is from a different batch, or something else all together. Wet, this is buttery and a little bit of resins. Dry, it's carnation and a little bit of resin. This needs to age, but there is not any patchouli in this, and it is nothing like panther moon. I'm sad as the other reviews made it sound amazing. I think with some aging it will be good but nothing like the others have described.

This reminds me of red tea. Musky red tea. I get no pink pepper, mint, or anything like that. Just smooth, sweet, fruity red tea.
-
In the bottle: That sharp tang that is all I smell when a blend has dirt. Not a smell I like in the bottle, but I love most on my skin. Wet: Dirt. Sweet, deep, amazing dirt. I love it when it's wet and for about the first two hours. Dry: I think something is going wrong with my chemistry. This gets VERY powdery. Very, old ladyish, and not something that I'm sure I like. I think it's the combination of the amber and the musk that is doing this. But I still think I like the throw, so I think this might do well as a scent to wear, but not something to huff. If that makes any sense. I will have to layer this with the queen of clubs, as they seem like they would layer well.

So when talk of the RPGs was going around, someone posted like a quiz to find out what character you were. I got chaotic evil human ranger. So of course this was the first combo I tried. Wet: Chaotic is overpowering and making this sweet musky, like the candy, which I can't stand. I'm a little worried about this! Dry: The leather comes out, but none of the opium. Musky leathery with a slight tang in the back ground. Nice but not sure I'd wear it again. Good thing I just got imps!

This is mostly juniper and mint on my skin. The lotus in this is either hiding or different kind than is in lotus moon and black lotus, as it doesn't make me sick like those do. A tolerable lotus scent, but nothing good.
-
Meh. I'm usually a big fan of vetiver, but not a fan of violets. I would have never been able to pick out the violet, but now that I've read it, I can. It's there making the vetiver gross! It almost makes it remind me of chicken bullion cubes for some reason. It adds a sharp almost rancid quality that I just do not like.

Where is my order? What is Click N Ship? How long does this take?
bloody sore replied to Snow White's topic in BPAL FAQs
I would email them again. I emailed on Saturday of this week and heard back on Monday. Make sure you include your order number in the subject line so they know what they're looking for and I'm sure they will get back to you. Honestly orders from the beginning of last month aren't that far off where they should be, but if you are concerned email them again. They will work it out, they always do! -
Oh man, this is the stuff. I'm a huge fan of opium, my past favorites being event horizon and chrysanthemum moon. This is a lighter, softer opium. Like beginners opium. Unfortunately, this is also the blend that helped Lace realize that what she hates in most of my perfumes is opium. I'm not sure if this one is good enough to still wear, we'll see. Overall, very sweet opium, you can sure smell the rose, but it blends in nice, and is a tolerable kind of rose. Not at all like the nastiness of fresh picked roses.

Ugh. I don't know what's going on with this scent and me, but we do NOT get along. In the bottle it smells like weed whacking. I mean, it smells like when you go out and weed eat. You've got the pollen, the dry grass, a little bit of wet grass, and sweat. And heat and more dust. Ugh. My nose is very picky about leather, I generally do not care for it, and it often smells fake to me. But this is exceptionally bad. If this is really what this place smells like, I do not want to go there. No. Once it's dry it takes on a sickly sweet smell that makes me really want to wash it off, and reminds me of some exceptionally stale rooibos macadamia tea I once had. No sir.

Crushed herbs and sweet amber resin with a streak of patchouli, neroli and golden musk. I won this bottle in one of the lab's recent ebay auctions. So long have I wanted to smell this one. The description sounds perfect! Sadly, that is not the case. I mostly get the 'crushed herbs' and not much else. I threatens to turn into the dreaded bell pepper note of great mystery. Hardly a trace of the amber of patchouli, and only a slight hint of the musk. *sigh*

This is on my list of the worst BPAL of all time. Something in this is just not right on my skin. Once on, I get baby powder and lemon. But not really baby powder, more like baby powder that's been on a poopy butt and lemon. Did I mention how much I really don't like lemon? Or baby powder? And of course, when I put this on, it was running out the door to go for a 3 hour drive. :/ It also wasn't just my nose, as the wife agreed with the baby powder and lemon nastiness.

I've never smelled any version of hod before. I generally like carnations, though I'm not really a floral kind of girl. This is a light and vanillaish floral that is nothing special to me. Very soft throw and not much staying power.
-
I agree with the comparison to Inez. This is Inez without the 'fire' or smoke or whatever it is that smells like something burning on me. This is lighter, sweeter, fairly floraly woody and I'm not sure that I really like it.
