Chaos Theory III: Strange Attractors
supremegoddessofall replied to shelldoo's topic in Limited Editions
CT3: DCLI Indistinct. I can't smell anything! Previously reviewed by PilotKitten. CT3: MCLXXVI Slightly aquatic, slightly spicy, slightly floral. Interesting. -
Smells like fruit on top of marijuana resin. Ick.
-
Strong florals, a bit of something sharp. Maybe a touch of citrus?
-
Light honey and florals. Pretty, but indistinct.
-
Anise. Ick. Maybe some florals and other foodies behind it, but pretty much this is pure lotus.
-
Jasmine is the predominant element here, as it so often is on me when it's in blends. Going slightly sour, as usual. Not really getting citrus - this is mostly a floral blend that's somewhat warm, but still smells like chemical flowers.
-
Slightly floral vanilla that is soft and absolutely gorgeous. Touch of something spicy smelling behind it - the stephanotis? I don't know what that smells like, so...anyway, definitely a keeper.
-
Spicy salt. Not really getting the rum or the perfume. Pretty and somehow Christmasy.
-
I don't know what to make of this one. It's definitely herbal, but I don't know that I'm getting anything in particular. Not getting the evergreen I expected to get from the spruce. A touch spicy, too, but in a kitchen spice way.
-
Primarily citrus that is overwhelming near everything else. What I do get underneath is a generic herbal, nothing to write home about. The citrus for me means straight to the swap pile.
-
Fruity musks that almost become a sweet wine. I'm getting more strawberry than grapefruit. Very rich and pretty.
-
Gah! I should have ordered a bottle of this! This is beautiful musky leather that says "ah, ah, you've been naughty!" This is the leather of a cat o'nines or a riding crop, but in a good way. Lightly spicy and definitely wicked.
-
Chemical rose that is obliterating everything else. None of the sweet pea I was hoping for. Also getting a bit of something metallic.
-
I didn't order a bottle of this one as violet usually turns to shite on me. It's actually prettier than I thought it would be - the amber and the orris are doing a good job of keeping the violet in check. There's also a bit of something minty in here that I wasn't expecting. This still isn't a scent I would have bought a bottle of, but it's not bad.
-
Minty with a dark tone. I like it more than I thought I would - the "asphalt" note had me worried. This is definitely a cold scent, with a bit of aquatics. The vetiver is very subdued.
-
Fruity and pretty! I'm also getting quite a bit of pizzazz from the chili pepper and just a touch of sweetness from the sugar cane.
-
Spicy citrus. If it were more spice and less citrus, I might be able to deal with it, but the orange is too overwhelming for me, even though the patchouli is pretty.
-
All pennyroyal, and it's beating the lavender into submission. Not for me.
-
Strong vanilla in florals. Very violet-y, but not overwhlemingly so. However, this is a very strong scent. Also a bit powdery, and maybe too much for me.
-
Very salty - my nose is wrinkling a bit at it. Rum is barely there - mostly I'm getting a very salty leather. A bit too salty for me, but I bet this would smell great on a guy.
-
A lot of notes competing with one another. Definitely spicy and fruity, and the florals are barely there. There's a slight bubblegum quality in the background. I like it better than I thought I would, but I'm not sold on it.
-
Exactly what it says it is - dragon's blood and sandalwood. I get more dragon's blood than sandalwood, but then I tend to amp that anyway.
-
Light citrus and florals. Not bad, but not for me.
-
This is very earthy, with a touch of aquatics. Not really my thing, but not unpleasant.
-
Lightly fruity tea. I get more grapefruit than apple, and other than a touch of "nose tickle," I'm really not getting ginger at all. It has a wet, slightly aquatic feel to it.
