    Poisson d'Avril

This is lovely! Poisson is a lovely mixed boquet of florals, the scent of an April garden. I can pick out a little tulip when its wet and a little daffodil when its dry but otherwise this is well-blended with none of the notes taking over at any time. I don't get any sugar and just a hint of honey when its dry. Poisson is a light, skin clinging scent. I'm very happy I got a bottle in my last order!

    Monster Bait: Tokyo Stomp

I love peppermint and vanilla so Tokyo Stomp was a must for me. This is a yummy scent!! It starts off peppermint, then the vanilla joins in. As it dries down, the peppermint recedes into the background and the creamy vanilla takes over. Tokyo Stomp is less minty and sugary than Lick It (Again) and not as cold or crisp. I can't compare this to Snowblind as I haven't tried it (and don't feel the need to anymore either as Tokyo Stomp is as perfect a vanilla mint as I'd want!) I really like love this and look forward to wearing it during the warmer months ahead.

    Velvet

I find Velvet to be a very soothing, relaxing scent. It smells neither foody nor incens-y to me - in fact, I couldn't catagorize it at all. Its an unusual combination of notes, yet it works and I really like it. From wet to dry, its sandalwood and myrrh with a hint of cocoa when wet and a hint of vanilla when dry.

    Leanan Sidhe

Leanan Sidhe starts out with herbs that are just a *touch* bitter. This doesn't last very long, thankfully, as the herbs soften and are joined by soft florals. I can't pick out any notes but this is a very "green" scent to me. Its the scent of a spring medow at dawn, the flowers and greenery dusted by dew. I like this scent quite a bit.

    Moon Rose

Moon Rose starts out a delicate, pale rose. The moonflower joins in as it dries down. I've always loved rose and recently discovered I love moonflower too, so its nice to have a scent that showcases it. This is a light scent and it doesn't last long, but its abosolutely beautiful.

    The Oblation

The Oblation starts out lavender, buts its a sharper and more herbal lavender note than I'm used to. I wonder if this is a result of the dianthus? Thankfully the sharpness tones down after a moment and its all lovely, sweet lavender with a hint of blackberry coming through. As it dries, the lavender gradually fades out and the blackberry comes forward. The dry-down is blackberry with just a touch of honey. This is a gorgeous scent! I'm someone who normally can't wear honey, especially aged honey, but the white honey in this is just perfect. I have no problem with it at all!

    Frumious Bandersnatch

I love carnation and plum and I recall liking the chrysanthemum note in Harvest 2005...but all these notes together? It works! This starts out juicy, spicy (from the carnation) plum. These notes then take a backseat to the lovely, golden mums. Frumious Bandersnatch is something I can see wearing in late summer into the fall. Its really nice and I'm happy to have an imp of it.

    Jezebel

Jezebel starts out with a thick, rich honey (like the honey note in O). I next get a lush, sweet honey-dipped rose with orange. Once Jezebel is completely dry, its honey and sandalwood. Jezebel is a sexy, feminine scent and I'm loving it, its a top favourite now.

    Titania

This is a charming scent a bit of a morpher. It starts crisp, fresh fruits - mostly grapes and peach. As it dries down, the moonflower and musk rose joins the fruits. Once its fully dry, its a musky floral without any fruit notes. This is a light, skin-clinging scent, but very lovely and summery. I'm glad I went with a bottle purchase - unsniffed!

    Euphrosyne

I love the Lab's vanilla, although usually it either doesn't last long on my skin or gets beaten into submission by the other notes. In Euphrosyne, however, the vanilla lasts and lasts! Add to that three of my favourite florals (none of which are strong in this, vanilla is definately on top) and well, this is love.

    Kindly Moon

Despite being an October full moon name, Kindly Moon smells like springtime in a bottle to me! Its gardenia, moonflower, and hyacinth mixed with a little fruit, some sweetness from the vanilla and honeycomb, and a bit of musk once dry. This is one of my favourite Lunar blends.

    Wilhelmina Murray

Wilhelmina Murray starts out a soft, delicate, mostly rose floral. As it dries, the hyacinth appears first, then the blackcurrant, and finally a touch of the myrrh and daemonorops under the hyacinth and blackcurrant. Mina feels like two different perfumes in one - the soft, innocent floral and then the darker finish. I think it suits Bram Stoker's character. This is a gorgeous scent and I'm glad I have it - although I wonder why I didn't order it last autumn!

    Pink Moon 2007

A sweet and silly compliment to the first breath of Spring! Sugared carnation and phlox! Pink Moon is lovely! It starts out sweet, slightly spicy carnations. I don't smell sugar as I do with Hope though...its just a sweeter carnation. The phlox comes up next and its a nice, mild floral. The drydown is phlox with a hint of carnation. The label is also to die for (and how I regret not getting a tee shirt)! ETA scent description

    The Knave of Hearts

I'm not overly fond of cake-foody type perfumes (the buttery-cake note tends to give me a headache) but I wanted to try Knave of Hearts for the roses and blackcurrants. Wet, this is buttery-vanilla cake. Its a little strong, but tolerable, and thankfully doesn't last too long on my skin. Next the blackcurrant comes up, and its yummy!! It smells a lot like blueberry (which is very good as I was hoping for a blueberry scent someday). The butter-cake fades out and currant takes over with a hint of vanilla. Once it dries, I get a little soft rose under the currant.

    Aglaea

Aglaea starts out peach wine. Its definately peach wine, not regular peach fruit, because its brighter, sweeter, and just a bit boozy. A little musk joins the peach then amber joins the musky peach on the drydown. Aglaea is a bright and cheerful scent and my favourite peach perfume, but only when its fresh. Once its aged, the myrtle comes out to make it sour and bitter.

    Bess

Inspired by the tragic, ill-fated love of Queen Elizabeth I and the Earl of Leicester. This is our modernization of a 17th-century perfume blend favored by British aristocracy: rosemary, orange flower, grape spirit, five rose variants, lemon peel, and mint. I enjoy history and Good Queen Bess is my favourite historical figure. So, of course, I wanted to try this scent even though the combination of notes sounded a bit odd. This starts off rosemary, fresh grapes (not wine), and a hint of rose. It gets more herbal-mint and citrus-y as it dries. I can only wear a dab of this, as rosemary can give me a headache. But it is a very pretty and unique scent.

    Zombi

Zombi is such an intruiging and unusual scent. I wanted to try it due to my love of zombie movies. In the vial, it smells of dirt and mould, which isn't very appealing. However, on my skin, its amazing. It starts out dirt and greenery then the rose comes in and the dirt note fades to a whisper. It makes me think of a zombie that has crawled from its grave with earth and funeral roses clinging to it. Zombi was my Halloween scent last year, but its also something that can be worn year-round. I think I'll be picking up a bottle in the next few months.

    Maiden

Carnation is the main note with a little rose behind it. I get a little white tea when its wet but its gone by the dry-down. Its a light scent on my skin (not a lot of throw) but it lasts quite a while. Maiden is the very first BPAL I tried last year and it remains one of my favourites.

    Eos

Today is the first *full* day of spring, so its a good time to wear Eos. This is such a bright, cheerful, golden scent. Wet, its honeysuckle with a touch of jasmine. As it dries, the skin musk and buttercup (I think its buttercup...I never realized they smell so pretty!) come forward. Eos is sunshine in a bottle, a lovely scent for this time of year.

    The Peacock Queen

I have the 2005 version. This is a soft, slightly powdery rose from beginning to end. I didn't find it as much haughty and vain as I did confident and mature. Its one of my favourite rose blends from the Lab.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

Mousie is such a charming scent. It starts off amber with a little vanilla. As it dries, the sweetpea comes out. I get a little sandalwood as well once its dry. I ordered an imp of this in my very first order and it remains one of my true BPAL loves.

    Pumpkin Patch I (2005, 2006)

This is delicious!! It starts off warm, buttery pumpkin (but less buttery than Jack) then the apple and spices take over. In this stage, it reminds me a lot of Punkie Night, but instead of crisp, just-off-the-tree apples, its a softer and warmer scent, like cinnamon apple pie. I wish the pumpkin stayed longer on my skin, but its in my scent locket so that is good enough for now. This scent makes me feel like I'm in the month of October again, drinking warm apple cider and munching on pumpkin bread, and watching leaves fall instead of today's snow!

    White Moon

The name is White Moon, but this smells purple to me. It starts off a beautiful lilac that reminds me of lilacs in bloom in May. The lilac recedes and I get violet and wisteria with a touch of sandalwood and musk. White Moon is such a soft, lovely scent but it has good staying power. The label is also one of my favourites.

    Monster Bait: Underbed

This is a really cute scent! It starts out cocoa with cassia. Alas, the cocoa fades quickly as it always done on my skin (sad!). The cassia tones down, coconut joins in, and there is a hint of sweetness from the angel food cake. I'm not big on cake scents, but angel food is nice, neither overly sweet nor buttery. This is up there with Tokyo Stomp as my favourite Monsterbaits.

    Alice

Why did I wait so long to try Alice? This is adorable!!! Alice starts off honey-sweet, slightly creamy bergamont. This recedes into the background and carnation and a hint of rose come forward. This is such a charming scent, not too strong, and youthful. I want to have a tea party right now. ETA: Alice has become my favourite scent.
