    Circe

This is gorgeous! I'm beginning to think a lot of aquatic florals really do suit me. So very few BPAL scents cling to me for more than several hours, and Circe is one of the precious few that lasts for hours on end. For those of you not getting along with the ylang-ylang, maybe Ophelia would suit you better? It's a rich, heady scent that reminds me of a lotus floating in water. It's exotic, it beckons to you, quite suiting of an island temptress.

    Sample Selection Field Fixed!

Huzzah, that'll be ever-so helpful in the future. Of course, my wallet is inclined to disagree...

    Bust Magazine, March 2004

Such a glowing review means that good karma is heading your way

    Gluttony

The best way I can describe this is that it smells like liquid butter laced with vanilla... and not the overbearingly sweet kind of vanilla, either. A rich, heady sugar that beckons you to gorge on itself and come back for more. I can imagine people salivating for this kind of scent.

    Ophelia

What a pretty floral! I've tried two aquatic type scents this week, and they're both lovely. Ophelia comes on very strong when you first apply it. Even on a person like me, where scents literally disappear within hours, a few drops should do the trick. I want to say it's either the lily or rose that does it for me, but I am not an expert at detecting single notes so I'll just say that if you're feeling rather girlish, dab on some Ophelia, and go dancing in the rain.

    Lolita

Wet, this smelled like dried orange peel on me, and I don't mean the fruity zest---it was quite bitter/sour and remained that way for some time. It kind of mellowed out at the end, but among the light florals it still stood out. I'll give it another go, since the reason I was drawn to it was because it was a light scent, but I'm not feeling optimistic about this one.

    Greed

This was a woodsy scent that reminded me of Unseelie, but much darker. Wet, the heliotrope stood out, but as it dried the patchouli came out to play. Unfortunately I've never been really fond of patchouli... it ended up smelling bitter and rank on my wrists, to the point where I went to wash it off. So for me the initial smell is nice, drydown was not.

    March Hare

Category Mad Tea Party Review I've worn this twice so far. In my second order I picked out Katarina for my younger sister, who adores peach/apricot scents, so I was slighly surprised to see that I was given a bunch of peach/apricot-themed samples. It's too bad my sister brushed off BPAL (she claims they're too strong-smelling for her tastes). But I digress... March Hare was the first sample I tried. The first time I wore it, I didn't know what oils were used. On me it was a subtle sweet vanilla, mixed with something else I can't quite put my finger on, possibly a hint of floral. In any case, I thought it was lovely Today I'm wearing it again. This time the apricot is dominant, and it's probably the clove I was smelling the other day. While it's still nice, I still prefer the scent of the first time I wear it. I like it enough to use up my sample, but not to buy a bottle. EDIT: There was already a March Hare topic, so I merged this one into it. --Shollin

    London

Very rosey, but I kind of associate it with Maiden. Very light and elegant in its own way. It doesn't smell too "wicked" to me, but then again, I'm new to this perfume stuff

    Juliet

This one reminded me of a lighter version of Phantom Queen. It's not quite as heavy on the musk, however. On me the pear tends to overshadow everything else. I detect a slight hint of floral, but that's it. Really nice, feminine scent. I'd group it into the same category as Maiden. Reserve it for days when you want to remind the whole world that you're that sweet girl next door---in the shadows but not to be ignored.

    Email shennanigans.

News is that the source for Windows NT/2000 has been leaked, so the worst thing to expect is more trojans and viruses in the future as coders try to exploit this sort of thing.

    good enough for now

Looks great, Diana. I hope you didn't stay up too late finishing this
  13. I would say Three Witches goes extremely well with Pied de Pepper and Skinny Dip.

    Snake Oil

This is a beautiful scent, but unfortunately it's not for me. Of all the BPAL samples that I've tried, this has the greatest staying power. I recommend it to BPAL virgins who can't decide what to get. It seems to be a hit for most people. When smelling it, the words "rich and sultry" come to mind. It was a bit too overpowering for me, although I got used to it with every application. I ended up giving my Imp's Ear to a friend, because she had a Valentine's Day outfit that just screamed Snake Oil.

    Maiden

I don't know if I like this enough to buy a bottle, but it's certainly very pretty. I smell the rose and tea, and it's a light fragrance. Perfect for daytime. I had to do a double or triple application when I wear it, as I discovered that the scent doesn't tend to last as long as I would like. The best word I can describe this perfume is "virginal". It reminds me of empire-waisted frocks and parasols. Girlish with sophistication.

    Spellbound

This scent gets bonus points for its staying power. No matter how much soap I used to scrub my wrists, the scent still lingered. Unfortunately, I hated the smell, wet and dry. Very heady and too floral for my tastes. It's what my sister and I call "old lady smell".

    Three Witches

If you are a fan of Lush's Pied de Pepper or Skinny Dip, you'll love this one. All I could smell were cloves with a hint of cinnamon. I couldn't detect the white pepper at all. Clove fans can happily bask in this bewitching brew

    Lady MacBeth

I do like Lady Macbeth, but it's a bit too fruity on me. It reminds me of NERDs candy. Very juicy. If you like that kind of smell, go for it
