Taurus is the second sign of the Zodiac and associated with material pleasure. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a practical, reliable, patient, sensuous, affectionate, competent, ambitious, and determined character, but one which is also prone to laziness, jealousy, inflexibility, greediness, and stubborness. In terms of anatomy, Taurus is said to rule the vocal chords, tonsils, palate, throat, neck, ears, and lower jaw. In terms of geography Taurus is linked with Switzerland, Sweden, Cyprus, Ireland, Iran, Russia, and Greece. Physically, individuals born under the sign of Taurus supposedly tend to have a full and square face, small ears, a rounded and dimpled chin, a short and turned-up nose, large and expressive eyes, glowing and opaque skin, full and well-shaped lips, small and even teeth, and thick hair. They are thought to usually be of average height. According to astrology, those born in April are usually big-boned and those born in May are sometimes more slight-of-frame. Muscadine, black and red patchouli, cereus and nag champa. Urd came as a frimp with my BPAL order, and can't find it on either forum or site, so.. new scent, first review! Go me! From Wikipedia: In Norse Mythology Urd (ON: Urðr) is one of the three Norns (old crones). Her name means that which has become, and is related to the English word weird. She was also called the Dís of Death. Also see Well of Urd, the holy well supposed to harbor the head of Mimer the giant and the source of water for the world tree Yggdrasil. In bottle: Strong floral on top, slightly citrusy/sharp, and musk/smoke undertones. Something sweet in the smoke as well, incense-y? Wet: VERY incense, and almost soapy. Round, sweet florals float on top of the incense, sharp tang I noted in the bottle mellows out almost immediately. Strong throw! 15min: Floral has softened down a little, and the smoke/incense/musk notes are more prominent underneath. This smells very much like the incense I used to burn in college, in fact. Unfortunately, it's also starting to give me the throat/sinus-tickling sensation I get from a lot of the 'warm' oils. Still need to figure out what that common ingredient is.. 30min: The throw is definitely incense. Nag Champa? one of the devotional ones, anyway. At the wrists: nose-tickling smoke, sweet floral, sharp tang mostly gone. Throw wafting off my wrists is definitely inducing slight dizziness - wow, it really is just like college. 1hr: Floral and incense have mellowed out and blended a bit more. The 'smoke' smell has suddenly expanded and become more - earthy? maybe a salt smell, almost? that is, it doesn't smell like salt, but like salt tastes. the tickly effect has gone away somewhat.. throw is still quite strong. 2hrs: Smoke and incense smells much less prominent, floral still strong, musk making a reappearance. (This is not uncommon on my skin, and I have no idea why..) Throw still medium-strong, wow.. I'm liking this scent a little more two hours in, as components fade away. Final judgement: This scent is a little discordant - I'm not sure if it's the sharp musk-tang, or the incense/smoke combination, but I don't see it as harmonizing well with the way I like to smell. Am sorry that I don't have more experience to be able to compare it to other BPAL fragrances, and say "it's like this" or "it's not like this." I might use the imp again if I were going into a situation where I needed a strong scent against other bodies (like a club or something), but it's more likely that this will go into a swap pile. Merged with existing review topic. --Shollin

And this is kind of the other thing that's bothering me. no response to Friday's or today's email, as of yet, which makes me feel ungood about the customer service level, and less likely to order again. And yet, others seem to get very fast response.. *sigh* maybe they're just busy..

OOOOHHHHHH. Yes, that was definitely part of my order. The one I was most looking forward to, in fact. Is there someplace they post notifications on the forum for stuff like this? Now I'm feeling guilty because I sent them grumpy email.

I am curious - while I've bought several fragrances on EBay, I placed my first order direct to BPAL on 9/18, and have received nothing. No notification the order's in queue, no click-n-ship (though I'm having trouble figuring that forum out, or if there's some site I'm supposed to check), and _definitely_ no fragrances. I did get an email from Sara on 9/19 after I asked a question about CCNow vs. paypal, saying "the order looks fine", but that's all. Money cleared out of my account 9/21. Sent email requesting update on Friday 10/13, have received no response as of yet. Sent another one this am, not expecting response really. I'm about ready to chalk this one up to experience and count it lost, except that y'all seem to get orders successfully and even quickly. Is there something I can do, or a way to get even a status update, from BPAL? Or should I just stick to EBay from now on?
