This one surprised me. I loved the scent the moment I opened the imp. However, when I put it on, it was horrible - just a bitter "wine that's gone off" smell. After about a minute, though, it morphed beautifully, and it's now a close second for my favourite scent. When i put this on, the first 30-60 seconds smell bitter, but as it begins to dry, it instantly becomes a blend of mulled red wine, with a touch of mimosa. I love this, and I ordered a bottle right after trying it. A bonus with this one is that it has great throw AND staying power (if i put it on in the morning, I can still smell it when I go to bed - the same smell, but with less throw as the day wears on).

    Tombstone

This is by far my favourite BPAL scent so far! I love vanilla, but if there's a hint of a thought of fruit in it, the vanilla is lost on me. This is a wonderfully unexpected variation with the woody notes. Wet, the vanilla is the most prominent, but the woody notes are a close second. As it dries, the woody notes, recede a bit, but the vanilla stays true for hours, which is a minor miracle, with my chemistry. This smells delicious, and I immediately bought a bottle.

    The Hanging Gardens

This was one of the first BPAL's I ever tested, so my nose can't pick out all the notes. To me, this was just a really well blended mild fruity-sweet smell. It's not one that screams my name, but it's definitely lovely, and I'll probably buy at least an imp of it to have around, for those more formal occasions when i don't want to smell like the foody or spicy smells I normally wear for casual days.

I love spicy, foody smells, but I never imagined a perfume with a chocolate note, so I decided to try this for curiosity's sake. Wet this smelled strongly of chocolate covered cherries. As it dried it became slightly powdery chocolate with a hint of cherries. I actually like this smell, but I'm not sure I'd wear it as a perfume.

I love spicy, foody smells, so this was part of my first Lab order... I love it! It's pure spice on me the minute I put it on - first nutmeg, then cloves... As it dries, the scent is more evenly blended. The spices recede a bit, which is too bad, but still a wonderful, spicy scent with a hint of pumpkin.

    Bon Vivant

This was an imp from my first Lab order... the description intrigued me for a perfume. Wet this was pure alcohol on me, with just a hint of fruitiness if I searched for it. As it dried, the strawberries caught up, and the smell fits the description - sort of a strawberry champagne spritzer... interesting, but having tried it, it's a little too alcoholic for me to wear as a perfume.
