In the bottle, I get the strong florals -- to me it smells a bit rosy, but milder -- must be the lily. I'm not a big fan of florals, but I'm game so I put it on. tick tock tick tock -- 20 minutes later ... Okay, I'm still smelling the floral, although it's faint. And y'all may call me crazy, but I swear, it smells like the peanut dressing at the japanese steakhouse. ~blink~ I guess that's the eastern spices. It's ... interesting. I'm not sure if it's me, though. But it's definitely interesting. It's making me seriously want to go to the steakhouse tho.

In the bottle and on the skin, all I smell is gardenia. It's very pretty, but not for me.

I am so so so so so glad I broke down and got this one too. I originally was just going to get Black Moon, but then thought, "aw what the hell, who can resist having a 'Black Moon Rising' set?" Besides, I figured I could always swap with someone if it turned out that patchouli was once again just not my thing. Oh, how wrong I was. I smell like spicy Dr. Pepper! (granted I dislike the *taste* of Dr. Pepper, but I've always liked the smell. This works out well, because I doubt the Lab wanted us to drink Schwarzer Mond ...) Since I can't kiss the Lab's Brian, I'll make due and kiss MY Brian, as a thank you.

It's here it's here oh yay it's here! Wet: I smell the jasmine, of course, and the cucumber. Jasmine and cucumber together -- who knew it could smell that good? I'm also getting a hint of the musk and occasionally a whiff of pear, but it's overwhelmingly jasmine ... and well, cucumber. Dry: Soft floral, with occasional hints of the fruit/veg combo. I'm loving this. *especially* when I layer it with it's brother, Schwarzer Mond.

In the bottle: Uh, I smell Robitussin. No, seriously. Robitussin. Wet: Still Robitussin. Oh no. Okay, don't panic. Dry down: Inhaling with a slightly open mouth (hey I have a cold) oh... so THAT's the white pepper. Interesting. Less cough syrup smell now. Oh good. This may be a keeper after all. Now I'm getting apple blossom, with a touch of the citrus of the orange peel. Overall, if I can get past the first five to ten minutes of the cough syrup thing, this is a very nice blend. I may eventually give it to someone who can appreciate it more, but I can see me wearing this on occasion.

I've been looking forward to getting this one. In bottle: I smell mostly the verbena, and grass. Where's the ginger? I don't really smell the ginger, nor the amber. Wet: Ah! There's the ginger. Ginger likes my skin so it always seems to pop right out. I still get the verbena and the grassy undertone, but no sage, really, that I can tell, which is good, as I'm not a big fan of sage. Dry: Mmm ... the amber's finally coming through. That always shows up late on me. Definitely has that "golden" sort of thing going. This is a great springy-summery scent, so the timing is a bit off for the year. I probably won't wear this one too often until after Imbolc, when I'm in the midst of winter doldrums and want so desperately to look towards spring. Still, I'm so glad I got it now. It makes me smile when I smell it.

They say you can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey out of the girl. Oh how true that seems to be, now that I'm holding this lovely bottle in my hand. In the bottle, I smell the campgrounds of Camp Kettle Run, where I spent many a time camping with my fellow girlscouts all those years ago. (We used to tell stories of the Jersey Devil around the campfire -- now I've got a bottle of him!) Wet, dry ... it doesn't seem to morph much. I just get pine barrens. Without the stench of garbage. How lovely! Thank you, Beth, for bringing me back to a part of my childhood that I'd forgotten.

The Tibetan goddess of love and wealth. Her scent is a harmonious, sweet, enchanting blend of three lotus blooms and three roses. I got this as a frimp in my CD order today. This is very odd. I opened it up and I smelled the roses, lots of roses. Lots of roses give me headaches. But, I've tried floral scents before that I wasn't sure of in the imp, but they ended up smelling pretty good once on. So, I'm game. ... chlorine? Why would I smell chlorine? For a moment I had to check to make sure I wasn't at the pool. Bizarre. No, I think this goes in the swap pile.

I got this as a sample a while ago and loved it -- had to go and get a bottle as I couldn't wait for the next Friday the 13th. In bottle: Mostly chocolate, with a bit of a fruity undertone. Wet: Chocolate. All chocolate -- overpoweringly chocolate. Drying: Still chocolate as the main scent, but other things are starting to come forward, like orange and some sort of floral ... Dry: This is flowers dipped in chocolate. I can't describe it any other way. It's like someone picked flowers from the garden and dipped them into a bowl of melted chocolate. I really don't smell any orange anymore. Just flowers and chocolate. The perfect valentine, maybe?

I originally ordered New Orleans simply for it's association for my great affection for that beloved city. My husband and I honeymooned there in 2003, and returned for our first anniversary. We were devastated when Katrina hit there last year. When I first got the bottle, I was disappointed, because I thought I'd never be able to wear it. The honeysuckle was so strong in the bottle that I got a headache shortly afterwards. But today, in honor of the anniversary of Katrina's ransacking of the city, I decided to wear it anyway. While it was wet, I had a nasty headache. The jasmine and honeysuckle combo was so overpowering, I felt like I'd be thrown into a big bush of the stuff. Then it dried, and I was left with a soft floral, more jasmine than honeysuckle, with a very faint citrusy-spicy scent, and within minutes, my headache went away. I think that while I won't wear it often, I will still wear it on occasion. And when my husband and I *do* return to New Orleans, and we will, oh believe me, we will, I shall bring it with me.

In bottle: Smells like tea roses, with a little something -- probably the milk or honey. Wet: Soft floral. Just flowers, no honey, no milk. Not exciting, but well, innocent and sweet. Husband liked it as he kissed me goodbye and got a whiff behind my ear. Dry: Okay this is odd. Left wrist, I smell roses, roses, roses. Right wrist? I get the honey and the milk. I think that's a first for me -- where my wrists split the notes. Either way, it's a nice scent, if faint. But then again, on a hot summer's day, I don't WANT an overpowering scent, so it's a good choice for mid to late August Virginia heat.

In the bottle: not really smelling mint. Something sharp, definitely, but not anything I'd identify as mint. Wet: Still sharp, but no mint. Actually, it's kinda earthy/floral. Not really my thing as a general rule. On tongue: Oops. Now I taste the mint. Must remember to wash hands before falling back into nailbiting habit, at least when I've recently used that finger to apply bpal. Dry: Faint mint smell, but that could still be left over from the taste test. Still getting the floral thing -- hrm. Actually it kinda smells like evergreens. Not sure if I'll keep this one or not. I'm more likely to use it as an air freshener, I think.

In the bottle: Mmmm ... coconut, and a hint of butter. Wet: Coco-coco-coconut! Yum. I always place it behind my ears, and every time I turn my head, I get a fresh whiff of it. So, so good. Dry: The smell fades on my wrists pretty quickly (darn it) but those pulse points on my neck keep it going. It's not an overpowering smell -- nice sweet coconut milk with a hint of butter, and something else keeps peeking through, but I'm not sure what. This is definitely one of my favorites.

I got to try this when I was doing a swap 'n sniff at my friend's home the other day. In the bottle: definitely lemon, and I smell flowers and vanilla too. Wet: Yikes! Lysol. Oh dear. Drying: Whew. Fading, fading, no more lysol. Faintly lemony-merigne (or however you spell it) and something else. Not sure if it's perhaps the honey. Dry: Faint clean citrus scent with a slight floral. Can't wait for this to show up in the mail in my own order.

I was so excited to get this in imp form the other day and couldn't wait to try it. I love chocolate, like so many and opened it up to sniff. I caught the orange blossom, but no real chocolate. In fact, the orange blossom was smelling a little "off." So I waited to try it before my shower as a "just in case." I'm glad I did, because at least on my skin? No chocolate, no orange blossom. Cat pee. Oh well.
