On me, this smells almost identical to The Lion. Not that that's a bad thing; I love The Lion. It'll be interesting to see if this lasts a bit longer. Very spicy and warm.

I get no leather from this at all (thank goodness), just creamy vanilla with a bit of sage. This smells quite close to Lush's American Cream conditioner (my favorite!) on me. It's similar to Morocco but isn't turning into playdough on me like Morocco does--yay! Thumbs up.
-
I like this one a lot; it's really nice to wear to bed. It reminds me of some sweet cereal with milk. The dragon's blood plus vanilla works beautifully and it lasts for ages!
-
Cherry cough drops quickly turning into cherry-stained wood. It's better than it sounds, but it only lasted about an hour on me. Rats!

I've finally struck out with a BPAL rose blend--this started out pure rosey goodness, but then the Narcissus of Doom jumped all over the rosebushes and took over. And narcissus and I don't get along. Rats! But I have plenty of other roses to choose from, so it's ok.

Ohhh gorgeous. Snake Oil that doesn't go all powdery. I want to pour this over ice cream and eat it (but I won't!). Now I'm going to go cry about it being an LE.
-
I get the sage note from this too. Lavender, something sweet like vanilla, and sage. Very sharp at first but...well, I can't report too well on the drydown because I'm completely, utterly unconscious at that point. This stuff WORKS. I have always had trouble falling asleep but with this I'm out so much faster. Thank you Lab; I may have to put in a standing order for this one!

Peach cobbler. Like I've been rolling in it! Not that that would be a bad thing, but it's soooo sweet. Whoa. I think I'm sticking with Fae for a nice soft peach...
-
I can't tell the difference between this and Velvet on me, oddly enough. They both have that same cocoa/sandalwood thing that goes just a little bit sour on my skin. Nice, but I'm sticking with Closet as my monster bait of choice!

For use when working with the many Gods of Sleep, Dreams, and Nightmares. This was a frimp with my bottle of TKO (how fitting!). It is indeed a very pungent, herbal lavender/rosemary scent. I've dabbed my wrists with it the past two nights and have slept heavily and had really vivid dreams (the dreaming part is normal for me, though). An interesting blend. I wouldn't wear it as a daytime scent but it's very relaxing for bedtime.

I love honey so I had to try this even though I was worried about the powder factor. 3 hours in though and I still smell sweet honey that's only got a slight powdery tinge to it. It reminds me of a bowl of honey nut cheerios with milk! If this doesn't turn in the next couple of hours, it's bottle-worthy for certain.

I thought Spellbound was a very Siouxsieish scent. It has both the ladylike quality (the rose) and the raw sexiness (the musk) that she has in my mind's eye. Plus it's just gorgeous. (I ordered a bottle last week!) I haven't tried Belladonna yet (or Severin, which would be the most Banshee scent of all, one would think!), but I'll have to get around to those eventually! The Cure girl in me is holding out for scents inspired by "This Twilight Garden" and "Chain of Flowers". And possibly "The Same Deep Water As You".

I'll admit I bought an imp of Nocturne because it's also the name of a Siouxsie CD/DVD. I think it smells a little too ladylike for the likes of Siouxsie, though. She's more Perversion! ETA: I completely forgot about Spellbound, which was ordered for the same reason. I had that song in my head all day when I tested it.

So perfect. Just like putting your nose down in a fresh nose! I've loved lots of the BPAL rose blends but this one is the purest, freshest, least morphing one yet. I must have more. It's still very evident on me 7 hours later, too...I feared it would fade, but nope! Love love love.

All righty, I'll be honest. I hate coffee. I mean I HATE coffee. I get queasy just walking past the coffee aisle in the grocery store. BUT I also love Lovecraft so I had to try all of the Arkham scents, and this was one of them. You can see the bind I was in. Well. This is delicious. Sweet, foody, a little reminiscent of Drink Me. Like a great flavored coffee blend. I'm keeping this imp for a chilly morning, just to see if I can wear it all day without having a coffee freakout. Kudos to Beth; getting me to even TRY this was a feat!

I had high hopes for this one but it smelled to me like nothing so much as bread. Yeasty bread. Which is a great smell in and of itself but I don't want to smell like it. Maybe I'll use it to scent the kitchen. Interestingly, I ended up testing this and MB: Underbed on the same day and the similarities are indeed striking. Underbed's got a little something extra in it that I can't identify, but otherwise they're almost identical on me.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

Interesting! Now I see why cassia gives me some irritation, too. And I'm adding grapefruit to the Bad List after Cheshire Cat was a naughty kitty on my arm. Itchville! -
I get lemon drops from this, with the barest hints of rosemary and orange blossom. It's very refreshing and energizing this morning, and I like that the rosemary doesn't leap out and pummel me into submission like it did with Catherine.

I'm always on the lookout for good peach scents, but most peach scents are horribly fake and synthetic--Fae is NOT. It's like standing in a peach orchard on a hot day when the peaches are so ripe they're falling off the trees. As it dries down it's starting to smell a little more like peach cobbler, very sweet. I'm going to give this imp a whirl a few more times for certain.

Slice open an orange and Moxie smells just like that. Bright and fresh and juicy. Love it!

Yum. I've tried '05 and '06 and they're both so tasty. I'm not good at picking out the exact differences, but I get a "brown sugar" vibe from '05 and more of a "candied fruit" thing from '06. Both are delicious; time will tell which one I end up wearing more often! I like the more subtle throw of these, too--it means I can enjoy them without worrying that I'm choking everyone around me with sweetness.

I'm going to have to try Jailbait again when I haven't just showered. I hope it works! I can't figure out why some BPAL cinnamons are fine on me, like Eclipse and Chimera, and some make me react (Harlot and Three Witches). Are there multiple types of cinnamon oil? -
Why oh why are all the delicious cake blends LEs (except Eat Me, dear dear Eat Me, that is)? Because they're all just great on me and this is no exception...a wonderfully cakey blend that stays that way for hours. I even get a hint of a graham-cracker crust on first application, too. I'm glad I have a bottle of this on the way to me because I don't think my imp's going to last long!

If Fruit Moon is a bag of original assorted Jolly Ranchers, then Shango is the tropical fruits assortment. Fresh and light and fruity and...fading...fading...fading very quickly, another trait it shares with Fruit Moon. But it's so good while it lasts!

I never would have picked this out for myself (vetiver and I are not really good friends), but I got it in a mystery imp pack and wow--I *love* it. It reminds me of the deepest, blackest molasses, spiked with cloves and spice. Good to wear at bedtime.
