So I got this as a decant from someone just recently and thought I'd give it a try! Not exactly what I was expecting! Bottle: I definitely get a whiff of something citrus-y, but not grapefruit in particular. Just a bit of a sharp note that's kind of hard to distinguish. There are other notes there under the citrus but I can't really pick them out. Something creamy, maybe? Wet: I... smell like ... a Dreamsicle! Seriously. I know this is supposed to be pink grapefruit, but okay - this just tickles me. Very funny. I let my housemate take a sniff of my wrist and when I told her what it reminded me of, she laughed. Creamy and the citrus just winds up smelling like orange on me. Not a bad smell, per se, but definitely not what I was expecting! Definitely a light and creamy and sweet scent. Not usually my thing, but it's different and was a delightful surprise! Drydown: Still Dreamsicle. For quite a long time. I put this on at about... ohh, 11am today, I think? It's 6:30 now and I'm smelling creamy vanilla and a very faint floral note (omg I love gardenia! and it, apparently, loves me!) The citrus calmed down quite a bit (around 3pm or so) and has since faded almost completely. Which is a good thing, because while I like Dreamsicles, I'm not all that thrilled about smelling like one. Final verdict: 3/5. Not my usual, but definitely great fun! -
I received a decant of this just today! I had a bad experience earlier in the day with a frimp of Jailbait that I'd gotten, so when I opened up my Gemini decant and took a tiny sniff, I got punched in the nose with the benzoin and frankincense and was, understandably, a little reticent. I bit the bullet, though, and placed a little dot of it on the back of my wrist and -- wowza! The benzoin and frankincense really do calm down considerably. Even in the bottle, I didn't get barely even a hint of the lavender (which is good, because it's usually overwhelming on me) and even now, I'm still not. Ten or fifteen minutes later and ooooh... delicious! Deep, earthy herbal scent and tender orchids. Definitely captures Gemini's duality - a very assertive herbal fragrance paired with a very delicate, aromatic layers of lavender and orchid. This is a very complex scent and I'm really glad that I didn't let the super-strong herbal punch-in-the-nose scare me off. Oooh, I loves it, I loves it!

Oh, boy. Well, so I got this as a frimp along with a bottle of Milk Moon that I won on eBay (it actually smells good on me! no nasty formula smell! whee!) and thought I'd give it a try today. The second a drop of it hit my skin, I could tell that something wasn't right: in barely half a second, this pungent, overpowering odor wafted up to me and I started flailing. Bad perfume reaction! My first really bad experience with an oil was beginning. The sickeningly sweet cheap-waxy bubblegum stench had made way for this odor that was like ... asphalt and PlayDoh, is the best description I can think of. Like, mainly that really cloying tar smell - it gets right up in your nose and kinda knocks you back. That's what happened here. My nose actually started getting physically irritated (rather than just offended by the smell) and I really wanted to reach up and rub my nose, but I just got my nostril pierced on Saturday, so I was left expressing my distate in a verbal way as I rushed to the bathroom. "Euweuweuw! Get it off, get it off!" Taking another hesitant sniff of my wrist, I can tell that it's going to linger for a while, and it has morphed into something far less offensive now as it's drying, but my nose would never forgive me if I kept using it just to get to the fair-to-middlin' scent underneath the asphalt. Blecch.
