In the imp: first sniff gives me the buttery-pumpkin-spice goodness associated with Jack and a deep second sniff gives me just a dribble of a berry sweetness. Wet on my skin: that red-hots scent so many people have described, mixed with the pumpkin, and just a little of something else sweet. Dry on my skin: Spicy pumpkin liek woah! This is a gorgeous spicy pumpkin, buttery with lots of cinnamon. I'm not getting a whole lot else, maybe just a faint fruityness but by now I'm trying so hard to smell something else in there I culd be imagining it! Later: This is a lovely spicy warm buttery bakery pumpkin. It smells like autumn to me... not sure it really does enough for me beyond Jack though.

In the imp: light light floral, so pale it's almost translucent. On my skin wet: faint vanilla floral, but I have to try hard to get it. It's hugging my skin. A faint suggestion that it might go soapy (as white florals often do on me), but I think the ginger warmth stops it. On my skin dry: A faintly floral vanilla with warm gingery-smoky strains, but so very faint that I have to really try to get anything beyond sweet white floral. Later: While still being really light, this is a gorgeous blend of vanilla and ginger warmth. The vanilla is not foody, not overly creamy, but floral and matched beautifully by a light gingery warmth. Lovely. Overall: This is a gorgeous scent, if only it had more throw. Maybe I was a little too frugal with it. It didn't go soapy on me like i feared. Really lovely.

I got this as a frimp with my second order from the lab. I'm not sure about the dragon's blood on me, but I'll have to give it a try. In the imp: I can definitely smell the dragon's blood. Makes me think of my favourite incense. And the musks are hard to miss. I'm not really picking out any fruity notes though. Perhaps they will emerge... On skin, wet: Wait, there is the fig! The name of this scent is so evocative. Sniffing my wrist, I can almost hear the thunder of a reptilian heart beating. The dragon's blood hasn't taken over too much like I feared it would. And the fig lends a sweetness to temper it. There is a heat in this too which must come from the red musk. On skin, dry: This has dried down to a warm mix of musks, the ever present dragon's blood (of course), and something faintly wet and juicy smelling which must be a combination of fig and black currant. It feels as though you are wrapped warmly, leaning against your dragon in the night, protected and enfolded by it's body wrapped around you almost like a cave. A safe and warm smell. Conclusion: I really like this. I'm not sure what the throw is like (no-one else at home!), but I can smell it fine without my nose close to my wrist at all. There is a subtle strength in this that is comforting. I can see this being a comfort perfume for me.

In the bottle: A creamy sweetness with just a hint of the lavender and musk. Mmm, smells yummy! On skin, wet: The musks are showing through a little on my skin. So far this smells delicious. Not too heavy, but then has enough substance to make me take notice. On skin, dry: This is absolutely gorgeous. Creamy vanilla tea, with light lavender and musk highlights. It hasn’t changed a great deal from the original scent, which is fantastic as I love it. Drydown: This is beautiful. It doesn’t last as long on my skin as some other scents, but that just means I get to spend more time playing with smellies as I re-apply! It’s a hard scent to capture in word pictures. All I know is that I love it. Conclusion: Dorian has won another heart! Definitely on my bottle list.

In the bottle: I can smell almonds, and something else that catches at my nose, almost like a shadow moving in the corner of my eye. Something like currants… perhaps it is the plum that I’m smelling. On skin, wet: More almonds, and something a little spicy underneath. There is a definite fruit note too. It must be the plum. Whatever it is, it smells really yummy. On skin, dry: The almonds have almost completely disappeared, and now there is a sweet, plum-y, wine-y scent with a musky undertone. This is a gorgeous scent that just screams strength at me. The scent captures the goddess perfectly. I am in such awe. I think I might have found a favourite! Drydown: This is beautiful. The throw is very good, and the scent seems to be hanging around well 3+ hours later. It is a very warm spicy smell, with fruity over tones, and something electric in it. I often find it hard to describe the scents that I love, as opposed to scents that I’m just so-so about. This is another case of loss for words. Conclusion: Here is another perfume for my bottle list. I am so glad I took a chance and got an imp of this scent. It really is divine!

In the bottle: Wow! Really strong sweet milky coffee. With a definite ‘irish’ scent Overpoweringly so. Not sure I can handle this. On skin, wet: Something besides the alcoholic coffee is showing through, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe when the coffee quiets down it’ll show through easier. It has an almost medicinal quality to it. On skin, dry: There is an oak-y note showing now. And an almost butterscotch scent that is probably from the coffee note. Now there is a buttery, nutty smell. This scent is morphing very quickly on my skin, quicker than anything else I’ve ever tried. Drydown: I am unsure as to what I think of this scent. The coffee notes I like very much, and I think I might like the darker woodier notes in another combination. Something in this combination smells sickly bitter though, and makes me feel quite nauseous. It is a shame, since I did so want to like this scent; nothing could be more suited to the eternal student that I am! I will try it again, as I am almost determined to like it! Conclusion: Not too keen on this combination. However, I’m going to give it another chance.

In the bottle: gorgeous sweet almonds, and hidden underneath a faint spiciness. Yum!! On skin, wet: As it warms up that spiciness is emerging more. I think I’m going to like this one. It smells like a yummy spice cake wrapped in delicious marzipan. It’s soft and creamy and honeyed almonds over spice biscuits. It’s gorgeous. On skin, dry: I can’t stop sniffing my wrist. This is so gorgeous. I want to go and wake my Mum up to show her! It is the scent of a very confident, strong woman who stands looking over the desert in flowing robes pulled back by a strong wind. She doesn’t see desolation though, she sees beauty, depth, and strength in the landscape. I love this. Drydown: It is soft and beautiful, yet has strength to it. Complete contradiction there, I know. The almond is beautiful with it’s honey highlights making it creamy-sweet, and the bit of spice underneath makes it into an adult scent. It’s very hard to describe! But I like it! Conclusion: Definite keeper, and I’m thinking about that bottle!! Don’t you just love it when the freebies work so well!

In the bottle: Very smoky incense… nice, smooth, rich. Frankincense? On skin, wet: Deep and rich incense. This is a very comforting scent to me. On skin, dry: This hasn’t changed much at all on my skin. It smells like sun warmed pews and incense. It’s just gorgeous, warm and woody. I like this very much. Drydown: This scent didn’t hang around very long sadly. It’s very soft and close to my skin. It’s still gorgeous though. Conclusion: I really like this scent. I’ll be wearing this as a comfort thing. For some reason it reminds me of my grandfather’s house in England. It's resin-y on me, with the incense notes softlyly underneath. It’s warm and feels like a big hug, like I’m being cradled. Love it.

In the bottle: Gorgeous florals, the lilac… very nice! On skin, wet: Stops being so floral and that green note others talked about emerges. If it stays like this, I’m going to love it! It’s a very sharp, high, sweet green note that tickles up high in my nose. That sounds very odd, I realize, but it is very nice. I just keep breathing it in. It’s so fresh smelling. On skin, dry: It has kept that green note, with the florals blending nicely behind it. I love this! I wish I had bought two bottles now! Drydown: This has a great throw, and lingers with a warm distance after the sharp ‘greenness’ wears off. It smells like a midnight walk through a garden full of light floral blooms on a clear icy night. There is a solitude and clarity to this scent, but also the comfort of the familiar scents in there. Conclusion: I think I’ll be wearing this one often. Definitely a keeper. Now I just have to wait for my shirt to come with that gorgeous artwork!

In the bottle: Almonds!! Smells like marzipan, yum! On skin, wet: Almonds and something else spicy… still smells yum On skin, dry: Once the almond settles down something sweet emerges… and rose. Mum says carnation too, but I'm not sure about that. Drydown: Lots of roses… everywhere! At least, thats what I get! Not sure if roses are me, I’ll have to think about that. There’s a hint of cherry in there too. This is a gorgeous scent. Conclusion: Lovely… not sure its me, but it is gorgeous. I’m going to wear it a couple more times and decide.

In the bottle: Light wet florals On skin, wet: Very light scent. Sweet pale green-pink smelling florals. It’s a really nice bright girly scent. On skin, dry: Oh no! I think it might be turning soapy on me. Darn it! I like the white floral smell I had at first, but there is a definite ‘soap’ note on me that is taking over. Drydown: It is a pretty soap, but still soap that makes me feel somewhat ill Conclusion: I’ll try it again, but sadly I don’t think this is suited to my chemistry. It’s a shame, as it hints at something so pretty, but it just doesn’t work for me. Very sad. I got this as a frimp, and really wanted it to work!

The jury is still out on this one... In the bottle: The narcissus is very sharp in the first sniff… hmm… my first reaction is not sure if this is my sort of scent. On skin, wet: Sharp narcissus… hoping that the vanilla will come out to soften this out a bit. On skin, dry: Now the vanilla comes out warmly. It’s a brash scent. As the vanilla emerges more, bring a soft orange blossom scent with it, I’m beginning to like this more. Drydown: It is a very sensual scent. Warm, verging on musky. While sniffing my arm, I got a sudden impulse to lick it (I didn’t though, probably wouldn’t taste as nice as it smells!)! Definitely a night scent for me… I think it might make me feel either very self-conscious if I didn’t feel that the sexiness of the scent fits me, or very bold and confident… I’ll have to try it out ! The vanilla is very nice and silky, the spiciness from the narcissus and orange blossom give it a cheeky turn. Conclusion: I like this. It’s a very sexy smell… I’ll have to decide if it’s really me or not.

I loved this scent! In the bottle: Sharp smell, crisp, almost citrus-y scent On skin, wet: Looking at the notes, I’d guess the carnation is what I’m smelling (new nose, just learning!), and the mosses, giving a ‘green’ smell. On skin, dry: still getting the mosses, and the carnation is still showing brightly. Very nice. I’m liking this, even though it is a masculine scent. It’s a fresh smell. My dad reacted by smelling my wrists more instead of grimacing and fleeing as he normally would! Drydown: The amber is glowing through now… it is still a light fresh smell with almost creamy amber and lavender undertones… Very hypnotic. After a few hours it faded down to a very soft amber/lavender combination. At the same time it still has that 'freshly-showered' kinda feel. Not a huge throw. Very nice though! Conclusion: I can imagine a very refined gentleman smelling like this. The kind of man who always knows the right thing to say. I suppose, it is the Comte de Saint-Germain! It is a very ‘together’, sophisticated scent. Nice scent, I’ll definitely wear this one again! My teenaged brother chose to try this scent for himself and I think he wants to steal it now! I'll fight him for it!
